Stjernestøv

Kiela had temporarily strayed from the northern region of Boreas but it was no surprise that she'd ended up back here before much time had passed at all. With the arrival of spring in full force, she had her herd to return to. Ensuring they had a fruitful year was her highest priority, much more so than her adventures. Following the caribou always brought her to see new sights anyway, which was exactly how she'd ended up here, in this strange partially-submerged forest. Daylight had begun to fade at a rapid pace, the sky darkening and stars beginning to sparkle across the vast expanse of sky overhead.

Kiela wove effortlessly between the treetops that protruded from the frozen land below. She'd never seen anything quite like this and she was rightfully cautious as she moved across the iced-over water. In some spots she swore she could see lights glimmering beneath the surface but at least for now, she assumed it was a strange reflection of the stars shining above. The world was still and quiet for the most part too, only occasionally disturbed by the sound of wind whistling through the pine trees around her.
