No deadline on this one, I'll put up another round after three-ish more characters join (excluding Dread)
This is a pup-friendly lesson too, but whoever would like to attend is welcome

Summer had come on, but it was certainly less blistering here. Maybe there was something to be said for the move. Relocating to somewhere that wasn't quite so blistering, with all the heat and humidity of the southern lands, was actually... was actually kinda nice. Though Halo missed the natural irrigation that came from the Rio Grande, it seemed that her plants were doing better up here as well. Fewer had become wilted and scorched, a stark contrast to last year's crop.
Still, with all of the business of the spring, Halo hadn't gotten as many seeds into the ground as she would have liked. There wouldn't be any harm in trying to plant a few more now, though, right? There were still prepared beds with space, and Halo chose one particularly empty flower bed to begin setting up. Carefully, the healer brought out some rosemary seeds. They were hardy, and would likely do well in the warmth and the sun. Considering the job ahead of her, the pale healer considered for a moment. Yes, she may as well call for the others, particularly the children. Maybe they'd enjoy the lesson... or at least enjoy digging in the dirt.
"Does anyone want to help with some planting?" Halo's voice was gentle, though she'd learned well enough how to encourage it to carry through the Col. That, and at least the pups should be close by.
"Halo"

Maybe he'd been pushing the boundaries of his exploration... maybe a little bit. Dread wanted to see what else was out there, beyond their rocky home in the Col. He had to know what was out there... why couldn't they go farther yet? He'd been down to the beach with his father just a few days before, and Dread longed to return. He needed to. Had to. There were things that the sand did when he walked, things that he really needed to sort out. How was he meant to learn how his paws were supposed to work if he couldn't go back down there on his own? Ugh. Halo's call was enough to bring Dread back to the heart of the Armada, though. She'd spread a bundle of something out, and was waiting expectantly near one of the vacant, dug up dirt patches. He studied it for a long moment before looking to the healer, confusion showing on his face. It was clearly a bundle of... something? But he couldn't really tell what. Gazing from the bundle to the healer and back, Dread asked his question as he drew closer. "What're those?" They'd be planting something... planting? Sure. Whatever it was, Dread supposed he could help. Anything she could teach him about fixing people, he'd take. |

The downside of being kept within the Col was the boredom that quickly set in when the industrious young children had run out of nooks and crannies to explore. So the summons for help was well received by the young Fatalis boy. Crux didn't yet know what the woman meant by her request, let alone her name but he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to do something new. The boy gave up his chewing on a twig. His sabers made his gums ache a bit as they were starting to grow in properly, though they were still quite small, and chewing seemed to ease the pain somewhat. But there was something new to do!
So Crux made his way towards the summons, spotting his brother already approaching the unknown woman and Crux did his best to pick up his pace though his gate would never be smooth so was always a little bit slower than his siblings, but he didn't want to miss anything if his brother was already learning what planting even meant. Crux gave Dread a little nod of his head, clearly doing his best to make it clear to his brother that he was fine, since he knew that Dread was concerned about himself and their sisters, before turning his big steel blue eyes towards the older woman, his gaze clearly fully of curiosity.
