Amalia was feeling better, and thus she felt it necessary to test herself. The russet-touched girl had yet to truly experience battle, and her peaceful nature made her unwilling to take it seriously, and yet she wanted to spar one of her brothers. She was little, and she wouldn?t truly try to hurt them, but she wanted to try to see what fighting was like. One day, after all, she might have to defend herself or somebody she loved! It was important that she learn how to do so, so that she might be effective in her efforts.
Behind her she wiggled her tail, hackles raising out of instinct, body lowering into a crouch. Amalia knew nothing of defense, and so hers were sparing at best, ones that were produce out of an instinctual nudge somewhere inside of her. She noted that when her legs were equally spread she had better balance, and went with that, but aside from that and the instinctual defenses she was clueless. Lifting her head up, she would think about what brother she would rather tussle with.
She unleashed a call for Quintus, as well as any onlookers. Anybody who came would get to see the royal children in action, albeit rather meaningless, harmless action. Amalia was prepared to give her brother a little bit of a bruising, but not much. She loved him lots, after all!

Despite whatever else he might want to be doing at the moment -- which really wasn't a whole lot -- Quintus Nero would never ignore the call of a sibling. It was a rare occasion he was away from his family for long regardless, but as he grew older, he found himself straying that much more; it was only natural, after all. With a grin he pulled himself lazily onto all fours, beginning to pad toward the source of her call.

As she came into view, he grinned lopsidedly. The Adravendi-Nero children were not at all lacking in the appearance department, and the kids were beginning to lose their puppy features and were slowly looking more like adults each day. Quintus was certainly still a juvenile at heart, with no real interest in doing 'important things' as his parents called them.

"Sup' sis?" He called out as he increased his pace slightly, padding closer. Upon further inspection, she looked much more healthy than when he'd seen her the previous day. He laughed, bumping her side with his nose as he drew up beside her. "Nice to see you without snot running down your face," he teased lightly with a snort. It took a moment for him to notice her playful stance. Hadn't they grown out of wrestling yet? He didn't seem to quite realize that maybe she wanted to fight for practice. He wasn't really a physical boy; not at all inclined to be violent or cruel. Neither was Amalia -- she just seemed to note the importance of such things, while he was utterly oblivious.

He came upon being called, her sapphire gaze settling upon her brother with a grin set on her lovely features. Oh, she wanted to practice! Amalia was not a violent girl, but she was active, enjoying the stretch of her muscles and the pump of adrenaline. When he arrived she fell into a play bow, her tail coincidentally wagging behind her, providing her more balance unconsciously. Her hackles were subconsciously raised, legs equally spread.

?You get the first move, okay, Quinny?? she offered, preparing for him to attack her. Her legs spread apart equally, remembering how it felt, how it felt secure. Her play bow made her front body lower, her hips raised into the air, hind legs tense and prepared to pounce forwards. It wasn?t the most practical position, but it felt right to the pup! She braced herself for him, ready to wrestle an tangle with gentle sibling affection.

Amalia hardly answered his question, nor did she reply to his gentle teasing. The boy snorted, lumbering a bit closer to her. His gait was relaxed, as lazy as always; though he grinned lopsidedly as he watched her with his sea-green gaze. Her posture made it all too obvious she wanted to play, but her stance was a bit different than usual. More guarded, but still oh so playful.

Quintus Nero let out a snort, knowing he couldn't get out of playing this time. Even if he wanted to, his sister seemed resigned to him going along with her sudden plan; she even announced he would get the first move. "Fine," he replied with a sigh.

Amalia's posture was balanced, and she seemed rather stable on all four paws. He was never too interesting in wrestling and the like, but he knew he ought to be more physical... perhaps try to get stronger. His father had mentioned hunting lessons soon, and he felt totally and utterly unprepared -- and disinterested, but alas; such was the life of the son of the King and Queen. With a sigh he straightened his own posture, careful to keep his tail raised high behind his back and his legs spread for balance. And then with as much force as he could muster -- which was admittedly not much for a boy of his age and size -- and rushed forward to nip at Amalia's right foot, attempting to pummel his weight into her smaller form and send her backwards.

(3 moves OK? Didn't wanna have him say it in character, feels more realistic to not xD)

She tried to say balanced upon her four limb, limbs spreading equally and weight evenly distributing, tail wagging excitedly behind her, hackles raised. Her body stayed in her play fight position, rear lifted, grin bright upon her face. He approached head on, and the girl bounced to her left, although not quick enough to completely avoid her brother. His right shoulder hit her chest, slight bruising welling up there, but she hoped that her own right shoulder might hit his chest as well, as she?d pounced forward and to the side. Amalia?s movements had brought her out of her play crouch, and into the battle. Nonetheless, her brother did manage to push her back, as he was bigger and stronger than she was, but due to her balanced stance the girl did not lose her balance.
His teeth managed to scrape her right paw, and her own head turned to her right, lowering and seeking to bite into his scruff, head going down and then pulling back, hoping to yank just enough to hurt but not enough to cause any serious damage. He was her brother, after all, and this was just a practice to get a feel for what fighting was all about!

Perhaps a little lesson in fighting wasn't going to be as miserable as he had thought. Though he wasn't an overly motivated boy, he felt something strange as he pounced to leap at his sister. Adrenaline rushed through his veins immediately. Amalia had been rather prepared for the attack, trying to dodge to the left. He felt his right shoulder hit her chest, but she did not fall over like he had half-expected her to. Instead, she pushed forward suddenly, ramming her shoulder into his chest in a near mirror of the move he'd made. It definitely didn't feel nice, and he growled a bit, though the sound was more playful than truly angry.

Not wanting to lose balance, he kept his tail stiff behind him and his weight distributed as evenly as possible among his limbs. It would be embarrassing for him to be knocked to the ground by a girl -- and the girl was his sister! Somehow he nipped at her paw, but no blood was spilled. He didn't want to really hurt her anyway, and he knew their parents would be angry if they stumbled back to them bloody and battered to a pulp. Definitely wouldn't go over well with mom and dad.

He yelped loudly as she managed to snag the scruff of his neck, pulling at his skin -- more annoying than painful. His instinct was to shake his head furiously, and so he did, trying to slip from her grasp, even if it made it all hurt that much more. He was in the perfect position to continue nipping at her paws, and so he went for the left one this time, trying to make her lose balance more than really hurt her.

QUINTUS vs. AMALIA for PRACTICE

Round 2/3

Attacks: Trying to bite her left paw and throw her off balance.

Defenses: Paws spread to distribute weight evenly, tail stiff behind him.

Injuries: Bruising on his chest where Amalia's shoulder landed, slight bruising on his scruff where she is tugging it, possibly a bit of bleeding if she holds on when he's trying to shake free.

OOC: No default is perfect :)
