Though Taliesyn was well and truly at home among the wolves of Valhalla in the Plains, it was always nice to return to his old haunts. The flat expanse of grassland with its single river and milling herds of bison and elk and pronghorn had been his most traveled spot before he’d made a home with the wolves.

The stallion ambled across the grassland, tail flicking light trails through the air as he swished at flies and mosquitoes. Isolde circled above, watching for dangers.

Wangui lounged on his back, perched on his rump, but the lemur was ever vigilant. Soon enough Taliesyn’s hooves stopped at the side of the river, and he scanned the area, before he glanced up at Isolde, who gave an all-clear flutter of her wings and went back to spiraling.

The stallion lowered his great, horned head and drank his fill before wading into the river until he was in over his withers and his hooves threatened to lift off the riverbed. He ducked his head below the water, coming up after a moment with a water-spraying snort.

Above, Isolde gave a click-screech of alert, and the stallion’s head swiveled, ears pricked with interest. It was the call that alerted of another horse, not a threat. Someone he knew? Or someone new?

At last, he had made his way out of the blasted North! He certainly liked to see new sights, but perhaps it was best to wait until things warmed up a bit more before taking another trip back that way. He was grazing a bit, munching on the sweet grasses and clover that grew here. He was glad that his new...erm...teeth were retractable, folding neatly into his mouth so they didn't disturb him when he ate. It was still something he was getting used to, but at least he hadn't had to use them yet. The wolves mostly left him alone. But he also didn't really interact a whole lot with them, either.

He was a lone bachelor for the most part, but oftentimes the pull for socialization would draw him to seek them out. And that was mostly on account that finding another horse with intelligence was pretty hard. He eventually made his way towards the river for a drink, and as he approached, he spotted a vaguely familiar form in the water. He couldn't remember the stallion's name, but he definitely hadn't forgotten what he looked like. He was the only other horse he knew, and it was hard to forget one that had a horn and that glowed. He gave a friendly nicker of greeting as he approached, "Long time no see," He greeted as he approached the river bank. The white stallion smelled strongly of wolves. Had he joined one of the packs?
