Kotori was getting to know the land that would be his in the near future if things went well. He’d called out a claim to take over this land and would see if any were going to answer it or just let him label the place his. There was plenty of prey about so there would be no concerns. The tree’s offered pleasant shade and the stream teamed with fish. He could see why abaven had enjoyed the place for a long span of time. That was the past and he would create the future. If someone came to challenge him Kotori would not hold back in his intent to keep this location.
Kotori had done plenty of hunting lately for larger game, more than he needed. So far the only wolf he’d had to share food with most of the time was Tove. There was no need to get a large meal but Kotori did wait by the water, watching the fish carefully. When a good size one got near the shore Kotori jerked his head down swiftly, snapping up the fish and lifting up a wet muzzle with a flapping fish between his jaws.
It had been a while since he ate fish. They certainly weren’t his favorite food but it would be something different for a change.

In time her heel would recover from the raid the pirates had brought upon Habari, and it wasn't quite today. The wound was mostly healed, enough that she didn't need to wear a bandage anymore so her movement was more free and allowed her to travel around quicker and without worry of her bandage coming undone. Today she was tempted to move east, interested in the fertile lands that surrounded all the different waterways. Perhaps if she were lucky, she would return home with some plants for her garden or some dirt also for her garden. She hardly ever left her home equipped with everything she could possibly need, settling for making do with what she had and what she could find.
A sound had caught her attention though she couldn't place it until she noticed a tawny wolf near the waters edge with a freshly caught fish. He didn't have a bad idea fishing in these rapids, though she was lucky enough to be far from hungry. Bringing snacks along with her was probably one of the few things she actually could remember to bring with her. She had no interest in interrupting the mans meal and instead positioned herself a bit further down stream. The cool water sounded like a nice refresher for her sore paws, so the woman carefully eased herself in and hummed a tone of relief as the refreshing cool water.
