The night was cold and the moon was high in the sky. Joining the moon were the stars that shone bright. Each step by step the brute left paw prints in the white snow. He admired how when the moonlight hit the crystals of the snow in the right way it made them sparkle. Augustus had traveled back to his window seat, his happy place. Knowing all too well he should have joined Seracia already the male could only sag his shoulders. He had no idea what to do and yet at the same time he did. Maybe he would have something change his decision; maybe something or someone would change his fate. He wasn't getting any younger, this was the season of his birth; Auggie was two now. This was the season in which he became a part of this world. This was the season in which he should cherish and accept with joy. No joy was given, he felt as if he was becoming like his father...but he still wanted to accomplish what his father had left unfinished. He had to live a happy life for Octavian...and probably being at the site of his death didn't really help.

And yet his black ears perked up as the cold chilly breeze blew by. He knew he comes from a line of wolves in the North like his Uncle and cousins, along with his mother, but he himself was more susceptible to the cold. Still having those pesky tufts of puppy fur that stuck out from his adult coat they made him look a bit odd. In addition to that they let his body head out more quickly than a full adult coat.

Reaching the spot where his father last lay the male sat on his haunches there. Looking back towards the cave to see his Aunt's claw marks he closed his whit gaze momentarily, taking a deep breath. Opening his lids slowly, revealing his white orbs, the brute let out a slow sigh as he watched his breath form a puff of white mist in the cold air.

Tilting his muzzle upwards towards the sky the wolf let out a howl; a howl that sounded like a sad solemn song into the dead of this beautiful night. As the sad song echoed throughout the night he would watch the sky as the breeze blew by again. Coursing through his fur he would let it whisper in his ear. Those whispers being undefinable but clear to what Augustus wanted to hear. He knew though, his father was still watching him and his Aunt, maybe even his Uncle.

"Don't worry, I'll finish what you started...." he whispered back to the wind.

"....In time...." he would say or add slowly in a calm voice.

With his black tail curled around him The male would silently observe the night; taking in it's beauty and letting his thoughts run free.

(lol wat r timelines)

Arayne's paws were numb with cold, but she carried herself proudly, loping through the night with a snowshoe hare hanging limply from her jaws. She had chased the creature for an obscenely long time, even as the sun went down, but she was hungry, and determined not to lose another meal. And so, eventually, she had run it to exhaustion and snapped it's neck, and was now bringing it back to the cave she had made her temporary den at to enjoy the spoils of her victory.

It seemed, however, that her den was already taken. A male wolf, his grayscale coat silverlike in the moonlight, lay at the mouth of the cavern. She slowed, watching him carefully. There was no covered, nowhere to hide. If it came to conflict, she would either have to hope that she was stronger than him, or faster than him. She wouldn't be the one to initiate a fight, not even over the cave (she could hardly claim to own a territory all by her lonesome). She lowered her head, dropping the rabbit onto the snowy ground. "Good evening," she said evenly, wondering who he was."Speech"
