It wasn't quite as grand or as intimidating as he'd imagined it would be. When he'd heard talk of the great northern wall he'd imagined something looming, tall enough to cast the land in shadow, but it had gaps in places. Crumbling and decrepit, a whisper of its former glory. As he approached from the west, the wind at his back he tilted his head to look up at it, wonder whether it was built to keep things out or in. These days it did a terrible job of either, he stepped over the threshold with ease, taking care as he clambered his way to the top, talons hooking onto the edges like ice picks.

Standing atop he squinted against the cold, as the wind rustled his coat and clicked his spikes together. Even from higher up there wasn't much to see out in this snowy expanse. Nothing but cold emptiness, a void of white for miles all around.

Wren had offered a place in the Armada while the new pack was formed, but Sybil had turned it down. Not verbally, she had simply responded with her absence. She had a little more wandering left in her, that itch in her paw. She’d settle down, yes, but that time could wait for a few months more. And so she put her paws to use, roaming around the northern lands, listening to the gorge whistle, listening to the cold waves crash down the coast. Spring had just about arrived and yet it seemed no warmer, not to most. Her kind of weather.

A lone shape stood against the cold, on the apex of the old wall she found herself walking along. Could it be repurposed, she wondered? Fanciful dreams of a castle all to herself fluttered in her head, dissipating as her attention turned to the stranger. “Ho there.” She called, to a little wolf coloured like a burning coal. He looked awfully out of place here in the desolate tundra. Amidst the wind and white landscape, she wondered if he’d be able to notice her at all.

If Levi had wanted company he wouldn't be here, enough said. So when a stranger ambled up and called out to him, he couldn't help but feel a pang of annoyance in his chest. What sort of greeting even was that? A bit too comfortable and casual for his liking, whatever. Turning with a flick of his ears, he peered down at the pale stranger. All thin and sleek, considerably taller than him but not in an impressive way. Not in a way that counted or he cared to acknowledge. With the cold wind biting at his nose he couldn't quite separate all the scents that clung to her form, but what he could pick up on told him all he needed to know. She was a stranger, wasn't of the Armada and thus he didn't have to play too nicely.

"What?" He asked, unsure of why she was looking up at him so expectantly. Like she thought he'd get down to her level so they could have a nice lil chat.

No thanks, he was just fine up there.

She blinked at the stranger from his place on top of this wall. He seemed very content to remain where he was it seemed, staring down at her rather than meeting her at her level. Well, it wasn't like he would've been able to. Catching his scent now, she recognised his as the Armada, the same smell that had clung to Wren's fur last they met. Supposing that the Menagerie and the Armada were to be allies, a little friendly conversation surely wouldn't hurt.

The response came, blunt, maybe a trace of hostility if you squinted. The spirit had been around long enough to know not everyone was taught manners, and she'd accommodate. "Nothing." She relented, a flick of the ear in response. She would not abandon this opportunity for conversation so easily however. "What are you doing up there?"

In all honesty he'd climbed the wall just because he could, because it was present and there. Something to break up endless blur of white that was the north. But now he was up there and looking down he could think of a few reasons, that he was scouting out the area and wanted to get a better perspective. But none of them were really true, he'd be lying to her if he said otherwise. He breathed deep, allowing the cold air to fill his lungs as the horizon and treeline seemed to blend together.

"Just looking." He eventually said with a shrug, deciding it was better than nothing.  There were things to look at, if he squinted, so it wasn't entirely a waste of his time. "Do you want something?" He then asked, cause that seemed to be the only reason people sought him out these days. Cause they could make use of his skills, wanted something and offered little in return. Kind of annoying, now he thought about it.

His answer was similarly short, blunt, possibly dismissive. Almost an excuse, but Sybil was not the paranoid sort, and she believed she would've been able to sniff out any trickery if it had been present. It must be a fascinating view from up there after all, all flat plains and blurred horizons. A bit depressing, but ripe for contemplation. Sometimes the simplicity could be a great companion, monotony clearing the mind of all distraction. Then again, this stranger didn't seem the kind to meditate.

"Just some dialogue, if you can manage it." Her tone was light, airy. Casual. She wanted to make it clear that she while she was willing to be the initiator, to invest just a little more, she wouldn't do all the work here. If this wolf didn't want to talk, she wouldn't force him. "You are of the Armada, yes?" A curious tilt of the head. "How is it?" A part of her wanted to ask if he knew of the Menagerie, but she'd hold her tongue for now.
