Ulmaria bounced along the bank of the river with her lemur companion, Piper. They were on the hunt for Valerian Root. Supposedly the herb would help her father and her grandfather sleep better and she thought it might be nice to have her uncle show her how to make some tea with it. Piper had described the plant to her and she was looking for pinkish flowers, trying to find some color that stood out amongst all the green. She had smelt some of the plant that Álarr had with him and noted its distinct and rather peculiar scent. Combining sight and scent she was sure she'd find something eventually, the trick was not getting too far from her uncle.

She was getting used to the lay of the land when the sound of rushing water caught her attention. While the idea of being in this humid and festering jungle was not her ideal habitat, it would do her no good to stay in one place. Every step was taken with care as she ambled through the brush. Her towering size did nothing to hide her as the gold markings on her fur flashed in the sun. Exhaustion riddled her bones as she tried to stay away. Anxiety and stress had gotten the better of her the last few nights. She needed to find anything to help her sleep.

Feeling a bit dazed, she almost didn't notice the colorful pup who also appeared to be searching through the brush. Freezing midstep, Tenshi's chin turns toward the child with a soft and curious glance. There is no ferocity this time as she had with other adult wolves. No, she would feel an overwhelming sense of endearment at the sight of the pup. Allowing a graceful and kind expression to flit over her face, she approached the pup slowly. "Do you need help?" Her thickly accented voice is still growing accustomed to the common tongue of the land.

Ulmaria had spied a plant low to the ground and covered with little pink blossoms but alas it wasn't what they were looking for. Another plant without any healing properties that either of her companions knew of so she carried on. Her head popped up suddenly out of the brush at a voice and she turned to see a very pretty lady with horns who asked if she needed help. "Hi! I think I can find it… well, actually, do you know if there is any Valerian around here?" Her lemur popped up shortly out of the brush at the conversation. She was sure she could find some eventually but if the lady knew where some was it might save her some time otherwise they could maybe look together if she was a plant lady.

When the pup popped up and asked if she knew where to find Valerian, Tenshi hummed quietly under her breath. Keeping a few feet between her and colorful pup, her icy blue gaze peered around them. One ear did turn toward the lemur as it showed itself which in turn caused Tenshi to smile. So the little thing wasn't out here all on her own. Feeling a bit more at ease that she didn't need to worry about the wellbeing of the girl, she nodded slightly. "Ah, yes, I believe I saw some," she commented as her eyes moved back to the girl.

Lowering herself down on all four so that she was more aligned with the pup, her head turned toward the side. Off from the river's edge in a patch of tall grass where the sun shined down, a few heads of pink flowers bent gently in the breeze. The tall and spare clusters of the pink and spiny flowers almost taunted them. "You see there. That should be Valerian," her nose nudged in the direction of the small clearing. Waiting for a few beats for the pup to notice, Tenshi stayed in her laying position until the girl would move on toward the plants.

Ulmaria's ears perked up as the horned woman explained that she had seen some. Yay! That would make for a quick trip for her. She could gather some and scurry back to the campsite before Álarr was any the wiser. The strange woman knelt down and gestured closer toward the river where a few small clumps of pink flowers could be seen. Ulmaria shrieked in delight and bounded toward the valerian, skidding to a stop where she started to dig at the base of the plant. "Thank you!" she chirped. "My name is Ulmaria. What's yours? Do you know a lot about plants?" She assumed the older woman probably did but it never hurt to ask. Ulmaria worked diligently, digging through the mud to the root. Once she spied the bulbous, smelly form she worked quickly to sever the root. With the plant part grasped between her teeth she looked up proudly at the horned woman.

A motherly grin broke out across her lips as the pup shrieked in delight. Her heart felt fuller than it had in a long time. Oh, how she had missed having pups around all the time. Trying not to feel sorry for herself, Tenshi stood up to follow the girl over to the bunch of pink-flowered plants to help dig. Her paws made careful work in the dirt around the stem so as not to mutilate the poor things. Lifting her eyes to look over at the pup, she smiled again. "Nice to meet you, Ulmaria. My name is Tenshi and yes, I have quite the knowledge of plants," her response is gentle as she finishes severing the root. Pushing it over to Ulmaria so she could take it, she sits down again. "You're quite good at herb collecting," Tenshi comments with a few swishes of her tail.

Ulmaria grinned, setting the root down so that she could speak. "Thanks! It's nice to meet you too Tenshi. Are you gonna gather some? I left some for you." She gestured over toward the remaining bundles of pink flowers that were growing in the clump nearby. She didn't know if the older woman would want any but either way she was only going to take one. Her uncle had explained to her that when the root was removed a plant wouldn't be able to grow back and a healer couldn't return to that herb patch the next time. Speaking of her uncle. Ulmaria perked up as she heard Álarr call her name. "Oh, that's my uncle. I better go. Maybe we'll meet again some time. Bye!" She grabbed the herb and bounded through the brush toward her uncle.
