They'd started to settle in. Gin didn't really mind it so much. Frankly, she thought she'd dislike pack life more than she actually did. It wasn't as stifling as expected, and being busy for once was actually pretty nice. The ghost had kept up her strange sleeping schedule though, and remained largely reclusive during the day. Really, she was looking forward to the predators being driven from the Maze itself. Once she'd been assured it was safe, she'd be able to set up the infirmary and beside it, her own room. That would be ideal.

For the time being, Gin needed to figure out which plants grew well in this climate. She moved carefully away from the Maze, grateful for the cover of night. The moon hung high and bright in the sky, ever watchful. A comfort. The ghost moved west, gaze trained on the vegetation, seeking anything that could be useful. Herbs yes, but there were others too. Hemp would be among the most useful, as well as vines, things that could be spun into sturdy ropes. There was also a hope that she could find citronella growing out here-- if crushed, it would keep the bugs away. With the amount of rain they'd been having, soon there would be standing water. Standing water would attract mosquitos and just... ew. No thank you.

As the massive granite stones came into view, Gin's breath was momentarily stolen from her lungs. Her eyes went wide. There was power here... incredible power. She could feel it in her bones. She could feel it in her chest. An ache that was acute, but also... incredible. The gods, all of them, were close. The significance of this place wasn't lost on her, especially in the moonlight.

"What're ya doin'?" The yearling called curiously, peeping her head out from behind one of the runestones.  After finding her new platypus companion the young girl decided that there really wasn't any harm in checking out the south for a little bit longer.  After all, who knew when the next time she'd find herself all the way down here would be.  By the time she slowly made her way to the runestones from grapevine cathedral, however, it had gotten quite dark outside and Yalwan wan was starting to look sleepy.  These strange rocks seemed like cover enough for one night, so this was where they would settle.  But now there was someone else here too, and they appeared to be absolutely enthralled with something.  Was it the rocks?

A voice. It wasn't an adult voice, no. Gin couldn't help but flinch upon hearing it, more startled than she'd maybe care to admit. It's hard to get used to company again, after being alone for so long. After rarely having company. Right. No, that was a child. That wasn't someone she needed to fear. A child... who had asked her a question. Gin's gaze flickered from the brilliant glow of the runestones to the source of the sound. Right.

What're ya doin' the words had come. It takes Gin a moment to sort out exactly what she wants to say, how she wants to answer. Social anxiety was... less than ideal sometimes, and her thoughts were spinning in too many directions. All of them rolling away, just out of reach. No. Right, placing them down, sticking them in one location. Thoughts. "Studying the stones, I haven't seen any like them before." The words were clear, colored with a lilt of a strange accent. Something far off. Somewhere far off. Gin comes from both places, of course, both something and somewhere. Her gaze settles on the yearling girl for a moment. Why was a yearling out, alone, in the dark?

"What are you doing?" Sure, it would be fair to ask the same question.

So she'd been correct in thinking it was the rocks that caught the attention of the stranger.  Fir couldn't say she blamed her, as they were definitely obscure.  Truth of the matter was that the yearling also hadn't seen anything quite like this before. It was like the strange symbols on them were almost glowing.  She wondered what the symbols even meant.  "Yalwan wan needed to rest." she motioned to the platypus snoozing soundly inches away from where she'd been laying.

Carefully standing up so that she might not wake her new sleepy companion, Fir walked a few steps closer to the woman and sat back down.  "At first I thought they could be grave markers, but I ain't never heard of nobody burying bodies in a circle before.  Also don't know much about death customs in general though, pretty sure my people just let the swamp take ya or somethin'." at least that had been her educated guess, she'd never actually asked.
