Gossamer wandered through the Red Forest as the evening light cast its golden and amber tones through the trees, leaving long dark shadows from the massive trunks. She was on her way to the Gale Gorge with another pack full of supplies. They would ask her father soon if she could leave but she was already opperating on the assumption it was a yes. For even if he told her no she would fight for her freedom week after week until she succeeded. She needed this chance to be out on her own. It was worth everything to her now. Alongside her Ásta pulled a small travois laded with various tin containers and homemade ceramic bowls. It would be nice to get a fire started and have a soothing cup of tea once they arrived at their destination.

All You Have Is Your Fire...

Pyralis focused on tracking the scent of the Armada girl. She'd noticed its waning absence near the Armada and found herself having trouble finding the woman again. It was frustrating. She grit her teeth. After her successful fights at the raid she was feeling more like herself and eager to track down her rival but the new, erratic movements indicated the Gossamer girl was settled like she had been. Now why would she go and make it so hard for a little old lady to find her?

Alkali flew above, gliding through the trees. It was beautiful and eerie here. The shadows of the trees stretching out like great prison bars, fracturing the light and dark into stark contrast. She was blissfully unaware that another Armada wolf, was trespassing in pirate territory at this very moment. Her focus was more centered on her own target.

The sun continued to sink toward the horizon and then Pyralis finally caught up with her quarry. "Finally, found you. I was starting to think you were leading me on a purposely long goose chase." She eyed the massive fox companion and licked your lips. "What the hell is that? Look at those ears!"

Gossamer skidded to a stop, wincing at the familiar voice. For fucks sake… she turned to face the old pirate woman who seemed dead set on harassing her til one or both of them met a terrible end. She set her defenses and moved between Ásta and the pirate. "This is getting old and boring. Go harass someone else. And Ásta's ears aren't nearly as freaky as your old, decrepit ones. I'm amazed they haven't hopped off your head in shame. Now piss off before I thrash you into the ground… again." Gossamer felt more confident since acheiving victory over the old pirate, especially in front of her friends and family though she was still wary of the crafty old snake. Maybe she'd get lucky and the old bat would just shoot a few more insults then leave.

Pyralis yawned. "You're young so I'll give you a pass for those lackluster insults. You know what I'm here for. I'm here for a fight and to see what you're really made of. Think your strong enough to protect those you care about? Then stop me. Stop me from ripping one of those pretty, freaky ears right off your companion's head!" Pyralis shot forward, setting her defenses as she bolted toward the fox. She aimed to crash her chest into the smaller creature's neck as her head shot down, jaws flung wide. Her head rotated as she attempted to snap her jaws over Ásta's left ear, seeking to sheer it completely off in one fell, and viscious bite. At the same time she lifted her front legs, seeking to throw her right over Ásta's shoulders, and wrap the other around the base of the fox's neck. She wanted to pin the creature down under her weight.

"Ásta!" Gossamer swiftly sprang into action, her heart hammering in her chest as she did so. This was almost worse. She could handle the pirate trying to maim her, but trying to maim one of her dearest friends? Spirits she was going to kill this fucking pirate! Gossamer kicked off with her hind legs, centering as much force into her chest as possible as she attempted to ram her chest into Pyralis' left upper left arm with the goal of jarring the limb and pushing the old woman off her friend. At the same time she rotated her head so the left side of her face was parallel with the ground as she aimed to bite onto Pyralis' left ear. She sought to grab it at the base betwixt her jaws where she could snap it off. The only one leaving here with one less body part would be the old hag.
