we might need one of these

After the incident with Askell and him nearly dying outside of Tojo borders, Tenshi had grown worried. If it were not for her large size, she would have had trouble assisting in carrying him back home. It left a lot on her mind as she wandered through the maze. Heading toward the direction where she had fended off the panda with Hanzo, she decided on what she needed to do. While most of the area had been cleaned up by herself, there was still a pile of knocked-over stalks acting as a barrier to the outside of the maze. Until the new bamboo would grow to take its place, Tenshi had left it there to ward off other predators. Now that the new growth was near her chest, she grabbed as much as she could bundle around a piece of leather and strap across her shoulders. Taking the long stalks back to a clearing where she had gathered other supplies, the dire woman went to work. Laying out six poles into three pairs, she moved to grab large leaves from a pile she had been also collecting to start making gurneys. Craft Healing Supplies (Gurney) - 1/3 |

The sound of rustling leaves and clacking branches had Hattori's dark ears tip in open curiosity. From scent alone he knew it wasn't anything to be concerned about, that it was a pack mate hard at work, but what exactly were they up to? And why? Shouldering his way through the bamboo, Hattori soon caught sight of the mountain wolf putting something together, something he couldn't put a name to from glance alone. His heavy paws rustled the bamboo leaf carpet as he approached, moving closer to inspect her handiwork.
"What are you doing?" Seemed like a safe place to start.

Setting poles beside each other about a dire wolf's width, Tenshi made sure they were as parallel as possible. Requesting that Kita and Fuji each hold one pole still while she continued her work, she paused at the rustle of leaves. Knowing that she wasn't the one who made the noise, she glanced over her shoulder. A small smile moved across her lips at the sight of Hanzo. Slowly, she was beginning to enjoy his company the more she got to know him. A little bit over time, she learned his behaviors and preferences. Like walls, trust was never built in a day. "I am crafting a gurney," there is hesitation for a moment as she wondered if he knew what that was. "Ah, a transporting cot for the injured," Tenshi added on as she went back to her task at hand. She would leave the floor open for Hanzo to ask whatever questions he wanted to ask. Grabbing wide strips of leather she had recently tanned from a recent grizzly kill, she began to lay them out between the poles. Stepping back to think how it would be best to attach them to the poles, she wished she had a companion with dextrous thumbs to assist in this part. Figuring it best to carve a hole on each side and slide it over the ends, Tenshi grabbed a throwing star and went to work. Craft Healing Supplies (Gurney) - 2/3 |

Aside from Askell and Usagi, no one had gotten majorly hurt this far. But he supposed it was better to be safe than sorry, and if nothing else it was a good use of bamboo. In all honesty, Hattori hadn't put much stock in her healing abilities from the start, but the more he saw her work the more he believed his initial assumption to be false. He didn't intend to say as much, but he knew she was a shrewd and sharp-eyed woman, she would have noticed his change in heart. Probably.
"Have you spoken to Sedna?"He asked, thinking it would make sense for the two of them to collaborate. If nothing else and Tenshi kept this up perhaps a promotion would be in order. The ranks hadn't shifted about much as of late and his people were working hard, it was only fair.

Her work was tedious but fulfilling as she cut near-perfect holes the size of the bamboo poles into the sides of the leather. She could feel Hanzo watching her work and that she did not mind. If she were embarrassed or shy about her Kaicho watching her work, she would have told him to leave sooner. As the holes were finished being made on each side of the leather strips, she moved to begin sliding them over the ends of the poles. Tenshi would pause when Hanzo asked if she had spoken to Sedna. "I have introduced myself, but keep my distance for now. She is busy raising her pups and some first-time mothers tend to be overly protective," she states, once more in a matter-of-fact sense as there is no beating around the bush on these subjects. The woman knew of Sedna's abilities for healing, but the times she had gone by their living quarters, a lesson had been in place and Tenshi was not one to intrude. "Rheum is a good student and I appreciate being able to help the pup learn some techniques," Tenshi adds on with a small smile. Though, she does wish the other pups would show interest in healing lessons as well. She continues to work on her gurney. Efficiently sliding the wide pieces of leather onto the bamboo poles and using a sap-like substance to hold them in place. The idea was to get at least one done for now and if it proved they needed more in the future, she would craft more. Stepping back to admire her craftmanship, Tenshi finally stole another glance at Hanzo. "Is Sedna okay? Is that why you ask of her?" She questions, curious now that possibly Hanzo had been inquiring because Sedna needed help more than friendship. Craft Healing Supplies (Gurney) - 3/3 |

"I do not think she would mind. She is not that sort of mother. I thought you could collaborate when it comes to running the infirmary." He had little interest in pitting one against the other, testing to see who was the better healer. Rather the more paws on deck, the better.
He nodded at Tenshi's following words, he found the off pink child agreeable enough and was glad to learn she was taking up healing as well. Perhaps if all went well it would be a good idea to plant a herbary, give the growing pup some responsibility.
"Do you need help moving it?" It didn't look overly heavy, but perhaps a bit clunky to move about the thinner corridors.

She listened to Hanzo's words with a soft nod of her head. "I do believe I can carve out some time with Sedna soon," Tenshi would not disagree that Hanzo's suggestion was inaccurate. Two heads were always better than one and with both of them coming from very different backgrounds, they would be able to assist each other in a bountiful way. Stepping back to admire her handiwork, she moved her gaze to Hanzo when he offered her his help. Another small smile flashed upon her lips before it disappeared. "I would appreciate that," her voice is a pleasant hum as she moved back toward the gurney. Letting her companions slink off into the shadows to go do what snow leopards did, she picked up one side of the gurney. Slinging it over her shoulders and back, the woman looked back at Hanzo. "To the infirmary?" Tenshi questions just in case the Kaicho had a different idea of where it should be kept. SPEECH |

Propping it up onto his shoulder, Hattori took a moment to adjust to make it comfortable. Many seasons ago, a little while before he'd arrived in Boreas he'd sustained injuries that were stubborn to heal. Nothing that some rest hadn't fixed but ever since he found he had an urge to roll his shoulders more often than not, test the strength of bone and joints just to make sure everything was as it ought to be. Reassurance that he was in his very best condition, missing toe aside of course. That would not grow back nor would he want it to, what was done was done.
"Very well." He agreed easily enough, allowing her to take the lead as he held onto the back end of the gurney. As he predicted it wasn't heavy in the slightest, just a little awkward to move it about. At least without practice, in time it might get easier. "How is Askell faring? I heard he was unwell, not himself." He asked, wanting to know how he was from a healers perspective.
