After splitting off with Etoile at the festival the yearling began making her way east in search of the coast, following the river in hopes that it would bring her there. She wanted to see the ocean and figure out just how big the island was, but actually getting there seemed to take ages. By the time she'd reached the falls, Noelie was just about to give up and turn back around. Perhaps the fae should have made more of an effort to search for her cousin. At least then the journey wouldn't have been so boring.

Seating herself at the base of the falls, Noelie considered her options. She could go back and look for Etoile, or she could continue on. Unhappy with both of those choices, the yearling sighed and tucked her tail closer to her small frame. At least the scenery was nice.

The falls were a glorious sight to see, and Raylan was not ashamed to admit he enjoyed the view. The cascading water was like music to his ears, and he found his eyes closing as he rumbled out a low hum, almost singing along to the tune the water made in his mind. It was peaceful times like these that he liked to, well, stop and sniff the roses, though there were no roses here. As a wolf who was always on the move, he found it essential to ground himself in the moment now and then, and allow himself to connect with the earth, lest he lose his way.
As his eyes opened, he spotted a tiny figure of a wolf seated at the base of the falls, and without a moment of hesitation he ambled his way over, tail amicably waving behind him. "Enjoying the view lass?" Raylan said as he got closer, a wide grin on his face as he looked over the myriad of blues, greens, and yellows on her coat. She was an interesting contrast to his own red and yellow shades, and part of him wondered what she was doing out all alone, looking seemingly a little... sad. Well, he'd do his best to cheer her up then.

Though the fae had been lost in her thoughts, they weren't so loud that they drowned out the stranger's approach. Her star-dusted crown swiveled instinctively as she became aware of his presence, her brilliant gaze sweeping quickly over his charcoal and umber coat. Interestingly enough, Noelie found his patterning and crimson eyes to be the least remarkable thing about him.

Her tail gave a few welcoming waves, sweeping across the ground as her maw tipped upward to view him. He was unexpectedly tall, towering over her small frame in an almost comical fashion.. or perhaps he was normal, and she was just short. Back home the yearling would have been considered average, with adults being both slightly taller and slightly smaller than herself, but here it seemed that range varied incredibly. Having had very little experience with wolves outside of the Sound before this, Noelie couldn't help but wonder if there was something in the water, either here or back home that stunted or enhanced growth. Surely it couldn't have been a problem on her end, though, not when the ancestors had blessed their waters.

"Oh, uh.. yeah, I guess I was." Just a tiny lie. "Is that what you're here for?" Her head turned then, quickly taking in the scenery that she hadn't paid nearly enough attention to before finding him again.
