There was a lot to do at the festival. Though he was mainly here to get Finan out and about and interacting with others, Cloud decided to partake in the tournament just for the hell of it. He didn't particularly care if he got past the first round or not, but what the hell, right? A little friendly sparring wouldn't hurt. When he was paired up and called to the ring, Cloud briefly glanced at his partner and their opponents. He didn't really recognize any of them, though one of the young boys did look a bit familiar. While he had never met him, the crimson kid had the telltale resemblance to his half-brother, Ignis. What was that guy up to these days? He knew the Northern pack wasn't around anymore, but beyond that, Cloud didn't know what his estranged family was up to. None of them were as close as they used to be. Maybe it was just the curse of Elias' bloodline or something. Whatever the case, he wasn't here to sit around and think about it all. He was here to fight, and that's what he aimed to do. Without so much as a warning, he bolted towards the smaller of the two. While he was indifferent to his...nephew? He didn't want him to think he was out to get him or whatever. Cloud wasn't a huge supporter of Ignis, but then again, he hardly knew the guy. He stopped supporting most of his family since Ty abandoned him for the upteenth time and since Acere died, and the only one he'd been supporting lately was Finan since he was an orphan. He aimed to close the distance between him and Cerberus, teeth bared as he sought to slam the younger male with his chest and hopefully, unbalance him a bit if not bruise him. The time had come-- the real reason that Viðarr had ventured this far south. Sure, a festival was cool and all, but he was in it for the tournament. For a chance to further sharpen his skills and see how he stacked up against the best this new land had to offer. It was a paired tournament, and he hadn't been able to convince Róta or Sanngriðr to play along, but that was fine. He'd been paired up with a stranger, but hell, the best bonds were formed where there was blood to be spilled. Ah right, these were meant to be friendly spars. Still.

Upon further inspection of their opponents as they entered the ring, Viðarr realized that both were boys rather than men. Well, it wasn't an uncommon sight, at least in his homeland to see boys this young using exhibitions like this as good practice. Still, the shadow knew that he'd meter each blow. Cloudburst engaged upon the smaller of the pair, and Viðarr matched his step towards the longer. Yes, they'd bolt in that direction, the shadow putting on a show. A fight. An audience. He'd get to feel alive again.

It was an attempt to force himself into Cináed's space, leading with his shoulder. Success in his mind would look like a collision to his right side, hard enough to unbalance the yearling. Viðarr wouldn't stop pushing, driving forward and up with his powerful hind legs. His teeth glimmered in the carnival's lights as he parted his lips, seeking for anything of the red man's that was close enough to reach-- neck, shoulder, the side of the face, any of it would be good enough for now. Viðarr would do his best to maintain close quarters, knowing it benefitted his larger frame to do so.

Since Chimera had let some of his kids come up to the festival he decided to recruit Cerberus to be his partner in the tournament once he heard that they were to be done in pairs. The other boy was a couple seasons younger than himself, but from what he had seen he knew Chimera's oldest son could hold his own just fine so he was sure that Cerberus would be a fine fighting partner. He didn't really know who else in the pack to ask anyway since Chimera would be fighting alongside Dalila. Cerberus was one of the few he had interacted with a few times so if for no other reason than convenience he brought his fellow Fenmyre pack mate along with him. They squared off against two monochromatic males, one more solidly dark furred than the other. The lighter of the two was closer to Cerberus' size and he very nearly matched the darker of the two who he found out was named Víðarr as their opponents were announced. Being just over a season from his second birthday Ciná had reached his full height and had mostly filled out, only a few small hints of his adolescence still hanging on.

Their opponents kicked off the fight first so he quickly shifted into a defensive stance as he prepared to intercept them. The black and white marked male went for Cerberus so he focused on Víðarr, bracing himself as the older brute charged at him. Instead of trying to take the brunt of the man's attack as he through his shoulder into his side, Ciná took a glancing blow off his left side before dancing to the left to let his opponent hopefully stumble forward or at least keep running past him. He'd take some light bruising to the front part of his ribs, but that wasn't too bad. The male also snapped at him, his teeth grazing his side near his hip, leaving some small lacerations in his wake. Ciná spun around, reaching for Víðarr's back right leg to try and grab somewhere near his ankle, digging his paws into the ground and pushing back with his hind legs to try and pull the limb out from under him and try to force him to fall.

"Cináed"

Chimera had known how badly Cerberus wanted to experience and learn more after his loss in the raid versus Elysium. He had been so secluded to his family most of his life but he had been around Cina a few times, just around the pack and during the raid. They weren't best buddies or anything though, he liked him enough at least. Though Cerberus wasn't really dislikable anyway.

When they faced off against their opponents, he didn't linger on observing their ages or frames long. He was only here for some fun and the battle experience. When the one man started to close the distance between them and start moving towards him, Cerberus would never know that the man was actually Viper's uncle. He would never know by his looks alone.

He didn't go to move away from the brute who came chest to chest with him, there was no need to evade his attack with being closer in size to him. As the brute's jaws pulled around and parted taking hold of his target, Cerberus too mirrored an attempted bite attack to his scruff, closer to the front of his shoulder. He tried to push his more lengthy and awkward weight into his opponent, if nothing else just trying to find a solid ground between them. He tried to observe Cina's actions too so he could learn from them but it was a little difficult being locked in his own battle.

His jaws had managed to connect as did his chest slam. The younger male had made no effort to get out of the way, and that was fine by him. He gripped his opponent's scruff, refusing to let go, and instead, chose to grip harder and shook his head in an effort to shake up his opponent and disorient him. As Cerberus sought to grab at his scruff, however, Cloud shifted his body closer to Cerberus in an effort to get almost parallel to him (side by side) and sought to shove his shoulder into the younger male, hoping to compromise his opponent's balance and keep him from letting his bite connect at such an awkward angle. As he maneuvered himself, his osprey swooped down and aimed to claw at their opponent's head to distract him before sweeping back into the air. At the same time, Cloud's right forepaw aimed to pull Cerberus' front paw towards him to further try and compromise his balance. He wasn't really trying to hurt anyone, but he also wanted to end this quickly before his demon decided play time was over... Fights like this were good fun, and Viðarr was enjoying himself more than he cared to admit. His eyes danced, and he remained steady on his feet. A damn good time, if he did say so himself. The taste of the red boy's blood in his mouth, ah yes-- this certainly was a fight. Fight, and fight they would. Somewhere in the shadow's mind he knows that Cloudburst fights as well, and he holds his own well. Ah yes, all of it, beautiful. Breath in his lungs deep, pulse beginning to pick up. Excellent. All of it excellent.

The boy moved quickly, and Viðarr was doing his best to keep up. While he grabbed for the shadow's leg sure, he'd find it. Viðarr could feel the sting of breaking skin, tearing it even further as he wrenched free of the child's grasp. There was blood-- he could smell it, he could feel it running hot down to his paws and the ground. A laugh cursed his chest, coursed through his entire system. Gods, how he loved it. It's as if he could feel Tyr's hand on his own shoulder, clapping him in the back. All raw power, Viðarr turned tightly, not wanting to allow Cináed to take space. Relentless as the shadow was, he knew that his larger form had its disadvantages too. Teeth gnashing, it's a reckless attack-- a berserker's attack. They'd come in quick succession, and there was no telling for even Viðarr where or if they'd land. No, all he wants is to stay near enough to the young man to remain effective. That would be enough, for now.

Ciná did manage to grab the male's leg, but he wasn't able to keep the grip. The heavier man yanked his leg free from Cináed teeth, tearing the skin worse in the process. Cináed didn't wait around to see what kind of damage exactly he had done, instead resetting his defensive position as the dark coated male turned back toward him. The brute charged toward him with jaws snapping and Ciná stayed on the defensive, hopping back and dodging side to side to use his slightly lighter build to his advantage so that he could dodge most of Víðarr's wild, seemingly blindly placed attacks. Víðarr did manage a glancing blow across his shoulder and caught the edge of one of his legs at some point, leaving shallow marks. Since he couldn't get an attack in to retaliate his hawk and mastiff did the work for him. The raptor swooped in to try and claw at the top of Víðarr's head with its fire agate talons while his mastiff went for the older wolf's back legs, biting at his ankles.

"Cináed"

The brute had shook violently at his scruff, causing probably a little more damage than Cerberus was expecting but nothing lethal. The brute side stepped out of Cerberus' reach causing his grab to seek nothing but air. Quickly, Cerberus dove down to push the front of his shoulder into the brute's own, at the same time going to move both of his paws around Cloud's foreleg in a hug like fashion. He heard the bird fluttering over his head, carefully poking at the back of his skull and behind his ears. Finally, Cerberus went to throw all of his weight forward, jumping off his hind legs and wanting to flip both him and Cloud over their heads together with the brute in his paw's grasp.
