Kotori lay in his cave, sulking and scowling at the wall.  He’d gotten the exact den he wanted, one that you had to climb up a bit higher to reach and assured more privacy.  Piles of pelts lay on the floor of his cave.  It was all quite comfortable.  Kotori stood up and stalked out of his cave and made the way to the area that was to be used for training where he howled a call for the new wolf Keahi to come to meet him

He'd done the day's assignments but he wasn’t ready to rest.  His heart ached and he really wanted to bite someone.  Might as well try to do some work and bite someone in the name of working.  Training time.

"Kotori Fatalis"

Keahi is busy doing chores, moving things into the stores, disturbing pelts as need, the usually things a new member of a pack might be expected to do. It keeps her moving which helps to stave off the cold chill of the winter air, so the red wolf has thrown herself into helping any chance she can.

However, a howl catches her off guard and her head swiveling in the direction of the call. Quickly, Keahi sets aside the pelts she is carrying and moves off to answer the summons. The call of a prince is not something to ignore and, since Kotori had been gracious enough to train her, the red wolf will not leave him waiting long.

The training area soon appears and Keahi moves to join Kotori in the ring. The prince seems angry so the red wolf quickly sets her defenses and gives him a nod. No words are spoken but she will allow Kotori the first blow and, no matter what happens, the red wolf will be ready to take anything he throws at her.

"Keahi Mogotsi"

Kotori watches the girl approach and quickly set herself for defense.  Kotori smirks with a hint of amusement.  She was ready for him to attack without even giving a word?  It was a wonderful idea.  All Kotori really wanted to do was bite and rip and crunch.  Tragically limits were placed when just sparring with a member of his own pack.

“You helped with the bear.  You did well but you need to be faster with better reaction speed.”Really, he’d only been able to pay so much attention to what she did but her last attack had ended with her dazed which meant it wasn’t an ideal attack.  That meant she needed more work and that gave him target practice.  It was also part of his job to train other wolves after all.  “Bear’s don’t play nice, so I’m not going to play nice either.  No weaklings stay in the armada long.” He wasn’t calling her a weakling, just a warning.

Since she seemed ready Kotori lunged in, not bothering with a feint this time but aiming to ram into her left shoulder.  While he’ll bite for her neck if that becomes the best target what he’s really hoping for her is her head to turn in retaliation so that he can bite her muzzle.  Kotori isn't biting to do long-term damage but he most definitely could be drawing blood with the pressure in his jaws.  If she doesn’t want to get bit she should dodge.

"Kotori Fatalis"

Keahi watches as Kotori smirks, her own expression remaining cool and neutral as the prince speaks. She listens intently to his words, giving a deep nod of understanding when he speaks about weaklings but, otherwise, offers no signs of her thoughts. Truthfully, when the red wolf fights, she tries to clear her mind so that she can approach the battle with a certain clarity. Fights are not for talking, only for actions and Kotori quickly shows her his moves.

The prince rushes in toward her and Keahi plants her paws further apart as she readies for the incoming attack. He rams into her left shoulder and the red wolf’s stance helps her absorb the impact and she leans into her left side to stay standing. She does not turn her head to look at him, instead bunching her scruff to allow the prince a place to tear into. If he is angry, she will take his bites but she still wants to prove her skills.

Once she has allowed him to tear into her a few times, Keahi shifts her weight away from the angry prince while shifting her back hips to bring her face to face with the prince. Teeth flash as she aims a bite at Kotori’s muzzle, aiming to leave him smarting but not to do any real damage. Her eyes are calm, no anger or hate anywhere in them as she fights.

"Keahi Mogotsi"

Kotori is surprised when Keahi doesn’t avoid or counter his initial attack.  His fangs sink into her flesh, the taste of her blood in his mouth was wonderful.  She was pack though so there were still limits on how much damage he could do.  It also lacked the satisfaction of feeling like she’d just let him get the bite in.

Kotori was thinking he might just stop the fight if she wasn’t going to put up effort but thankfully she suddenly spun to be facing him.  The sudden action causes her teeth to snap onto his muzzle, but only for a moment and unlike his earlier bite, no blood is drawn.

Kotori snarls in agitation, lowering his head and charging in head-on, his head would jerk up where the fleshy part of the jaw would be, right next to the throat.  The attack is to do some damage, and also to give him an opening for her throat.  If the move worked it was a two-prong attack that would end up with his gripping the neck and pushing his weight against her.

Keahi’s bite lands and she hears the agitation in the snarl Kotori releases. The prince lowers his head to charge her head on and the red wolf moves to counter. She rears up onto her hind legs so that his horns will not strike her jawline but instead, sink into the flesh on her chest. Pain flares and she channels it into her next attack. As Kotori moves to bite at her, Keahi will throw her weight into her raised front end. While it will drive his horns further into her chest, the red wolf aims to warp her legs around the prince’s and pull them out from under him. At the same time, Keahi aims a bite at his scruff to help pull the prince off balance and win this spar.
