Her siblings and cousins scents were everywhere on the wall and the surrounding woods. As much as she could trust that they would indulge her desire for distraction by enduring her pesky attacks, she felt she owed them a break. Even Iðunn.
Problem with taking a break was being left alone with her thoughts, haunting memories. Now she had made her way down to the black sand beach, there wasn’t much further she could go. An ear turned back as she caught a cry on the breeze, but she knew there was no point to trying to seek it out… Instead she turned towards the frigid waters, wading out to her elbows, before dropping down to wash the wound from her hunt in the cold salt water, ignoring the phantom spasm that passed along her side at the cries that sounded somewhere behind her. Another weak cry at her back, this one more desperate, but still she refused to turn around. Rán take her, she would not try to find where the noise was coming from. She kept sharp green eyes focused on the horizon.
It would pass. It always did.

Admittedly, Celeste had returned to the black sand beach in hopes her tattered raft was still there. The events that unfolded in the short time she'd been in these lands had been peculiar. Peculiar enough that she was ready to head home. With her newly horned cat in tow, Celeste made her way closer to the shore. When the scent of salty water over a chilly breeze brushed against her, she picked up her pace. It was when she crested the hill to look down on the ebbing waves did disappointment cross her features. A raft barely big enough to fit her had indeed washed away. Gone forever and permanently stranding her here. Letting out a loud enough huff that made her cat's orange stare turn to her, she rolled her own aquamarine eyes in response. Well, might as well make the best of it, right? When her gaze turned back to the sand, she noticed a muted but fiery-colored wolf. Did everyone here have the color red on them? Slightly interested in her nosy ways, Celeste's petite form made its way over to the girl. Noticing from a distance that the other girl didn't look particularly happy, Celeste couldn't help but wonder why. Not that it was any of her business, but she did like some good gossip. "What's got you looking all sour at the ocean?" She asks in her heavy Asian accent as she draws closer to the girl. |
