One Day I Will Be
Cinaed

With the events of the ooze over and the heat of the practice raid cooled, Cerberus had decided to go out to the dam and run a practice patrol. He was careful about how close he was to the border, but if he needed help he knew someone would be doing the real patrol around here. He had Moccasin to get in the middle if anything.
Catching on to the scent of the wolf patrolling the area, he followed in suit. He knew the wolf just from seeing him around the pack, but he didn't really know him. When he finally approached him, Cerberus let out a small huff of a bark to let him know he was here. He didn't stop the man from his patrol, and instead went to join alongside him. "Hey, I've seen you around." He spoke, maybe made a little bit awkward but he guessed that was okay. He didn't know anyone besides his family after all. "What's your name?"
"Cerberus Klein"

Cináed walked along the border of the pack that looped around the Aspen Dam, doing the usual routine of patrols that had become more habit than anything. None of them really lived out here or spent much time other than to hunt and patrol, but he supposed it was still their land so it was better to make sure no one had been trespassing all the same. It was still kind of weird to him to feel an ownership and a purpose for something like a pack when the pack he had grown up in had failed him so horribly. For a while after it crumbled he had been pretty set on never living in a pack again, but Chimera had convinced him otherwise and now here he was... doing patrols, fighting in raids, defending a pack. All of the things that he assumed were "normal" for a pack wolf. It made him chuckle a little at himself and how much things had changed.
The sound of a small bark pulled him out of his wandering thoughts and he glanced back at the black and brown boy that approached him. He recognized him as one of Chimera's sons from seeing him around the pack, but he mostly kept to himself so crossing paths with any of Chimera's brood was pretty few and far between. He wasn't going to just shoo the young man away though. He didn't want to accidentally offend the kid or his King father. "Cináed," he replied when he was asked for his name, giving the striped and brindled boy a nod. "And you're... Cerberus?" he questioned after a brief moment of wracking his brain for the boy's name. He was certain he had heard it in passing, but wanted to confirm just in case.

He steadied into a pace beside but just a little behind Cinaed, his ears perked as the young brute introduced himself. He assumed his name and Cerberus nodded, "Yes, I'm Chimera's oldest son." He spoke, knowing that there were probably too many to keep track of or at least for the more outsiders of the pack. He knew there were a few wolves of the pack he hadn't met. He had spent a good amount of time recently recovering from the ooze and the loss of his mother, but even before then he was much more of a homebody. Now that Viper was gone and he was getting older and participating in raids he found himself outside the rooms more.
Stuck in an awkward silence along Cinaed's patrol route, he went to quietly speak out again, "Are you from around here?" He didn't find the question bothersome at least, he was genuinely curious. Almost everyone he had known was born here or together when he was born. So the world outside his pack and home just felt like it could be completely different than the life he knew.

Cináed gave the younger wolf a smile and a nod when he confirmed his name and added on that he was Chimera's oldest. "Nice to meet you, Cerberus." He didn't really know what else to say to the boy, but he was also fine falling into silence while they continued on the patrol. Eventually though Cerberus did ask a question and gave them at least a little something to fill the space. Of course his question centered around one of the parts about himself that he usually avoided talking about, but it wasn't like this kid would know anything about his former pack or family anyway so he didn't suppose there was any harm in at least vague details.
"No, not originally," he replied, glancing at Cerberus before turning his golden gaze back ahead of him toward the path in front of them. "I was born up in northern Boreas. I didn't come down to Auster until after I turned a year old... The weather is way better down here," he told him with a chuckle, playing it off as if that was his only reason for moving. "And then your dad found me and recruited me into Fenmyre and I've been here ever since." He glanced back down at Cerberus, asking, "Was Fenmyre already here when you were born? Or did Chimera start it after that?"

Cerberus wouldn't know Cina's whole backstory, and really he couldn't imagine how his life was before. Even with losing Viper, he was still surrounded by so many that loved and cared for him. He would have never changed anything about his life, even Viper as he grew and she left him with Siren. There was no way he could relate to Cina's own home life and childhood.
Cerberus listened to Cinaed intently, he was truly curious about what he had to tell him. He hadn't known about the the lands outside of Fenmyre first hand, but Siren had taught him about seasons and things like that. "Was it really cold there?" He actually found it kind of funny that the brute was from the northern snowy areas of Boreas given his markings resembled a burning fire. He didn't laugh though, just found it amusing. "I wouldn't have guessed that's where you're from."
He asked if he was born in Fenmyre or before which he answered gently, "Well I don't really remember it... But I was born in Ashen." He only knew stories of what Siren had told him, he was definitely too young to remember any of this. "They transported me and my mother on a raft to get here."
