Lake Day
Fia <3

Before she really let herself dive back into her duties to the pack following her trip to Fenmyre, she wanted to take a day or two just to reconnect with her children and spend a bit of time with them. She almost envied how little responsibility her own mother had in comparison and how much time they had been allowed to spend with her growing up—though she hardly felt like her mother truly wanted that time the way Manea herself did. Her own mother had been solely about duty and strength and little else which was a far cry from how she wanted her own interactions with her children to be. Wanting to start introducing Fiametta to the world beyond their island, she took her fire-marked daughter across the land bridge and toward their recently claimed lake in the early afternoon. The sky was clear so she didn't think there was any risk of the ever present storms that had been bothering them as of late, but she made sure to keep an eye out for dark clouds just in case.
As they neared the lake, she looked down to the young girl at her side, giving her a smile. "Maybe we can collect some of the reeds and cat tails while we're here. I think I've seen Avacyn using them in some of her projects so I'm sure you two could come up with something creative to do with them. And, if nothing else, maybe Irilyth can add them to her healing supplies." The lake was quiet with just the soft buzz and hum of bugs that were hidden in the thick vegetation to break the silence along with the quiet lap of the water at the rocky shore. She was glad that they had decided to claim this land for Elysium. It had been a highlight of their various travels before the pack was established and it really was a lovely addition to their territory. She tried not to guide Fia's path too heavily, instead letting the inquisitive pup wander as she pleased—just with a heavy dose of supervision.

The growing Fia walked alongside her mother as they made their way to the land bridge and further. Conserved as ever, she maintained her very calm un-pup like demeanor as they ventured out into the mainland still within Elysium's borders. But her mother, if the only soul who could see past her, may have noticed her curiosity in a flicker of her eye or the way she sniffed the air as they moved.
Bright and void eyes looked up at her mother as she mentioned an idea for the day, and Fia would easily follow suit. They made it to the lake where Fia only looked up at her mother for a few seconds before stepping forward toward the bank's edge. Fearless as she was, her paw dipped down into the water in front of her, just her paw pads breaking the surface. Saracyn had taught her to swim recently, though she wasn't going to just fly into the water here. That was unlike her. But still, she recognized even the slight change in the warmer weather here from Alias, especially in the colder months she was born.
She turned back up to her mother with a small smile, "Where are the cattails?" She wasn't quite sure what they were or how Irilyth could use them in healing, and while she was curious for lessons like that she'd be happy just to help collect them for now and take them back to the island. Or maybe she could craft something with Avacyn, she was more than content either way.

As they made their way closer to the lake, she let Fia go ahead of her a bit and she smiled while she watched her youngest daughter approach the edge of the water and tap it lightly with her crimson dipped paw. She always loved seeing her children explore the world around them and experience things for the first time. She stepped up beside Fia and reached out her own, larger paw beside her daughter's, lightly touching the surface as well and chuckling softly as the rings of the ripples across the surface connected with Fia's and made the tiny waves it created intermingle. She loved all of her children dearly, but she had to admit that it was far more relaxed and enjoyable taking Fia out to explore than it ever had been with Saracyn. The two red-marked children of their family couldn't have been more different in that regard and she didn't fear that Fia might run off into some sort of danger if she turned her back for a moment.
When Fia asked where the cat tails were, Manea turned her gaze back down to her little girl and nodded toward a thick patch of reeds and plant life off to the side a short distance from them. "Right over here, darling. There's lots of cat tails around here." Leading the way, she brought Fia over to the thicket and pulled some of the other kinds of reeds out of the way to reveal a whole cluster of cat tail plants. She plucked one with a quick snap of its stem, and settled back on her haunches as she gave Fia a grin. "Watch this." Using one of her claws, she ran it down the length of the thicker, dark brown end of the cat tail and caused the fluffy seeds contained within to explode outward in a puff ball of sorts, making her chuckle as she revealed a little trick of the plant to her daughter. "You don't want to try biting down on one of these things unless you want to get a mouth full of this stuff," she warned with a bit of humor to her tone. She couldn't imagine Fia trying something like that, but her brother on the other hand...
