Merrick didn't like many things, but he really didn't like bears. That was how he'd gotten the pretty scars on his face. A fighting pit with a bear while on one of his excursions with the ship. He'd been drunk, of course, but he had never liked bears after that. So, when a bear showed up in his path acting all big and bad, well... he had to teach a lesson, now didn't he?

The massive brown bear stood up on hind paws and roared in outrage and Merrick, per usual, roared back. Taking advantage of the bears bipedal stance, the scarred brute rocketed forward, slamming his shoulder into the bears midsection. The ursine tumbled backwards and the giant wolf was upon it, teeth ripping into the fatty flesh of its belly.

"Merrick Mendacium"

Kichi had been doing the same thing to do as he had the day before and the one before that, hunting for something to kill. He was running into a number of wolves lately on all his excursions. This time was no exception. Kichi paused for a moment at the sight of the wolf slamming into the bear.

Torch approached behind Kichi, glancing at the fight then back at Kichi and expressing his opinion with a mighty water deer bark. Kichi’s lip flicked back in a small smile before he ran towards the pear. Kichi ran up behind the bear, grabbing its back leg in his mouth, crushing down, jerking his head, and attempting to pull the leg back with him, making the bear work to keep its balance if it wanted to stay up. The bear made some form of agitated or pained noise as Kichi bit in but with the other wolf going for the belly it was the biggest threat. Kichi let go long enough to get a better bite, a little further into the leg.

"Kichi"

Much to Merrick's surprise, another wolf jumped into the fray. Two sets of teeth now bit into the bear from different ends. While the big purple giant bit into the bears stomach, the younger wolf bit into a leg. The bear thrashed and squealed and, due to its superior bulk, soon began to roll over, forcing Merrick away from its belly.

The hulking beast growled, blood on his lips as he circled the bear. With the ursine's attention on him, he hoped that the boy would attack. In the meantime, the amaranthine brute made little rushing attacks, nipping here and there, then dancing back to avoid getting swiped or bitten.

"Merrick Mendacium"

The bear had lowered its bulky form over and the other wolf seemed willing to take the attention away from Kichi. The silver wolf leaped up onto the bears back, a second bound to lunge in forward and latch his teeth onto the giant's neck. It took an extra second to get a mouthful to grip and dig into the neck, squeezing through and shaking it. The bear reared up again, Kichi’s legs scrabbled for purchase, still attached to the bear simply by the grip of his teeth in the bear’s neck.

With the other wolf below the bear was forced to lower back down and Kichi’s feet found purchase again. One more yank of his head and the blood sprayed free, the bear’s thrashing having helped to tear the injury open more. Kichi leaped off with a mouthful of bear flesh and blood. He wasn’t sure the odds of having managed to stay on another round if the bear had lifted him up again.


"Kichi"

The younger brute jumped in, grabbing the side of the bear's throat and taking all of the beasts attention. That was what Merrick needed. The dire bastard launched himself towards the bear, grabbing its throat on the opposite side. Again he thrashed his head back and forth, tearing great rends in fat and muscle. Blood began to pour forth in rivers as both wolves ripped into their quarry. The bear knew that it had lost and was fighting to backpedal and retreat, but it was too late. One or both of the wolves had severed arteries that were pumping thick, rich blood from the bear with each beat of its heart.

Merrick released his hold as his paws began to slip in the puddles of blood. The purple brute was covered in claret and there was a satisfied grin on his features. He stalked forward, following the backtracking bear until its body gave out. The grizzly crashed to the ground, groaned a few times and was dead.

"Merrick Mendacium"

Merrick had the bear’s throat and was ripping into it well. Kichi came back in determined to see the game until it was done. Likewise, he got the bear's throat, reaching up for a piece higher up part of the neck where wounds already were located, peeling it back, enlargening the wound.

The two wolves had made a mess of the bear’s neck and it started to try and escape. No, no Kichi wasn’t done yet. He let go but only to grab the bear around the shoulder joint, biting in and opening up a new wound to chomp, then rechomp into for digging in. The bear roared in delicious pain as a tool to help it get away was now damaged as well. The bear tried vainly to swipe at Kichi but its blood was flowing out fast and Kichi just kept tearing in. Finally, the bear was still, the fun over.

Kichi licked some of the blood off his face with a grin, satisfied with their victory.
