Ichor bounced on his toes as he and his significantly bigger twin bound over to the tournament grounds. They were up pretty early and Ichor was beyond excited to get to get to fight in front of his family. "Come on Viscera!" He exclaimed as they neared their spot. Their opponents were notably older than the two boys but Ichor wasn't really worried, he was used to fighting bigger wolves, though he didn't have a ton of experience with fighting adults he figured this wasn't quite that different considering he was basically the smallest wolf in every situation so he was about as ready as he always was.

Ichor eyed up their opponents, he nudged his brother with his shoulder and then raced forwards, head dipping low as he rushed in towards the smaller of the two, the pale woman. (Caelia) He rushed forward, jaws parting as he aimed to scoop up the right forepaw of the pale woman, and sink his sharp little teeth in her toes if he could.

CAUSE YOU CAN'T GET INTO HEAVEN The pale youth sauntered along after his rambunctious twin as Ichor all but sprinted to the tourney grounds, barreling towards the makeshift arena where their opponents were already waiting. They were both adults, but that didn't really bug Vis all that much. It just meant neither of the boys needed to hold back for fear of being too rough! Oversized paws beat against the earth in staccato rhythm as he picked up the pace to keep up with his brother, already raring for a brawl with a couple of adults. This would be so different from his spars with his siblings! Well, perhaps a little. As the pair closed in, it became obvious that both of their opponents were armoured rather well, and based on the fact that they were adults it stood to reason that they were almost certainly better fighters than the young males. The brute, in particular, was quite a bit bigger than Viscera and clad in pale brown leather armour over his back and flanks. Rich green leather covered the male's thick forelimbs, which left them as a poor option for his initial attack. From the corner of his vision, he watched his tiny twin sprint headlong towards the pale fae and go straight for her feet. That left the alrge male to Viscera. Well, best not leave the man waiting! Lowering his head to be level with his shoulders and spine, the young Klein darted to his left and tried to circle around the male's right side. If his front half was going to be off limits for a good ole bite and flee, then the back half would have to be his target. Talon clad paws tore kicked up dust and dirt in his wake as he sought to shoot around the big guy's right flank and lunge for the meaty part of his right thigh. Narrow jaws parted, and needle-sharp fangs sought to sink into the area a few inches beneath the man's right knee, upper teeth winking into the inner thigh and bottom teeth into the outer thigh. While he was out there, he wanted to try and grab hold of the lower portion of the ankle with his deadly forepaws, curling his talons inward in the hopes of throwing Cairo off-balance as he tried to shake him off like an errant burr. It was time for the tournament to begin, and Cairo had paired with Caelia. For once in such a long time, his easy grin was on his face without too much effort, and he had donned his fighting armor, with all the pouches removed and left with Aurielle, who wasn’t participating in the fights, herself. Enito and Chrysta were with him, the mandrill grumbling about the crafting he could be doing right now instead of fighting for play. The owl was silent, but a glance up told Cairo the owl’s silver eyes were glinting with birdlike amusement at the monkey’s pithy remarks. They met with their first set of opponents, twin pups that looked rather like Ardyn and Aoife in terms of how big one would grow and how small one would stay. The smaller went for Caelia, and Cairo watched the other boy, his own defenses settling lightly as Enito hung back, waiting for an opening if it came where he was needed, and Chrystal circled above, watching Cairo’s back in case the other pup broke from Caelia and went for Cairo’s backside. The pup took a slightly more tactical approach, and Cairo stilled, watching the boy’s eyes and body. Good try; Viscera didn’t bother with a full head-on sprint, instead attempting to circle to Cairo’s right and dart in for his hind end. Cairo waited until the last breath before twisting on his front end, hind end whipping to his in a bound as he sought to bring himself in line with Viscera, seeking to have his right side to the boy’s left side, shoulder level with the boy’s hips. His swift movement took him out of the boy’s reach and evaded the bite and the talon-like claws raking for his ankle. He pushed off as soon as his hind paws hit the ground a heartbeat later, aiming to snap his head to his right as he aimed to come up abreast of the boy and clamp parted jaws on the boy’s scruff, just behind the skull and gain a grip. His right foreleg simultaneously sought to snap up, weight shifting to his other three legs for support, tail out for balance, and plant itself over Viscera’s hips, seeking to drag the boy off his center of balance and maybe topple him. Caelia wasn't sure why she and her brother had been paired up with kids - like, actual children - but she knew better than to underestimate them. She knew a thing or two about getting bested by wolves younger than her. What they likely lacked in experience and training they made up for in naivety and unpredictability. Studying them quietly, she reacted swiftly when one of the boys charged her. Her posture stiffened, muscles readying for the weight of a strike. Instead of pummeling right into her though Ichor took a different approach, jaws parting and snatching up her right paw, sinking his teeth into her toes. The pain was swift but not debilitating, though distracting enough with her weight shifting to her other four legs. As he leaned down she too parted her jaws and aimed to strike, hoping to sink her teeth into the scruff at the back of his neck and pull - hoping she could maybe get him to refocus from her paw and give her full mobility before she made her next move. Success! Ichor's fangs sunk into the woman's toes, he suddenly became very focused on his attack. A single instinct pushed through his mind. Ichor tried to clamp down and shake. He wanted to tear, to rip, to rend. It was what his teeth were good for. His one-track mind left him very open to the most basic of his weaknesses, being scruffed like a pup (which he was in fact but even now Ichor seemed aware of the fact this would continue on even as he aged but hardly grew). He felt teeth grip the back of his neck and instinct or something else kicked in, his jaw releasing as he was pulled off of the woman's paw.

He grunted, a little puppy grunt of frustration, Ichor's ears pulled back and he dangled from the woman's jaw, so small she could easily lift him off the ground. He tried to tilt his head back to fix the woman with the dirtiest glare he could manage, not that he could even see her face from his vantage point. "Let go!" He said angrily, curling himself tight and then kicking out with his hind legs, up and out hoping to slam his back paws into the woman's lower jaw, force her to let him go, he'd take the fall if it meant escaping his current disadvantaged situation.

CAUSE YOU CAN'T GET INTO HEAVEN At just the last moment, his larger opponent pivoted on a dime and moved his entire hind leg out of reach in a flash. Snarling with frustration, he retracted the paw that was grasping furtively at empty air. In the moments that followed, there was the all too familiar graze of teeth through champagne fur as the man sought to scruff him- which was so uncool, honestly. Before the real force could be applied to his neck, the boy sought to flinch just out of reach. It was a move that pissed his mother off to no end, juking her out when she was trying to put him in time-out. While the thick fangs of his opponent clamped down on downy ruff fur and tore the hairs out from the roots in one big clump, he snapped his own skull to his right and craned his neck backwards to lunge for the softest portion of his shoulder, right above the bend of his elbow. If the back leg was out of reach, this leg certainly wasn't! Slender jaws parted and needle-like fangs aimed to sink into the thin skin that stretched up from the bony point of his elbow and up into the thick fur of the shoulder- beyond the protection of the bracers that covered Cairo's forelegs. There was the tiniest gap in the armour there, just enough for a pup's little jaws to slip into and strike! Of course, this didn't give him the time to dodge the hold that Cairo sought to wrangle him with. That same foreleg started to lift as he tried to sink his fangs into it, forcing him to try and chase after the retreating joint as it pinned his hips beneath its heavy weight. Just as he thought he was about to get a grip on that soft and vulnerable upper elbow, he felt a sharp jerk of a heavy paw against his left hip. Oop, uh oh- he wasn't focusing on balance. Already he could feel his right knee bending involuntarily, and his weight was beginning to teeter dangerously into the "flop over unceremoniously" zone. Here's hoping that he could get a good grip on Cairo and keep himself from completely eating shit in his first official fight against an adult! Though his wicked talons fought for purchase in the dirt, he was at an awkward angle already. His teeth only caught a little fur as the pup ducked away, but that was a good thing as the boy’s head aimed toward him, jaws seeking the foreleg he sought to topple the boy with. Cairo’s teeth swiftly switched targets with a faint grunt of approval, and he aimed to counter the boy, seeking to plant his teeth on either side of the boy’s muzzle, upper canines seeking a grip on the boy’s left cheek, lower canines seeking to plant in Viscera’s left cheek. His paw had landed successfully and he sought to jerk the grip he had and drag the boy further toward himself, and hopefully all the way off his paws to the ground. He could just barely see Caelia and the other boy from the corner of his eye and had a faint tickle of amusement in his belly at the glimpse he caught. He’d have to tease her about prying little gremlins off her feet later. His own opponent was tenacious, certainly, and both would likely be formidable with more training and experience, and he wouldn’t put it out of reach for the smaller to be a deadly creature - size meant nothing, just a smaller target that could get in and out in a flash. The young wolf didn't seem to let up on his attack, at least not at first. While she'd expected him to be feisty, she hadn't expected him to attack quite this viciously already. The pain in her paw was unmistakable, but still she succeeded in scruffing him and lifting him up. Though she was definitely larger than him, her strengths lie in being swift on her paws rather than strong - and so she felt the strain in her back from the weight of the large pup. Fortunately for her he let go of her paw, allowing her a moment to rebalance herself and maintain her grip on him. But of course he didn't let up there. He began to kick, and hard. His glare nearly made her lose her composure all together but she held down strong on the bite, at least until he kicked her square in her lower jaw. She let out a little grunt of surprise as her jaws slackened, likely dropping the boy on the ground, though she immediately rushed him again and tried to bring one of her front paws up and around his back, hoping to keep him down on the ground even if not scruffed.
