Shuriken was quite surprised at her advancement into the next round of the tournament. She lost the first time against Oki last time. So the little bit of pride had her nearly floating, but it wasn’t enough to make her believe she would win this fight. The last had been a fluke, this time the Armada girl would certainly beat her. This was the Warlord’s daughter, there wasn’t much chance of defeating her. Still, Ike was certain she would at least learn something, which was really the important part. There wasn’t a likely victory, but every fight gave her more experience. As mom said, that was a quality that would help her become a better fighter and ultimately a better leader. Someday.

So the girl lifted herself for the second round, taking in a deep breath and lifting her head. If she acted like she had confidence she would eventually have confidence right? She prayed her paws wouldn’t betray her as her still gangly form approached the ring and waited for her opponent.

Gossamer felt some relief at making it to the next round of the tournament after doing so poorly the last few times though she still hadn't really had a chance to show what she could do. Gossy bounded through the crowds to her next round against a pretty black and white girl with unique horns and whiskers. She dipped her head in greeting before facing off against the other and swiftly setting her defenses. When she was sure the other girl was ready she charged forward.

The young princess took in a deep breath as her opponent approached. She looked eager and bright as she bound forward to meet up with Ike there in the open. Shuriken was a little taller, but Gossamer was built heavier. Shuriken’s sharp eyes instinctually looked over the other young woman, taking in anything that could potentially give her an upper hand. And there wasn’t much. Beyond her build and the glistening flash of the fangs from her upper jaw. Ike offered a similar greeting, dipping her head slightly, but there wasn’t any room for much else. The Armada woman didn’t really pause before barreling towards her.

Ike assumed she was trying to knock into her so the clumsy girl collected her long legs beneath her and scrambled out of the way. Barely avoiding the monochrome wolf. Shuriken lowered herself easily into a fighter’s mindset, it had always been something almost otherworldly, like a higher state of focus. Nothing existed but their two dancing forms. Even if the princess often lost control of her paws.

She tried to pivot, maneuvering her thin frame to round and face Gossamer. Lifting her right paw and extending her long talons she’d aim to return the girl’s attack with a hefty slash.

Gossamer mentally swore as she missed but in all honestly she shouldn't have been surprised. Shuriken was tall and lithe, build like a gazelle and she was as quick as one to be sure. If Gossamer wanted to land a hit she'd have to try harder. Gossamer twisted around, trying to get face to face with Shuriken once more, though again it took her a fraction longer to get maneuvered around and Shuri's claws scratched her left thigh, breaking her skin. She twisted her neck to the side as she attempted to latch onto Shuri's raised wrist. Hoping to catch it before it was placed back on the ground.

Shuriken’s eagle like talons were unleashed and aimed correctly as she spun around. The tips of them bit into flesh, but Ike didn’t wish her opponent any true harm. They would likely only sting for a little while. Ike of course over extended. If she had been anyone else she would have pulled back and away smoothly, but instead pitched forward and into Gossamer’s awaiting jaws.

She got to know those long fangs personally, however much her wrist hurt she was already pitching forward so went with the momentum. Aiming to lift her other paw as she fell to grab Gossamer and pin her beneath her, winning the match.
