The woman couldn’t return to Menagerie.

Not now.

She felt wrong, off, and that feeling of darkness hadn’t faded. Normally it backed off, leaving Bellamy in an anxious, crying state. But this time it was different. She felt cold. She felt so, so cold and on edge. She couldn’t go near Gavroche like this. Bellamy was… afraid of herself. She felt ready to crack. A feeling of numbness, along with something burbling under the surface, ready for her to break. There was no going back, Bells told herself. Gavroche would be better off without her. He didn’t deserve her pain. Lucette and Bae-Syl didn’t need to deal with her pain. Hell, even Ears and Whiskers were better off. They had dealt with her for so long… it was about time she was alone.

It was what she deserved.

They were wrong, all of them.

Bellamy was nothing more than a beast. A broken creature who couldn’t be saved. She had done unspeakable things, killed, maimed… and her husband pretended it was okay. That it was understandable because she was a slave. It wasn’t okay though. It had never been okay. She made her choice when she chose to do whatever was necessary to survive. Because she hadn’t had the courage to accept death, she allowed herself to do those dark things. Even now she enjoyed fighting. And why? It was her calling, as Gavroche put it. She was a monster. She was sick.

…and maybe she didn’t want to keep fighting it anymore.

She was tired of pretending to be what she wasn’t.

She didn’t look back to the North.

She didn’t know how much time had passed on her way here. Instinct drew her back to the South, the opposite direction of her mate. She hoped Lucette and Bae had moved on. They didn’t need to see her again.

Untreated cuts from slipping and rolling down the sharp ice of the glacier littered her form. She was bruised from falling into the cavern. She had laid there a long time. A very, very long time. But whatever had taken hold of her didn’t let go. She couldn’t shake the thought of what she truly was… that this was all she could ever be. If the world had molded her into a beast then so be it. They would have their fucking beast.

Subconsciously perhaps Bellamy sought a place with herbs. She didn’t know their names or their uses, but she sought their comfort. She didn’t want to hurt Gav… they were the next best thing. She could feel it. A coiled spring, ready to go off. Her mind continued to race even now, not daring to slow. The thoughts, the self-hatred flooding through her. It was her fault. She deserved this. No one should help a beast.

Bellamy came to a stop…

…and screamed.

“Stop it! Shut the fuck up!” So loud. It was so loud in her head. She squeezed her eyes closed, shaking. “Shut up shut up shut up!” She couldn’t deal with this.

It had to stop.

She’d make it stop.

It was easy to ignore someone in pain. It was even easier to walk away. Eden did the hard things, it seemed. She did hard and impossible things. Things that should not be attempted. She approached the wild-looking woman, cautiously mind you. She gave her space. Her distance between them. "Are you okay, ma'am?" she asked with concern, leaning her neck forward to frown. There was nobody there to yell at but Eden... and surely, nobody would yell at her who didn't know her?

Naivety would be her downfall.

Eden waited, unaware of a lurking figure. Perhaps her hormones were acting up because she always smelt Ignis around now. "Do you need help?" She added to the woman, already rummaging through her list of herbs and medicines to try. Maybe it was a headache and in that case... Ginger! Ginger oil on the temples. Her patient, the kind smile would soon twist into something else entirely though. Something of fear.

The noise in her head was rising to a crescendo. She hated this feeling, this feeling within herself. It was like something was crawling all over her skin, beneath her fur, and driving her mad. Bellamy trembled, the feeling rising, threatening to wrap around her just as the darkness had. She was alone, this time there wasn’t anyone to save her. Not Ears, not Whiskers, not Gavroche… She was alone, and, come what may, the consequences of today would fall on her alone. She didn’t know what was going to happen, but she could feel it, a dark wind blowing over her.

She was forsaken.

Delusion and Calamity had to be near, the forsaken twins that breathed of corruption and chaos. Bellamy hadn’t seen them but it was as if she could feel their presence around her. Her jaws parted, longing, waiting, and that was when she heard a voice call out to her.

Bellamy’s green gaze shot up immediately. She no doubt looked a wreck to this woman. A lack of sleep, minor injuries, her fur a bit unkempt… Perhaps it was normal for a wolf to be concerned. For someone to care… but she didn’t deserve it. She snorted, drawing her head back as if the woman had asked the most absurd thing in the world. Okay? No, she was far from okay. She had never been okay.

There was the distance between them, not that Bells really cared about that. Her gaze narrowed. “Do I look okay to you!? Like someone you can honestly help!?” There was raw emotion in her voice, frustration, hurt, anger, and an edge of sadness. Even as she spoke her fangs were bared, tail lashing back and forth. Hot tears started to prick at her eyes again. What was with these idiotic wolves thinking they could help her? Save her? She was damned, there was no going back.

There was no more going back…

I swore to God I’ll never do it again…

Bellamy could feel that feeling of crawling all over her body now, more insistent now, the emotions within her rolling, tumbling, like water coming to a boil.

I swore to God I’ll never do it again…

“You’re just like Gav… thinking I had a chance…!” Her words were spoken through bared fangs. She didn’t try to fight her tears this time. She took a step toward the woman.

I swore to God I’ll never do it again…

“I made my choice to survive, to become what I am. Theirs was the guiding paw, but the choice to survive was MINE!” Her voice had reached a new volume, practically screaming the last words.

I swear to God I’m gonna do it again…!

Her guilt, her blame, didn’t lie with those that hurt and misshaped her. Bellamy blamed herself for not choosing death. For allowing herself to be taken down that path. Her parents, even her sister, died fighting against that. But she had been a coward…

…she deserved this.

I swear to God I’m gonna do it again!

Bellamy didn’t think anymore.

Before Bells was not an innocent, pregnant healer who was looking to help… She saw a target. Her vision bled and blurred, twisting the woman’s form before her eyes, shifting her appearance. Bellamy widened her stance, pinned her ears, and narrowed her eyes. She kicked off, barreling toward the smaller woman in a full-on reckless frontal assault.

She wanted her on the ground.

"I... I'm sorry."

Ears pinned against her head, she began to back away. This woman was beyond her experience right now, so she should leave her. It was only when Gav's name burst through her lips that Eden started. She stopped in her retreat. "B-Bellamy?" she began before the other turned on her, snarling and aggressive. She yelped, stumbling onto her rear just as the wild woman tried to tackle her "wait, it's okay! Stop!" Gavroche had been kind to her. If this was truly Bellamy, she shouldn't hurt her.

Bellamy was suffering. Far more than Eden could help. She should call for Gavroche. Surely he was nearby. But the woman advanced and all she could do was whimper, shutting her eyes and protecting her growing belly. "Stop, please!" I'm carrying children! Surely Bellamy would care? She had a daughter herself. But the other didn't seem to give a shit about anything. Eden yelled one final time, wondering if she was close enough to the Plunder for Sparrow or someone to come. She began to run, hoping she could get to the border.

There was...a commotion somewhere. Ignis' cockatoo had alerted him to it. Eden wasn't in the den, nor was she in pack lands. Her trail led beyond Plunder's lands and he cursed under his breath. He had tried to give her as much freedom as he could while still keeping her close, so the black cockatoo had kept an eye as best he could without making her feel like she was being watched and babysat. Until now. Had she gone out to get some herbs for him and run into trouble? His companion had flown back as fast as he could, and the only words spilling from his beak were "Eden's in trouble, mate!" Before hurrying off back the way he came with the Crimson wolf moving swiftly behind him after donning his gear to try and protect the wounds that had been desperately trying to heal.

It wasn't the first time that she had left the Plunder for herbs or whatever, but definitely the first time she had found herself in trouble as far as he was aware. Still aching from his previous still healing wounds, he ignored them as his paws pounded across the ground. It was likely he would need her help yet again, and honestly, were he anyone else he probably should just leave her to deal with the consequences of her actions. But...what could she possibly do to piss someone off? She was too kind a soul. Too sweet. Too soft. The total opposite of him. He could understand if he or someone like him pissed off someone else. But he really couldn't find any reason or fathom why or how she could've managed that. Assuming, of course, it was another wolf and not a predator. If it were the latter, he had learned from experience they often didn't need a reason to attack.

He barrelled through everything in his path as he made a beeline to her location. Luckily, she wasn't too far from Plunder's lands. His good and remaining ear perked forward when he heard her yelling, spurring him to move faster. He found her running back towards Plunder's lands, her plump form moving as fast as her legs could carry her. A snarl ripped through his throat, but not at her. Crimson eyes zeroed in on the threat, a she-wolf almost as big as him, but not quite. A brief flash of recognition...why did she seem...vaguely familiar?

No matter. She had been trying to attack Eden. And he would not stand for the threat against what belonged to him. Although he still would not admit it, Eden was his, and his alone. He leaped over his small charge, landing heavily on the ground several feet beyond Eden, and placed himself between the two women. Teeth flashed as lightning struck and thunder rumbled in the darkened sky above. He ignored any pain he was starting to feel from some of his wounds reopening yet again. His damaged ear hadn't even had time to heal yet, but he didn't care. It was protected at least, from the skull he wore. "You chose the wrong target today," He growled as his fur bristled, his intact ear pinning to his crown and crimson gaze narrowed to dangerous slits as they peered through his antlered helm. He could already feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins. No doubt He would be arriving soon.

He could feel it.

It was too late to stop.

Her mind was too far gone, too loud, desperate to stop, to make it stop. She was slipping, further and further down, to the point she didn’t even know herself anymore. The woman called her name, but Bells didn’t respond. She was out of it. She was gone. The wolf she was in that moment and the wolf that the green-marked woman called for was not the same. Her mind as whirling, and she didn’t stop. She wasn’t even able to process what was going on. Her mind and body had switched to autopilot and she was holding on for the ride come what may.

The woman begged her to stop, but the most that came of it was Bellamy faltering. She slowed but still came. Some small part of herself could still make out the woman’s pregnancy. She fought within herself for what was right. What she should do and what she shouldn’t. Any other time before today Bellamy would have been appalled with what she was doing. The only sign that the actual Bellamy was still there was the evidence of the tears that ran down her face. Deep within she didn’t want this.

But she was weak.

She couldn’t fight herself anymore.

Then, suddenly, a wolf was between them.

Bellamy skidded to a stop, her narrowed eyes focusing on the red and black-furred individual that had placed himself between her and the woman. Her nostrils flared, more of those tears slipping down her cheeks. He was… wait…

This was…

“Ignis.” She had never interacted with him much… but truthfully during her time in Winterfell, she hadn’t interacted with a majority of the pack. But did she know of him? Of course she did. She had made a promise before not to go after the man… despite his transgressions against Acere and the first and only pack to give her a chance. Something… shifted within Bellamy at that moment. Going after the woman was forgotten as her stance shifted, fangs barred, as she hissed out her next words.

“Some nerve you have,” She spat. “Defending someone when you fought to uproot and destroy something that was never yours.” She had never thought they’d come into contact again.

Fate was… a funny thing.

“Or do you lay claim to this woman like you laid claim to Winterfell? By taking her?” Her words were harsh, egging him on. Her hurt, her own pain, was causing her to lash out at what could have been one of the worst wolves to do so. Her tail flicked back and forth angrily. She didn’t want to wait for answers. She didn’t care. Her body screamed for battle, to cause pain and feel pain.

Bellamy ripped her blade from the sheath on her foreleg.

Fight.

Bellamy lunged forward again, directly at Ignis with the knife in her maw. She didn’t try to pivot, slam, anything. She wasn’t logical, fighting with even less care or attempt at accuracy than she normally did. She came head-on, no slam, just the sharp edge of the bone blade coming for the top of Ignis’ muzzle below his existing scars with the intent to dig in and cut across the opposite side of his face under his eye. She had hoped to go for the eye initially, but with the man being taller than she was the woman miscalculated the intended location of her strike.

She didn't want him here. She may need him here, but she didn't want him to be. Ignis had been hurt too many times, and this would... be so much worse, being here to witness another potential harm. She had lunged as far as possible with her pregnancy looming, putting a bit of space between even Ignis and herself. She wondered who she'd be forced to patch up this time. The madwoman or the madman? She knew she wouldn't hesitate to help the red wolf, but the... woman.

Something in her snapped. Some sympathetic thoughts went. Poof. She knew she should feel bad. Bellamy was not right. Perhaps she was even like Ignis. But it didn't matter. The woman had tried to harm her, but worse... She had tried to hurt the pups. "Make her leave" she hissed at Ignis' back "she tried to hurt our pups!" Because Eden was still there, rooted in her own core personality. She didn't care about herself. She cared more about the life growing inside of her. But did she fool herself?

No. She really didn't care about Bellamy at the moment. All compassion gone, in the face of the pups almost risk.

"Ignis." She recognized him. But still, he had no idea who she was. Half of his memories past were muddled, shattered each and every time his Demon took over. She bared his fangs at him, but unlike her, Ignis did not falter. “Some nerve you have,” She hissed at him. “Defending someone when you fought to uproot and destroy something that was never yours.” He wasn't one to argue that people could change. Because honestly, he didn't believe it himself. "What the hell are you talking about!?" Did she know Eden before he took her? Was that what she meant? No. “Or do you lay claim to this woman like you laid claim to Winterfell? By taking her?” Aahh...so she had been a loyal follower of his uncle's? He didn't remember her much, everything from those days was foggy.

He briefly glanced back at Eden from the corner of his eye, unwilling to really state yet again something that she already knew. She had accepted it already, but he didn't need to admit anything to this feral woman.

And yet...Blödhgarm thought otherwise. "Make her leave" Eden's voice hit him just in time. "she tried to hurt our pups!" His full attention fell on Eden for a moment, crimson gaze darkening before he turned back to face Bellamy. "Is that so?" It had happened. "You thought to try and harm what belongs to me?" His tongue swiped out to lick his teeth as a feral snarl bubbled in his throat. "I guess Acere made a mistake with you now, didn't he? Winterfell was weak! As was he. He turned away from us. So I took his eye as retribution. They both deserved to fall! Every. Last. Bit of it." Laughter left his maw. Dark and twisted as he rose to his full height, a demon in the wake of disaster.

She reached for her dagger. And that was all the prompting he needed to get moving. She came practically swinging blindly at him, and the crimson beast charged forward. He shifted slightly towards his own left in an effort to line up his right shoulder with the center of her chest. Snarling, he sought to slam the point of his shoulder into her throat and lowered his head in an attempt to deflect the blade with the skull helmet he wore, perhaps even knocking it from her mouth if he was lucky. "Stupid girl!" He hissed, jaws snapping open as he aimed them at the section of her body where shoulder met chest. His goal was to tear into her, to render her limb useless for the remainder of the fight. To leave a permanent scar to remember him by!

What belonged to him. Those words alone ignited a rage within Bellamy. She had been speaking without knowledge. But those words confirmed a sense of ownership, and hate bubbled up within Bellamy at the thought of it. The image of a younger Ignis, the one she remembered, the one before, began to twist before her eyes. It became more sinister, more feral, no different than those who had taken it all from her. Those who wanted the beast, those that got a killer, one that was not going to back down. She knew she was wrong, some sick creature that would harm even the unborn. The part of her that Gavroche loved, the part of Bells that was still her would have never thought to do such a thing. But in this state, paranoid, feral, lashing out, she was beyond that point of being saved. Beyond that wolf that her mate had seen. She was lost, and though she fought her mind it was a battlefield both within herself and against Ignis.

Ignis’ next words however were a dagger to her heart. Acere made a mistake… they were words she had thought herself over and over again. Wondering how such a kindhearted leader could exist. He had shown her mercy, kindness… had she deserved it? Those words cut deeper than any wound he’d be able to give her in that fight. She screamed within herself. Acere had been soft, yes, but he had been a damned good man who didn’t deserve what he had gotten. He hadn’t deserved to fall! He hadn’t! The demon’s words and laughter played with her fragile mind as her mind and body fought to make any sort of sense of what was going on.

The fact of the matter was she didn’t see Ignis in armor. Hell, she barely saw him anymore as her mind twisted and distorted his form before her. No longer wolf-like the crimson beast had become like darkness itself, twisting its tendrils to the heavens as it charged her.

How did one fight darkness itself?

Bellamy felt the knife slide against something, though when it all appeared to be darkness she wasn’t sure what it had hit. The thing kept coming, and as she thrust her head upward in the attempt for another swing, she felt pressure hit her chest below her throat. A grunt slipped past her lips around the blade, but Bellamy held onto it as if her life depend on it. No doubt there’d be some nasty bruising to her chest later with a direct hit like that. But for now, though it caused her to fault two steps back, she did not back down. The hallucination of Ignis continued to twist and distort before her eyes, its red eyes glowing and becoming many. It was strong, gods it was strong…

…Maybe it’d kill her.

Bellamy swung again, toward the same direction he’d gone with his fangs. She cut closer towards herself in an attempt to get at his face where the helmet ended again, not that she saw that anymore. She even lifted the leg that he was attacking, stomping it forth in a wild attempt at landing on his own forepaw and smashing the toes. She could feel her vision swim as she felt fangs slice her shoulder. She didn’t know if her attack made any contact. She could feel herself starting to fade out.

This was bad…

He sneered as he saw the struggle within the woman's eyes. The faltering of her steps. The pain in her mind. While Ignis himself couldn't see it, Blödhgarm certainly could. She didn't have a true demon within her, but she still battled with her own mind. His words had cut through her like a knife, and it only made him want to continue tearing away at her mentally, and physically. Her blood spilled into his mouth, causing a rumble of pleasure in his throat. The two steps back that she had taken provided an opening for the crimson beast, and he took his opportunity to gain a better edge.

He lifted himself, forelegs seeking to wrap around her shoulders. On the way up, her knife had managed to catch the top of his muzzle over the bridge of his nose (and her stomp would miss). He snarled with rage, but he pushed through it, forcing a deeper cut than what would've probably been had he decided to move elsewhere. That was fine. Ignis would be the one dealing with the aftermath. He sought to pull the woman close to him, muzzle aligned with her left ear a wicked sneer on his lips.

"Both you and Acere are weak. It's a good thing he's dead...and you'll be next someday." He hissed before throwing his weight forward and seeking to pull her head closer to him in a bid to try and suffocate her and limit her movements against his chest. But first...jaws snapped open as he reached for the nape of her neck, a vicious assault that would render her disoriented and thrown to the ground at the end of it!

She didn't know what to expect, only that it would not be good. Both wolves went on their own warpath, fuelled by darker intentions. Eden crouched fearfully in the grass, eyes wide and wishing she had a long tail to protect her belly. At least curling around her stomach would be soothing. She did not have that at all. Ignis would become victorious in the end, something she expected from him subconsciously. Once his fangs and claws tore through Bellamy, she rushed forward to stop them from killing themselves. "Enough!" she shrieked, turning to the red man with a pleading expression before her eyes looked at Bellamy "leave."

She was shocked by the force in her tone, but she advanced on the beaten woman with rigid steps. "You lost" she wanted the woman to go back to her mate, she wanted Ignis not to kill her. To spare her life, Eden was forcing herself to be cruel... "go back to where you came from, Bellamy" Her voice was ice-cold "do not come back. If you come back for revenge, if you try to hurt Ignis' pups when they're born" She sucked in a sharp breath "then I will hurt you too." Her legs betrayed how scared she was, trembling and attempting to hold herself up. She tried to be fierce. She tried to threaten. She looked pitiful compared to Ignis' wrath.

But she damn right tried.

It hurt.

Gods it hurt bad.

The woman started to shake, the tears that had been streaming down her face not stopping, even now. A small part of her was crying out, desperately wanting this to stop. She didn’t want to get hurt. She was scared, scared of herself, scared of him. She could feel herself wavering, submitting, as the man pulled her close and whispered in her ear.

She didn’t hear the “someday” part of his words.

She felt like she was suffocating, the knife she had barely of any use at all. She was spinning, helpless, a child again… She couldn’t do anything right, could she? She was going to die, and she deserved it. She deserved it… but she was scared… She squeezed her eyes closed, not even fighting back anymore.

She was tossed to the earth, the knife slipping from her jaws. She didn’t move. She curled up, submissively, keeping her eyes squeezed closed. She expected that thing to keep coming. She expected claws and fangs to rain hurts upon her. She had acted out. She had tried to rise against her demons and for what? She failed… She deserved death… she…

Her head was swimming, barely able to process what was going on anymore. She barely opened her eyes, bleary with tears. It wasn’t just the battle against Ignis that she had lost… Her spirit was breaking, a sound so loud, so earth-shatteringly loud that despite the other two not being able to hear it, it deafened her. She shifted on the ground, but she didn’t see Eden the way she was. She saw another thing, tendrils lifting to the air, though this one was light, whereas the other was pure shadow.

Leave.

The command hit her hard.

Go where? Somewhere deep inside Bellamy cried.

What home did she have? Who did she honestly have to turn to? She didn’t deserve the chances she’d gotten. She didn’t deserve to be spared. She didn’t look at either of them, staggering to her paws on her injured limb.

“You should have let him finish me.” There was a major shift in her tone from the woman that had spoken before. Quiet, defeated, broken… “You’d have done the world a favor.” She wasn’t going back to Gavroche. She couldn’t. Not now… not…

It felt like her head was swaying gain.

She grabbed her knife, staggering.

Shame, you’re too much of a coward to end it yourself, aren’t you?

That voice, that damned voice, it kicked the woman when she was already down, bringing that sinking feeling lower.

That’s the real reason you went at her, isn’t it? To have someone put you out of your damned misery. Because you’re too scared to do it yourself.

A few hobbling steps… Ears lowered, body screaming…

Pathetic woman,

Another couple of steps.

You deserve to suffer. You never cared about them. Your parents, your sisters, the other slaves... all you cared about was continuing to live because you’re too scared to die!

It was slow going, but she was moving away from them, the battle between her and Ignis but her mind refusing to let up, even now.

You deserve this. You’ve always deserved this.

…and, unless stopped, she was gone.

Mental health (particularly depression and anxiety) is extremely bad. Currently unable to handle IC conflict or conflict between characters, pack related or individual. I am struggling to post even simple things and will not be able to continue with thread if approached. Sorry for the inconvenience but I just can't right now.

Bellamy has two companions - a Tasmanian devil and an American badger. Unless otherwise mentioned IC, assume that they are close by.

Success had been granted to him. He tore into the she-wolf that had dared to threaten his possession, throwing her to the ground, and just as he was about to cause more pain and suffering, Eden's voice cut through "Enough!" He stood over his fallen opponent. Blood and saliva dripped from his maw as his chest heaved from the effort of the fight. Eden now stood between him and his target, his eyes wild with the darkness of his demon. "Leave." He heard her say.

He still wanted to inflict pain. To teach the offender that she had crossed the wrong one today. But he couldn't continue his assault without hurting Eden. She stood between the two, and unless he shoved her out of the way, he risked hurting the unborn. It was really quite the dilemma for the crimson male. So instead, Blödhgarm's light slowly faded from his eyes and Ignis stepped back. Eden continued, telling Bellamy that if she dared try to take revenge on their pups, she'd hurt her too. Honestly, he was surprised. To him, Eden had shown nothing but a tender heart. But perhaps when one was in the face of motherhood, it changed things. But he just speculated, of course.

As Bellamy picked herself up and responded to Eden before turning away, Ignis added "If I ever see you again. I will kill you." That wasn't a threat, but a promise. It took everything he had to keep himself grounded. Wounds aching once again from the stress of yet another fight. "Let's go." He turned to head back to Plunder lands with Eden, wanting to get away before Blödhgarm decided he didn't want to let things go after all.

-Exit with Eden?-

"Yes... let's go" She watched as Bellamy slumped away before turning to Ignis. Or the Demon. Whoever it was "thank you" she said to both of them before reaching up to plant a soft kiss against their cheek if allowed "come on... Let's get you patched up..." She stared openly at the wounds, a soft titter of concern escaping her jaw as she slowly followed him back to the Plunder.

They were safe. The pups were safe. All was well, wasn't it? Wasn't it? She didn't know. Could not know... She wished she was a proper seer, able to see the glimpse of the future that these children promised her. Motherhood. Pups that would love her unconditionally, and she would love them. Eden sighed as she looked back at the field of battle. Nature would play its course. Swallow the blood. Make the dirt grow into grass.

Everything was ordained. /exit
