With the idea of expansion, Chimera gave Reila the responsibility along with the help of her pack mates to scout out the new areas and prepare a hunt for their group. She knew this was a prime area for bears so they would need to stay on their toes while they tracked the prey and then went to move the meats into storage.
She had come to observe the lands for a few days prior, memorizing the time of day the herds moved through so she could schedule the hunt accordingly. While the group was still in Aspen Dam, she went to lay out the plan. "I've studied the herd patterns and we should get a small herd of moose in through the falls shortly after we arrive. We will wait along the river where they cross and when the time is right we will drive one of them towards the face of the falls. Once it's cornered it'll make for the easy kill." She looked over the few of them that were here, she only knew Erystotle personally and had known of Azzurra from that perspective. She didn't know Valtiel. She wouldn't let that cloud her judgement over her though. "They are pretty big so the group of of will need to work together to keep it herded and moving in the direction we want it. Erystotle and Azzurra, you can take from the right. Me and Valtiel will take from the left." She went to stand to make their trip out to the falls, hunting was a quiet sport after all. "Any questions or concerns?"

Erystotle was given an opportunity to hunt with both Azzurra and Reila, which was enough convincing for the pearlescent man but it was also an opportunity to work for his pack. He had told Chimera once that he desired to work just as hard as his king, and this was one way to do so. He walked with the lovely huntresses of the pack, feeling himself fitting in quite well beside them.
Reila was leading them, and as their paws carried them into the cedar trees her voice was directed at the three of them as the group was to get started. Moose, they would be hunting the largest of the deer. Though he was surprised to hear there was a herd of them. Moose were primarily solitary animals. Perhaps it was a bachelor group, or yearlings. Either way, he believed her.
His silvery eyes glanced towards Azzurra who would be his partner for this excursion. He grinned at her briefly and returned his attention to Reila, ready to do his part. "I’m ready,” he just needed to be pointed in the right direction and he would play backup.

With the work that she had been putting into her hunting skills as of late, Azzurra was excited to put her skills to use in a hunt somewhere they were looking to expand into. She supposed if they were wanting to make this part of Fenmyre's lands then it only made sense that they would want to give it a test run and make sure it was somewhere that would be useful to them. She hadn't known what they were going to be hunting when she followed Reila out to Cedar Falls along with Erys and Valtiel. Her hunting experience was pretty limited to mostly just smaller prey that she could feasibly handle on her own so hunting with a group like this for larger prey would be a new experience for her.
Reila revealed that they would be going after a moose that she had been following through here and Azzurra had a hard time even picturing one of the large creatures. She wasn't really sure she had ever seen one, but she supposed she would today. She looked to Erys with a smile when she was paired off with him. She would have been equally as pleased with any arrangement, but she was definitely the most comfortable and had the most trust in Erys. She turned her gaze back to Reila to give her a nod and replied, "No questions from me."

Val was more than a little nervous leaving the protection of the island, especially without having Cerberus with her. She was with a group of others though and he had assured her that she'd be okay with them, so away she went. Nervousness fluttered in her belly with each step she took away from Fenmyre lands but she tried not to let it show.
The leader of their group, Reila, began to speak, laying out the plan to hunt a moose. Surprisingly, Valtiel had been part of a moose hunt once before so she knew a little of what to expect. The obsidian girl nodded, accepting the plan, but said nothing aloud. She would do her part and moved off after Reila when they split.

With no more questions of the hunt, Reila led them out quietly to the cross in the river downstream of the falls where they would be expecting the moose. She led her team to the otherside and then branched off just slightly with Valtiel with silent instruction to hide and wait in the brush until their prey was in just the right line to start the chase. It did take some time, but some days the hunts had to be like this. Every strategy and prey had different pros and cons, and today they would be sitting here waiting.
Once the moose were in sights, it was only two of the three she had spotted before but that was no problem. They only needed one after all. Her silent movements moved into a crouching position as if she were a cat ready to pounce. She took a glance towards Valtiel before looking over towards Erys and Azzurra. She wasn't sure which of the two would be taking more charge on their side but she was sure if nothing else they would work well together. With a nod of her head, she took a couple seconds before bounding out and going after the larger moose who was closer to the falls. It was definitely a surprise to the poor creature, and once all the wolves were working together it was easy to get it's hooves moving towards the falls where they would corner it.

Erys led the sweet and talented Azzurra on the opposing side to Reila and Valtiel, all of them aware of the plan and their position. With even the four of them this would be a very difficult task ahead of them. Erystotle steeled himself and stalked forward with the hunting party, his eyes on their target as much as the the other moose. Their target would be cornered and the others could be let to run off the other way.
When Reila gave the signal he gave a quick glance towards Azzurra and threw himself forward. The moose was immediately alerted to their presence, and did exactly as they wished, he went the path of least resistance, towards the falls and exactly where they wanted it to be.

Azzurra settled in beside Erys as the group began to move toward where their prey should be and once they were laying in wait she took a good look at the moose, her eyes widening with surprise at just how big these creatures were. Looking at the group that she was with and how they were all on the smaller, lighter side of things, she began to wonder how they would manage to bring down something like this, but she was willing to trust Reila's judgement since she was the leader and coordinator of the hunt. Azzurra wasn't confident in her skills enough to make judgement calls like that on her own, but she was very good at following direction and falling in with the others she was working with.
When Reila gave them the signal she exchanged a glance and a nod with Erys and she charged out of their hiding spot along side him, falling in beside him at his shoulder. The moose were startled, very clearly not expecting them to be there, and one went off one way as they drove between the two antlered creatures and the one they were after was directed toward the falls as they had hoped. When she noticed it attempting to veer off away from them she rushed forward to nip and bite at its legs to redirect it and get it to stay in line.

Valtiel followed Reila's lead, padding quietly to their ambush site. She waited as Erystotle and Azzurra moved around the group of moose and settled into their own ambush position. Eyes met across the clearing and a subtle nod was given. Adrenaline pooled up within the young wolf, ready to be used. Then Reila leaped from her place and the chase was on.
Valtiel tore over the landscape, eyes only for their target. The rest of the moose scattered and no one paid them any mind. The quartet chased their quarry towards the multi-level falls, the thundering hooves of the moose shifting to splashes as it crossed from land to water. Val cut her glance towards Reila. None of them were of substantial size, so an idea had formed in the girls mind. "If we push it over the falls it might break its leg. If anything, it'll fall and we can take it while it's down."

With the group of them all in ambush of their huge prey, Reila could feel the victory before it even came. She ran ahead with Valtiel, Erys and Azzurra keeping the beast in line as they made their way to their goal.
Reila's focus leaned just a little in to Valtiel as they ran forward, the idea from the young woman a good quick thinking. Reila barked to get Erys and Azzurra's attention before going to drive the moose more into their direction, just subtly at first because she didn't want to take them by surprise. She went to drive the moose upwards of the fall cliffs, but it was starting to get antsy as the chase went on. If they didn't do something soon the moose would get brave and fight back. They wouldn't make it all the way up the fall's edge, but the group would manage to drive it off the side a portion of the way up, easy as it was paying more attention to the wolves and questioning it's next action instead of paying attention to it's path. They were close enough to the ground that Reila could scale down the steeper drop of the fall's ledge and make her way down to the moose. Valtiel was right, and it landed in just the right angle to snap one of it's legs.
With the hunting being arranged by her in Chimera's command, she did feel obligated to take the final blow to the massive creature. She was skeptical of herself, she knew she had great strides since she washed up on the shore of Fenmyre. But as her teeth sank into the moose's throat and needing just that little bit of extra aggression to end it's life, she was feeling herself slipping, a part of her that was fighting to come out. She backed off of the moose after it was dead, a shudder through herself while she kept her eyes off of everyone else. It took her a moment to say anything. "I'll head back to the island and get some others to help us haul back." A cart and some other supplies too, but for now she just needed the walk to be away from everyone else.

Erys ran alongside Azzurra, they were all lucky the moose would rather flee than to fight right now. None of them were really big enough to challenge the bull. Their plan was working marvelously with the beast's natural proclivities, it turned tail and ran from them, not noticing where it was heading or how far from its fellows it was. Silver eyes watched the beast and continued to run it, but his attention was grabbed by Reila’s bark. He lifted his head and looked her direction, watching as she began to herd the moose their direction and closer to the falls.
Erys put on a burst of speed and determination as they drove it towards the cliffside. It was far too frightened of them to truly appreciate where it was, and as the wolves closed in the animal’s foot slipped and it went tumbling down the sheer face. Victory was all but assured at that moment. Reila was first after it, slipping over the edge and going for its throat. With a graceful if not violent movement Reila ended the beast, and Erys’ heart surged with pride in their little hunting group.

Azzurra continued the chase alongside the others until Reila barked to get their attention, her voice carrying over the pounding sound of the moose' hooves, and she quickly glanced over toward the leader of their hunting party. She noticed her gesture and the fact that she was changing the path of the moose they were herding and she gave a quick nod before focusing her attention on the task at hand. She was panting hard, but her legs weren't failing her yet so she pushed forward, just trying to get through it all to the end so she wouldn't let them down. She let Erys take a bit of a lead and she hung back slightly, still avoiding its wild legs but giving a bit more pressure behind it to make sure it didn't slow down and didn't have time to consider where exactly it was going.
Soon enough they reached their target and the moose went tumbling to the bottom of the cliff that the falls ran over and she skidded to a stop to keep herself from falling over with it. She panted and tried to catch her breath, following a bit more slowly behind Reila as the other woman went down to finish the job now that the moose was incapacitated with a broken leg. By the time she made it down to where Reila was standing the lead of their hunting party had already finished the job and was saying that she would go back to get help with healing it back to the island. She nodded in agreement and grinned happily at their success, flopping down onto her haunches with a tired sigh. Still, even though she was exhausted, she felt incredibly accomplished and grinned happily to Erys and Valtiel.

It seemed that Val's suggestion was taken seriously as soon the quartet was running the moose over the edge of the falls. The panicked animal barely noticed and its footing betrayed it. The moose called out in surprise as it fell and was soon screaming in pain as its legs shattered. Reila was the first one on it at the bottom of the falls and the small woman expertly ended the life of their prey, much to Valtiel's thanks. The sound of the pained animal ended and the girl stopped gritting her teeth, not that she'd realized she'd been doing so.
Reila took off back towards Fenmyre to get stronger wolves and a cart. Val, Erystotle and Azzurra stayed behind to guard their kill. The dark lady padded out into the cool water and lay down on her belly to cool off, tongue lolled out in a pant to rid herself of excess heat.
