Vanille and Fam

He had been spending time with Vanille for quite a while now and their visits together had only gotten more frequent as time went on. He had never had anyone he could call a friend outside of his sister before now and very quickly Vanille had become an important part of his day. She got him up and eager to do things again, gave him something to care about, and took his mind off of himself for a while. He knew he wanted to introduce her to his family eventually, but he didn’t want to rush it. Part of him was just nervous about how his mother and sister would react to her or what they would think. He didn’t think they would cause any problems for someone that meant so much to him, but on the off chase that they didn’t get along he wasn’t sure what he would do.
He and Vanille had discussed finally meeting his family the last time they spent time together so when he heard her call at the border this time he knew he would finally have to face it. He went out to greet her first with his usual grin, hiding the bit of nerves that fluttered in his belly. It was the first time he had ever brought anyone home to meet his family and he hadn’t directly talked to his mother or sister about Vanille yet so he didn’t think they would really even have any assumptions or opinions to go off of. He supposed all they would really know was that he was leaving a lot more frequently than he once had to hang out with someone. "They’re going to love you,” he assured her with another grin as he came to sit beside her before he called for his family, waiting patiently for his mother and Tira to appear.

Vanille had become really comfortable around Arcturus and while it may not have been saying much to find him as a really good friend, it did mean a lot to her. Living in The Long Night on her own had been harsh and it was in the time she was ready to come out of the grief of losing her mother. She didn't find it easy to get to know others or get close to them from her time in solitude, so Arcturus did mean a lot to her.
She called for him today expecting the possibility of meeting the rest of his family. She was a little nervous and excited all the same, though she couldn't really tell herself why. Maybe it was more obvious then she would admit to herself, but she was writing it off as just being anxious to meet someone new. And maybe she was trying to hold herself up to higher standards in the process.
As Arcturus joined her, she smiled to his claim before she settled down beside him. She did feel the urge to lean her shoulder into his if for the first time but she didn't. Her body crooked towards his until she settled in a smaller posture beside him. She didn't look as anxious as she felt.

Asla had just been preparing to run a patrol when the call from Arcturus came. The woman was wearing her newly acquired armor, having outgrown her former armor in both size and personal preference. Her new armor was a cuirass of steel encased in soft grey leather. The leather had been pressed with swirling embellishments of vines and leaves. The entirety had been oiled, giving the leather a fine sheen. She needed to get used to it and so had taken to wearing it every other patrol that she took. Luck would have it, the warrior fae had donned her armor this day. She'd been told that it made her look fierce, but Indigo always thought that she looked fierce.
Cutting across the territory, the grey and fawn woman made her way towards where the call had emanated from. In time, Asla's galactic gaze looked upon not only the form of Arcturus, but the form of a girl sitting beside him. Instantly the woman's mind balked. A girl? With her baby boy? What was this all about? Asla tried hard to put a pleasant look upon her face, but with her scars, there was a very good possibility that a smile looked a little manic.
"Arcturus," the armored woman greeted her son with a smile before looking to the blue shaded fae. "Who is this?"

Satira was quite enjoying learning many of the new herbs and plants that thrived on Alias Island. The northern territories fostered much hardier and potent plants with some interesting healing properties, and the adolescent girl was fascinated to learn them all and find applications for them. Elysium's healer had begun to show her how to make extracts and tonics from some of the plants, a skill Satira was eager to learn, when the call from her brother came out across the strait back on the mainland. Floppy ears bobbed to attention, and after dismissing herself, Tira gathered up her belongings and hurried across the land bridge to the field of stones to find her sibling.
When she arrived on the mainland, she was surprised to find not only Arcturus there, but a stranger at his side. Some young girl just a smidge taller than she was. Aslatiel didn't look happy to see the newcomer, and Tira was equally suspicious of this unknown wolf at her brother's side. Pale blue eyes hardened with a bit of wariness as she came up to her mother's side, not even regarding Arc at first, but instead studying the stranger. She didn't seem like a threat, at least, but that still didn't explain who the hell she was and why she was so close to her brother. "Hey, Arc," she greeted her brother, but kept all of her attention on the other girl. Unlike Asla's more tactful approach, Satira asked the girl directly, "Hi. Who are you?"
"Satira"

Arcturus and Vanille didn’t have to wait too long for his mother to appear. She looked as tough as ever in her new armor though he didn’t think much of it. This was just how his mom always was so it didn’t really occur to him that she might be intimidating or anything like that. He gave her a smile as she questioned who Vanille was, but just as he was about to answer her he spotted Tira walking toward them so he waited for her to reach them so he wouldn’t need to repeat himself. Satira was a bit more direct and obvious about her distrust and it made his ear flick, giving his sister a quick pleading glance to be nice. He wanted this to go well and hopefully they wouldn’t scare Vanille off.
“This is Vanille,” he said to introduce the smaller blue-hued girl beside him and answer both of their questioning. He leaned a little closer to Vanille, his upper foreleg brushing her shoulder in a little encouragement since he could tell his mother and sister were going to be a little more protective than he had anticipated. “We’ve been hanging out a lot and she’s been helping me with hunts too. I wanted you two to meet her!” It was the first time he had ever brought anyone “home” so to speak and the first time he had a friend outside of his sister so he hoped maybe that would give Vanille some leniency in their eyes.
