Balthier believed he was getting stronger on the fighting end, if not, more logical. He had always taken to hunting more, fighting other wolves was a little off putting if it wasn't for greater reasons. He would easily throw himself in the line of fire from a bear or large cat to help and protect even a stranger. So fighting just for practice was not really his style. But he had to learn somehow, and practicing was better than not knowing what to do during a raid or a real battle.

Coming to the battle field, he scoped the area and found a flat plot of land before calling out for an opponent.

After her fight with that grizzly bear she wanted to improve her fighting skills properly, as she was sure if Ardyn hadn't been there to help she might not have made it out as well as she had. She was small, smaller than pretty much every other wolf she had met recently, but that meant she was fast, and she took great pleasure in outmaneuvering an opponent. Just because she couldn't hit hard didn't mean she sucked at fighting, but that meant she needed to actually work on her skills, and so she had decided to make her way back to the battlefield with the intent to seek someone out. However it seemed she wasn't the only one with a spar on the mind, and she quickly course corrected at the beckoning call, coming upon a much larger (what a surprise) wolf with intricate golden markings. Inoki gazed intently at him, before offering up a cheeky smile as she dipped her front half down in a play bow, tail waving excitedly above her. "Take your best shot!" She said with a low but playful growl, digging her claws into the dirt so that she could spring away if he decided to simply charge at her.

When a woman came to his call, he couldn't say he was thrilled. Not because he didn't think she was worthy, but when he saw her and in such a smaller frame than himself, it made him think of his sister. He wouldn't have ever wanted to fight Azzurra, or even think of her fighting someone else. He was a little put off by it, but he wouldn't turn her down.

He dipped his head gently in response to her, but maybe his tension could be felt as he hesitantly prepared his own defenses to go against her. She was ready for the battle, and he wouldn't leave her waiting all day.

Not being used to smaller opponents either, he wasn't sure how to go against her. As was expected, he pushed forward towards her and when he got close enough he attempted to throw out his front right leg and tried to pull behind her own front left in order to get her wobbly on her feet. His efforts weren't great, and she probably had a high advantage in this fight.

The larger male seemed apprehensive, and Inoki planned to take full advantage of that. She knew she was small, and she'd use that against him if he didn't know how to deal with her. While she wouldn't fight dirty, using small-wolf tactics like slipping underneath or dancing on the edge of his reach were a good idea, as using brute force was simply not an option for her against larger opponents. He decided to run at her, and she grinned deviously at him, lifting herself up onto the tips of her toes to dart out to either side. Being flattened didn't sound like a fun idea, after all. She wasn't expecting him to reach out with a front paw to hook around her front leg, but decided to go with the flow and allow herself to be pulled aside. Her back legs dragged in the dirt and sand with the force of it, and Inoki felt herself stumble a little. But she was fast and light on her feet, and with a great heave she pushed off the ground to jump up and over his extended leg, whipping her head around to graze at the skin on his side as she attempted to put some distance between them, as it would only take a few moments for him to get the weight advantage and pin her to the ground. She needed to be only just close enough to get a quick attack of her own in, but not too close that he was able to grab her, as then it would be all over for her. The girl was certainly quick on her feet, not something Balthier could do or was used to fighting against. So when she fell out of his grasp and even out of his sight, he was certainly confused. He felt the bit of a sting at his side, and turned to realize the girl had nearly teleported from under him. It was a bit dramatic to think that way, but he was very dumbfounded by how quick she could move.

In return, He went to face her again, this time attempting to come at her chest forward, wanting to hit her a little sideways at her left shoulder rather than head on, as in chest to chest. He was at a loss of what to do while he didn't want to hurt her. This would have been much different if it was a serious battle.

It seemed she had managed to escape his initial hooked attack, and a delighted laugh escaped her mouth. This was so much fun, and she was definitely enjoying herself, particularly as her opponent seemed at a bit of a loss for how to go about a spar with her. She'd use that to her advantage, and maybe he'd learn a thing or two in the process as well. Inoki pranced past him when she felt her teeth graze lightly against his side, turning with a slide to face him again, mouth wide open in a grin as she challenged him with her eyes to make another move. He seemed to waste no time in charging at her again, this time making no move to try and swipe her leg out from under her. Rather than trying to dodge out of the way, Inoki squared her stance and took the brunt of the impact on her left shoulder, allowing herself to be shoved backwards through the dirt with the force of it She allowed a mere moment to take a deep breath before darting low to grab his left leg in her jaws right below the mid joint. If she was successful in her grab, Inoki wanted to shoot forwards to pull his leg underneath him and get him off-balance, maybe even getting him to fall over. Hopefully not on top of her though.
