Levi didn't like it here very much, the water smelled salty and the mud was thick beneath his paws. But he'd heard stories of MASSIVE reptiles that roamed the waterways and he was insistent on finding out if they were as monstrous as the stories claimed. It didn't take long for him to find a set of reptilian eyes skimming the murky surface and to be honest, Levi couldn't say he was too impressed by what he saw. Was this it? Tsking, he grabbed a nearby stick and lobbed it at the reptile, bonking it right on its half submerged head. With a hiss it swam closer, plodding up onto dryish land and-okay yeah. That was a very BIG saltwater crocodile.

With a growl in the back of his throat, he was quick to slap it on the end of its nose. If he didn't wanna find himself stuck between its jaws he'd have to be fast, real fast.

Ulmaria had once again managed to convince her uncle to take her herb hunting. She knew they'd be moving out of Fireside soon and she wanted to take advantage of her uncle's time while she had it. This time they had travelled east. She was snuggled deep in the travois for most of the trip until they arrived at the came site. While her uncle set up camp she went off to do a little exploring, not too far of course. At least she had her own companions now to travel with her. Valeria her fishing cat and Piper the lemur. Valeria was eager to go fishing in the mangrove waters, leaving Piper and Ulmaria to go herb hunting.

She was wandering along the edge of the mangroves when a terrifying hiss cut through the air. She spied the same boy she'd seen fighting a lion dealing with a huge, scary, lizard thing! Eek! "Look out! Get away from there!" She yelled then gasped as the crocodile headed toward her. It lunged and she scrambled up the mangrove roots, just avoiding its teeth as Piper brought a rock down on the croc's head before bouncing out of range of its jaws.

Álarr worked to set up camp. He planned to stay a few days herb gathering and wanted to have a place for his niece… cousin… niece… to play while he was busy. He had just started getting a fire going when he heard his niece shriek. Bloody hell, how had she gotten so far away already? Without a second though he sprang through the swamplands, scrambling through mud in time to see his niece avoid a crocodile's jaws. He had not yet seen the other pup. He lowered his head as the croc lunged, its fangs snapping over his horns but slipping off as the sharp appendages cut into the creature's mouth.

Get away? What did it look like he was doing? Levi didn't have time to send a scowl her way, as he knew this creature really wasn't the sort he should take his eyes off.  Dodging aside from its massive snapping jaws, Levi turned to see a white blur rush onto the scene. Oh it was them, again. Were they following him? Not that it mattered right now, so he was quick to shove such questions aside as he watched the dire get to work, doing his best to pin it down as Levi leapt back into the fray. Naturally he went for its eyes and began to scratch and scrape, or tried to at least. Its skin was so tough he barely felt the tips of his claws catch, let alone do any real damage. He'd need to try another approach then, use his teeth maybe?

Ulmaria scrambled deep down into the mangrove roots where she was fairly certain the crocodile couldn't get. Being barely a season old she could worm her way farther back then most predators could get but she also didn't want to be so far away she couldn't help. Technically, though, she'd promised Álarr to run and hide next time she ran into a large predator. So, she was making good on that promise right? She was trying after all. At the thrashing sound of water she scooted forward and poked her head up between the roots to see the small boy and her uncle going after the crocodile. She felt a confusing mix of emotions. She felt safe back here but she also felt guilty for hiding while the others battled the creature. She watched intently, looking for an opening and learning as much as she could from watching the other two fight.

Álarr danced back away from the crocodile as it slipped back into the water for a moment. Blood stained the water from the beasts mouth and face where Levi's claws had pierced its thick hide. Álarr stepped cautiously closer, tempting the crocodile. It lunged once more, jaws snapping shut as it missed Álarr's flesh but pulled loose some of his snow white fur. Álarr bounded forward, latching his jaws tightly over the crocodiles, rendering it harmless for a few moments before the creature suddenly rolled, tearing its mouth from his jaws. Álarr shuffled quickly back, licking the blood from his teeth as the crocodile hissed, blood oozing down its snout.

Following the adult's example, Levi went to grab onto its muzzle as the adult- only to be shaken, or rather dragged off as it rolled itself free. Okay, maybe that was a move he'd have to try if caught in someone's jaws. Shaking his head, he ignored the thudding ache of his maw as he readjusted his line of attack. Go for the eyes, in a quick and concise strike. Whether it was a result of his attack, or simply that the beast decided he'd had enough, it began to peddle back into the mangrove waters. If they weren't gonna be edible then none of this was worth the effort, it seemed.

Ulmaria continued to watch carefully as she slunk forward. When the crocodiles back was to her she bounded forward and bit it on the tail. Bleh! It's skin was so hard she wasn't sure if he little baby teeth had done anything. The crocodile barely seemed to react and was still focused on the boys. She puffed up. Well, fine then. Ulmaria bounded forward, slamming her paws down onto its tail as a jolt of electricity shocked the reptile. It twisted around and she shrieked in surprise with how fast it moved, turning and racing back to her hidey hole and trusting that Álarr would intercept it.

Álarr tensed, ready to spring as both the pups attacked. He felt his heart hammering in his chest, hoping neither would be harmed but taking swift advantage of the distraction. The crocodile went from swinging at Ulmaria to twisting around for the boy. The boy put up a good effort and as soon as the crocodile started slinking back into the water Álarr bounded forward, lowered his head and speared one of the crocodile's eyes with one of its horns. It hissed and twisted sharply back into the water, disappearing down in the deep. Panting he moved away from the edge of the water.
