This was safer than the loud popping of balloons or rings flying through the air. This was something she could manage. With an uncertain smile, she dipped her head and delicately fished one of the ducks from the pond, offering it to the attendant and thinking this little stall was prize enough just by offering some respite from the crush of bodies and noise outside.

Lúta knew it would do little good for her to try and remember. Likely during her illness there had been some brain damage and the pathways to the majority of the memories she'd had were destroyed. She knew it was time to start making new ones but even so it was hard for her to get out and socialize. She felt estranged from herself and the world. However, with some prompting from Raga and news of a festival she decided to at least go and observe the going on's. She found herself at a booth with wooden ducks and decided to grab one. Maybe her luck would improve.

Úlfr didn't really know what to make of the festival but he'd found a booth with various beer samples and immediately started feeling better about the whole thing. He'd heard there was going to be a tournament but for now he opted to join the crowds and watch the fighters rather than participating himself. It wasn't often he got to observe a number of fighters from the various packs. In the mean time he wandered about the carnival games before stopping at a booth with a pool full of wooden ducks. Deciding it was worth a shot he eyed the ducks for a moment before snatching one out of the middle.

Kiyo was certainly intrigued by the Carnival that had rode into Boreas. She’d made her way over with her Akita companion, Yui, who trailed dutifully at her side, her gentle silver gaze taking in the festivities with awe. There were elephants conducting rides, tournaments and spars taking place in a far corner, and several booths set up with various games. The ghostly woman had eyed the ring toss and the darts, but she knew she wasn’t so skilled for those. Her paws were indeed nimble from healing, but it was another matter entirely for the skills that the games required. No, she chose to be boring and go for the ducks.

She meandered up, offering a dip of her head in hello to the boisterous coydog who was running the booth before looking over the wooden ducks floating in front of her. She hummed, pondering before pointing at one floating in the upper right section of the small pond with a white splattered paw.

Sota wouldn't pass up the opportunity to see the festivities for himself, not when so many wolves from The Hallows were attending. It'd been a long time since he'd been to Boreas anyway and he was grateful to do some sight-seeing, though admittedly he was already missing the familiar walls of his home, the castle. He might as well enjoy his time while he was here though. He was drawn to the pool filled with strange wooden ducks and decided to try his paw at this little game. Studying them, noting they looked identical and no amount of deciding would help him, he picked one at random and flipped it over, wondering what he'd find.

Since her grandfather had passed, her aunt had seemed to be in such a rut... not to mention the woman she'd been spending all of her time with had seemed to disappear after the Long Night had passed. Fable was itching to ask her more questions about it, but she wanted to be respectful. As much as she could, anyway. "I'm the best ducker, so I'm sure that skill translates perfectly," she joked, nudging Theo towards the booth. Fable sprang up when it was her turn and debated her choice of prey for several moments before selecting on. "Gotcha!" she announced around its wooden neck, her words muffled.

Theory begrudgingly joined her niece on this outing. While she did enjoy the lightness of the festivities, she couldn't help but feel like there was still so much to do at home. She was half-present until Fable nudged her to attention again, dragging her closer towards one of the games. "Ah! Alright, this one it is," she said, perfectly happily to indulge Fable in whatever game she'd like to play. One less choice she had to make. "I'm sure your hunter's intuition will serve you well," she replied drily. She waited until Fable made her selection, then picked up the one directly adjacent. "Let's see who's the best hunter after all, eh?"

This was amazing! Soul walked through the throngs of wolves, his movements were a bit slow maybe with all the overwhelming scents around him but he was managing not to bump into too many wolves and those he did were generally placated by his smile and apology. His stomach rumbled and the young man took a detour to try one of the fried meats that were offered. Soul hummed softly to himself as he meandered, a loud voice breaking through the general din. Oh a game? The boy was eager to give it a go, he gently dipped his paws into the water, feeling for an object to bump against his toes before gently gripping the "duck" and pulling it from the water. "Speech"

Spirit was only encouraged here because of his packmates - more specifically, that a lot of his packmates were here. He wouldn't be caught dead here on his own. Even his finch Strawberry twittering quiet encouragement, as she settled onto his shoulder and quite nearly burrowed into his fur, did little to settle his nervousness. Gathering as much courage as he could muster, he trailed after a group of Abaven wolves and moved to the little pond. Once they were finished he took his own quiet turn, plucking one of the wooden ducks from the water without giving it much thought or even attempting to find any logic in the little game. He was just proud he'd come here at all, no matter the prize.

This was a canines festival. He couldnt help but to be interested. A grin growing across the large snakes face as he slithered through the crowds. A few looked at his long body with wide eyes. Koby apologized making sure to stay a few feet off the ground so he could see everything. Not long did he hit the duck pond, hunt a duck and get a prize!. Koby grinned his tongue flicking to taste the air once more.

"Mind if I try?" he spoke to the coydog. Before the snake got into action. With such ferosity he took a wooden duck from the pond. His teeth grabbed hold and he thought he looked a bit funny. Looking to the coydog koby wondered what sort of prize awaited him.

Vipera would have loved this. That's all the man could think as he passed by colorful booths. Wolves from all over, loner or pack, were gathering. A pain in his heart as he remembered similar celebrations with his wife. Now though he could offer the gods silent prayers for them as he continued. Who was he if he didnt get out of this depression, he was a student at Abaven now. It was time to unwind which is when it brought his attention to the duck pond. Small a game that looked like it was designed by a group of pups for easy play. Pheonix approached sniffing the edge of the pond and watching the bobbing wooden figures. Catch one... win a prize? It seemed too easy to be a catch, anyone could enter.

With his jaws agape he snatched up one of the ducks, making his way to the coydog. He placed the duck in front of him and turned it upside down. Something he could read was there. Looking up like his fortune was about to be told the edge of his tail twitched. "What does it say?" he politely asked with a tilt of his head. What fortune belay him, or more bad luck as his recovery became closer to an end?
