The last fight was uneventful, passed by soon enough as Levi was shifted up a bracket. He wasn't sure who he was supposed to fight next, but in the end he didn't really care. Familiar face or stranger, he was content enough. Felt as though this was time well spent. Squaring back up into the ring, Levi rolled his shoulder as he waited to see who'd step up. He wasn't left waiting for long, as an Armada wolf stomped onto the scene. All heavy footsteps and looming shadows, like every other dire Levi had laid his eyes on. He'd seen Grimshaw around, noticed him training back at Sea Plain but they hadn't ever interacted one on one, neither of them cared to it seemed.

And that was fine, not everyone was family.

"Hey." Was all he said, didn't feel like wishing him luck or being too polite. Wishy-washy stuff that never meant anything in the end.

With that, it was time to get the show on the road. Figuring he ought to kick things off, Levi drew in one final lungful of air. He offered no warning, no snarl or gnashing of teeth as he launched himself up at Grimshaw, talons hooked and sabres bared as he made to grab at his face with either paws. Hook onto the soft meaty floof of his cheeks whilst his teeth aimed to clamp down on his muzzle. Face hugger style, if you will.

He was nothing if not consistent. Never played soft, the more force the better.

Grim shook off the effects of the last spar and moved on to the next ring where another Fatalis stood. Was he lucky to fight opponents that he knew, either from sparring against or watching them? He wasn't sure, but he would take any chance he got to win. If that meant finishing off half of the other Armada guests on his climb to the top, then so be it. He had a boy to impress.

Responding to the boy's greeting with a quick nod, he had a brief amount of time to ready himself before the probable smallest member of the Armada charged at him. He saw the paws coming at him as soon as the boy rose to aim for his face but he was quick and reared up on his hind paws, his left stepping back to stabilize him. What was it with all these smaller wolves coming up at him like this? Like with Aris, with Levi so close to him he moved to wrap his massive arms around the smaller boy so that when Levi would make contact, it would be with his chest instead. As his arms moved to wrap around the boy, his weight shifted again but this time to lean forward and risk toppling himself on top of the yearling. Azure wouldn't miss this one, right?

Levi ooofed beneath his breath as his face collided with his opponents' chest. His vision swam for a moment, hazy and blurred, but returned in full soon enough. And not a moment too soon. Despite his dire size, he was faster than Levi had anticipated. Good to know and yet not fast enough. Dipping lower, Levi allowed the spines of his neck to trace along the underside of Grimshaw's exposed belly in an unsaid threat, before he kicked and twisted on his paws, jerking his way out from underneath the dire as he made to grab at his left hind leg. Right at the Achilles. It had worked on Azure, so why not Grimshaw?

He was lucky to avoid the fangs, though he would've welcomed the pain. It grounded him and he focused better, though that might not be something to brag about. He enjoyed the pain nonetheless, though a friendly spar with a child might not be the place or time for that at his brothers wedding festivities.

The boy traveled south and the spines hidden in his ruff rakes across his belly and brought a hiss from his lips they could've have been mistaken for pain by the untrained ears, but he'd be lying. He couldn't help it though, pain wasn't pain really. Distracted in that moment, the feel if teeth around his heel. Now that was pain!

Grim dropped his body weight immediately as he snarled, intending to bring his weight down on the boy beneath him. The last thing he needed was to limp all the way back to the Col, but if he was this kid was certainly going to be feeling something too.
