Reila’s leg was freshly healed but still just felt a little unstable and off. But the small woman wouldn’t have shown so. It wasn’t the first time she broke a leg or a bone. She was rather resilient and numb to physical inflictions and general worries.

She had opened up a little to the healers who assisted her recovery and Chimera, or at least just seemed more comfortable around them. That actually wasn’t very difficult for her. The emotional baggage she was carrying however was something entirely different.

Reila was eager to get out and hunt for the pack. Not herself, she had silently set this goal to pay back a debt to Fenmyre for taking such good care of her without being asked of course. Going out on this hunt had been on her mind for a while. Maybe she was about to push herself a little too far but she wouldn’t have even considered to slow down. She started breaking apart shrubbery around the grove and lining and stacking it into a funnel type path.

"Reila"

"Do you think you're healed enough for a hunting trip?" The Fenmyre King had noticed the broken woman leaving the territory and slinking off. He imagined she might be trying to run away and something about that bothered the man. After all they'd done for her, she was just going to flee? So, he followed Reila at a distance, keeping track of where she was going. In the end, she surprised him but setting up a little funnel in the land with brush and debris. She was clearly hunting, but whether she intended to come back or not, he still didn't know.

Having made his presence known to the woman, Chimera stood there beneath one of the many trees in the grove. His mismatched eyes settled hard on the woman as he waited for some sort of explanation. He still didn't know her well enough to be able to gauge her true intentions. She'd make them known now.

"I'll be fine." She assured the king brute who joined alongside her on her way out of the pack lands. It wasn't a lie, because had something happened to her she would be just that. But no, she probably wasn't ready to be out running and hunting. She would force herself to work.

She constructed a funnel-like path but decided to close it off in the end. Chimera seemed to just be observing her actions, maybe even making a mental test. That was fine with her.

Reila lined out a weeping vine before starting to tie a loop on the end, probably an odd addition to her trap but she had plans. Pulling the other end of the vine through the loop, she looked up to Chimera with a raised brow and small smile, "Have you ever lassoed before?"

"Reila"

The woman assured him that she would be fine and didn't seem at all like she'd been caught doing something that she shouldn't. Chimera responded with a low rumble, but said nothing in response. He watched her for a time, trying to figure out what in the hell she was doing. She shut off the one end of the chute, which he could understand. When she started working with vines, however, he couldn't help but arch a brow in question. Was she going to set a snare at the end of the chute?

Reila questioned him about lassoing and the man huffed lightly. "I've never had a need," he admitted. His strength and size was enough to bring down prey, but he could see why such a thing might be beneficial to one so small. "Show me how it's done," he spoke, waiting for her to either explain or give him a demonstration.

Reila looked back down at her paw and the vine as she started tying a knot on the other end and then placed the loop around the higher portion of her healthy leg before tightening the knot more. "It's not really easy. It can be fun though just to do something different." She paused in her voice but kept working, the thoughts of how she had used a lasso in a tournament pushed out of her mind quickly. "You tie one side to you, the other side you tie this loop and feed through the other end. That way it tightens around the prey when you get a hold on it." She started to roll up the long vine, putting the length of it over her head and before she went to grab the lasso loop in her mouth, she looked to Chimera silently, "You are free to stay here, or if you want to come along for the chase that is alright too."

"Reila"

Again he watched as she worked with the vine, setting it up just the way that she needed it. He imagined she'd done this several times before and was slightly eager to see the woman in action. She offered to let him run with her or stay here and it was almost comical to the man. This was the second time that she'd subtly suggested that he had his place and she had hers. Offer or no offer, Chimera did as he wished. If she wasn't a coward and she stayed with Fenmyre, she'd learn that.

"I have a feeling you'll hurt yourself if I don't come along and I really don't want to carry you all the way back to Fenmyre," he joked a bit, but there was no humor in his eyes. He didn't want to carry her back, but he would if necessary. "Lead the way," he gestured with one paw. Following wasn't something that he did often. At least she had a shapely, err... Well, she'd better not get used to it.

She huffed a quiet laugh as he suggested he didn't want to have to carry her back. "I suppose that means you like my company then?" She too was joking, but her tone was much more obvious than his. He expected her to be back in pack at least. She knew the offer was there for her to stay, but she wouldn't expect to be well... wanted. Even if it was only to see her recovery through.

"Well then," She gestured with a point of her nose out into the farther reaches of the grove. She would resume silently on their tracking, it was at least common sense. She wouldn't have dismissed Chimera though. The scent of gazelle caught her attention, and she went to move around in the brush to avoid making their presence known.

Reila was cheeky and part of Chimera appreciated it. Ali could be cheeky, but for the most part, everyone simply did what he said and didn't push buttons. Being cheeky could be pushed too far though, so he hoped that the woman knew to balance herself out. Attitude could be tedious to deal with. As a slave, he imagined that she'd been taught that lesson more than once. To her sass, he didn't respond.

As the speckled fae started off on her hunt, Chimera followed like some silent, two toned shadow. Being well skilled in the art of hunting, it was easy for him to move along silently, despite his size. As they moved, he caught the smell of gazelle as well and was rather intrigued. He looked forward to seeing her lasso one of the fast moving creatures. Once she had it... how was she going to kill it? Especially with her healing leg.

With being given the lead, Reila looked to Chimera with a short glance before moving around the gazelle in the clearing and waiting for a moment to give him the nod of a go ahead before leaping forward, Also before doing so, she pressed her freshly healed leg against the soil's surface almost in testing it and hoping Chimera wouldn't have noticed in their distance.

Jumping out from the brush, she moved alongside her hunting partner, keeping their prey in line towards the make-shift corral. She could feel her leg being weak in her strides, but she pushed through and made do with what she had.

They made it closer into the corral, and she dropped her head to drop the length of her vine in front of her still while she ran. She shot the lasso towards the gazelle from her mouth, showing some sort of strange and unique skill that she had. The lasso caught around the neck of the gazelle and Reila stood her ground as it started to fight the tension between her and the prey. Placing her paws down on the rope, she moved closer to the deer-like creature making sure she could get close enough to it before going in for the final attack.

Following the woman gave him time to get yet another good look at her from a different perspective. She was long, lean and light. A figure that he quite appreciated. Yes, he had a delightful plethora of lovers at home, but there was no harm in looking. Chimera was a cad. He couldn't help himself. So, as they made their way to where the gazelle grazed, he enjoyed his little eyeful.

Since he had been looking, he did indeed note the way that she favored her weak leg. The man's brow furrowed in concern and he almost said something about it, but Reila gave chase. The gazelle scattered, but that didn't matter. She had one in her sights and Chimera followed along, helping to herd it down the chute that she'd crafted. He pulled back a bit as she worked her magic with the lasso, watching with interest as the slipknot tightened around the neck of her prey. Reila struggled as the gazelle bucked and fought. Chimera thought that was enough.

With the gazelle caught, the giant man pushed by the smaller fae and pounced, mashing the ungulate into the ground. Its legs kicked, but feebly beneath the weight of the dire beast. He looked pointedly to Reila. This was her hunt, so this was her kill.

They ran along beside each other working together in their chase of the gazelle. She wasn't used to team work quite like this, at least the idea that Chimera wasn't being forced to be here with her today. Almost as if taming the creature, it wasn't necessarily difficult for Reila to find the control in the tie between her and the prey. But Chimera's help wasn't unwanted. He pounced onto the wild creature, holding it down still while it struggled and attempted to escape his grasp. It's small frame was no match for the giant dire.

Finding the rope between her and the gazelle loose as he held it down and she grew closer, she noticed the look he gave her to finish her own hunt. She didn't linger long. Finding her own paw on the gazelle's shoulder and close to Chimera, she leaned down to take it at the throat for a quick and easy kill. Her jaws grasped over the pulsing deer's throat, and didn't let go as the struggle slowed and it's life was ending. She grasped around it harder, the taste and smell of it's blood overwhelming her. Chimera may or may not have noticed the change in her, but at least the hold she kept on the gazelle's throat went on longer than it should have. Her eyes were gently closed, not in a strain. The thing was lifeless, and yet she was still holding it like it could come back from the dead and hurt her.

"Reila"

The woman rushed in and sank her teeth into the slender throat of the gazelle. It did something for Chimera and he found himself watching Reila intently as she made her kill. The fae's eyes were closed, but loosely. She looked almost as though she was dreaming as the life left the gazelle. When she didn't release the throat of her kill, Chimera sat up, his job done. He looked down at the fae. "You can let go, Reila." Had he ever spoken her name before? Giving her shoulder a little tap with a giant, black- toed paw, the man set to work.

Removing the lasso from around the dead gazelle's throat, he pushed it back towards Reila. Chimera then used teeth and claws to rip open the belly of the deer, spilling its guts out onto the ground. It would make hauling the thing back much easier as most of the weight was held in the innards. He assumed she was going back, but he needed to be sure.

The bloodied man licked his chops, then looked towards the speckled woman once more. "You aren't an official member. Do you plan to return to Fenmyre or were you running away?" He didn't want the woman to leave. She was a bit of a mystery and the two-toned man quite liked that. He wasn't thinking of her in a romantic sense or anything like that, but she was intriguing.

Reila was lost in her own head until Chimera's voice came through her ears and made a breakthrough to her. She backed up off the gazelle and a couple more steps away, watching Chimera as he split the deer's insides out on the ground. She was silent, but inside she was on fire. Her breathing was off as she still tasted the blood of the gazelle in her mouth, looking at it's innards in the ground. It wasn't something that grossed her out, it was just something taking her back into her traumatizing days that weren't so far in the past.

The glaze in her eyes was lifeless, and maybe a little scared. But when Chimera turned to talk to her again, she was able to regain herself. Even if more emotionless than when they started their hunt. "I was not running away." She stated quickly, but not bluntly. She could have told him the hunt was for the pack as a thank you, but she didn't. She couldn't even really pull her thoughts together properly right now. "I don't want to leave. But does that mean I want to stay?" That was an honest question from her. She wanted him to answer. All she had known was the life on the ship and traveling while on sale. She couldn't say if her being inside the pack was something she truly wanted, or if she had this exaggerated slice of heaven around her. It was an entirely different way of life. But she couldn't believe she would be happier anywhere else. Not with the thoughts that were still plaguing her mind. She was willing to settle without doing a run around or staying on the run wondering if she would ever be caught by Atlas.

"Reila"

He could almost feel the wave of negative emotion pour off of the woman and, as he turned to look at her, caught the edges of her former expression as she slid her mask back in place. Reila assured him that she wasn't running away and it brought him a bit of relief. "That's good," he spoke softly. Had she run, she would have lost the safety that the pack provided. Had Atlas come to collect her, he would have had no qualms in pointing them in her direction.

Reila then went on to say that she didn't want to leave, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to stay. Chimera's brow furrowed. "That's something that you need to figure out before you're fully healed." He hinted at her, letting her know that he'd seen the way she favored her leg. "You're obviously able to hunt, so you'd be an asset to the pack. That also means that you're able to care for yourself if you wish."

"Let's head back," he spoke again, reaching down to latch his teeth into the hollowed out gazelle. It wasn't nearly as heavy now and gazelle were so slender that it was little trouble to drag along. After a while he'd have to swap sides or throw the carcass over his back, but he liked the workout.
