Come down, come down sweet reverence
Jynn was excited for the days hunt. Birna had agreed to hunt with her for one of the mountain goats that lived on the mountains of Lazuli Falls. After living for who knew how long on nothing but small game she was eager for the chance to since her teeth into something larger an dmaybe even have some left over meat to preserve. Though that was hard to say. A lot depended on how much they both ended up eating. She followed after Birna as the snow leopard led them up one of the mountain trails to where her companion had sighted a small herd of mountain goats. Once they located them then it would be time to work out a strategy. Jynn just hoped she was agile enough to do this without breaking an ankle.

Birna led the way up the rocky path while her companion took to the skies to direct them. Soon they spied the the small herd grazing upon various grassess and lichens. She beckoned the maned wolf closer to herself and spoke in a low voice. "That male is injured, see how he limps. You come at him from this direction while I circle around." Once Jynn made it clear she understood Birna moved into position. She crept carefully through the rocky terrain and over to the otherside of the mountain goat herd. There was a light dusting of snow that helped to camoflague her but she knew it would take more than that to succeed. The snow also made it slick and she wondered how well Jynn would be able to keep her footing.

Jynn followed along after Birna, doing her best to stay low and not give their position away. Thankfully, as far as she knew, mountain goats couldn't see the color orange so it was less her coloring and more her movement that could give them away. With her long legs she was as adept at stalking in the rocky terrain. She was built more for grasslands. Still she was eager to try and she listened as Birna laid out her plan. Jynn nodded. "Sounds good." She moved to lay in wait until Birna was in position. Once Guelder gave the signal Jynn sprang forward toward the mountain goat. She had picked out her path while Birna got into position so she was able to bound forward with great strides. The goats bleated and scattered but Jynn kept her focus on their target.

Birna got into position, her limbs coiled beneath her as she looked to her companion. He gave the call to start and she bounded forward. She came in from one side and Jynn from the other as the goats scattered. Birna honed in on their target but the goat suddenly shifted downward. She leapt after it but soon they had it pinned where she'd rather not have it, up against a ledge. The goat turned and lowered its horns. Birna hissed and swore. Now they'd have to fight the thing without losing it over the edge or miscalculating a leap and tumbling after themselves. Suddenly the goat bounded forward. She shifted swiftly, avoiding the point of the horns but the goat still rammed her with its head. Her claws swiftly slashed the goats face as she backed away from it.

Jynn kept her focus on the buck at first but as they neared the cliffside she skidded to rapidly slow her pace. The goat, though injured, realized its predicament and chose to fight, charging at Birna. The cat fought back and with the goat's back to her Jynn leapt forward, fangs sinking into the goat's left hind leg as she tried to drag it back. It kicked out at her and she flinched as she was struck. What she wouldn't give for claws right now. Well sharper claws than she had. She tried to use her legs to find off the flailing goat but it was difficult for her to keep her footing. She could only hope that Birna would end this hunt quickly.
