Jynn followed after Birna again on another goat hunt. They'd managed to get one but had ended up eating most of the meat. Since both she and the leopard had been living off small prey it had been awhile since they were able to fill their bellies up until they were completely full. After talking with the leopard they decided to go on a few more hunts to get meat with the goal of preserving it. Jynn wanted some for her travels, Birna wanted a store for the winter ahead. Jynn had assumed they'd go for another mountain goat but they'd found the trail of some markhor, an animal Jynn was not familiar with but Birna informed her that they were goat like creatures just larger and with more impressive horns, especially the males. It made her nervous but she was also eager to branch out in her hunting.

It had snowed last night, leaving an inch or so of snow over the mountainous area of the falls. The clouds had sinced move on and the sun was beginning to break through. She and Jynn headed higher into the mountains in search of prey. The frest snow showed tracks clear as day. They'd had the luck to find Markhor tracks, an animal she was a bit more familiar with though they tended to be larger and more agile than the mountain goats they'd previously chased. Following the tracks they soon came across a small herd of the creatures, balanced precariously on the cliffside. Birna beckoned Jynn to herr then laid out the plan. She intended to use gravity to her advantage. "I'll get above them and drive them down toward you, go for one of the females. They're smaller with much smaller horns. A male will be difficult to take and likely lead to injury. Hopefully, we can crush our prey between us."

Jynn settled down as they spied the markhor. They were very much like mountain goats though they had sandy, grayish coats that helped them blend in better with the rock than the snow white coat of the mountain goats. She listened as Birna laid out the plan and hesitantly nodded her understanding. It made logical sense it was just that Jynn wasn't so keen on having a bunch of animals running toward her. She didn't have the bulk to grab something and just drag it down. Though the females were smaller they were still good sized. Still, maybe she could get ahold of one. Jynn moved into position down below the small herd, trying to guess where they were going to run. As before Birna's companion served as the go between, calling out from where it circled in the air above.

Birna noticed the hesitation but Jynn moved to get into position and she let it slide, hoping the woman had the guts for the hunt ahead. This was the risk with hunting larger prey. The more meat the greater the risk in getting it unless you were a luck scavenger. That was what Birna had learned. As Jynn moved below the herd Birna positioned herself above it. She stalked carefully, pausing when the markhor would pause to take in their surroundings. Guelder called out his battle cry, it was time to begin. Birna leapt down, running toward the markhor while using her large tail for balance as she navigated down toward the animals. They scattered and she fixed on the nearest female, a young doe that was diving gracefully downard but not with the momentum of the cat. Birna seized its hindquarters with her fangs, it kicked and flailed and as she tried to get her paws up she felt herself slip as both of the slid, tumbling down. Birna swore as she lost her grip. "Jynn!"

Jynn laid in wait, carefully watching the markhor and occasionally glancing over at Birna to see how the cat was doing with her task. Soon the raven called out and the quiet mountain side exploded into action. The markhor scattered, one of the males carreening down next to her and causing her heart to leap into her chest. Sheesh! This was not what she was cut out for. She fixed her attention on Birna, seeing the cat had picked a target and when Birna grabbed hold of the doe Jynn leapt out of her hiding place and sprang up, hoping to be able to help. The markhor slipped from Birna and crashed into Jynn. They tumbled in a tangle, Jynn managing to find the markhors throat but ending up beneath it.
