The sudden pockets of autumn weather were fascinating to her and she desperately wanted to go see it for herself. She had heard about it from those that had gone to see and experience the mysterious, mystical statues, but none of it had crept close enough to Elysium's lands for her to see it just yet. She of course knew she was plenty old enough now to go exploring on her own and see everything she wanted to, but why would she do it alone when she could take her dear brother along with her? She most certainly preferred his company over doing anything on her own. It was funny how much she had at one point agreed to learn how to fight just to make their father more willing to let her go out on her own only to never want to actually do that.

She and Cerberus made a bit of a trek just so she could see the little pocket of perfect autumn weather. They found the edge of this bubble of fall a while ago, but it was in places like the pitfall and crypt where a nice walk didn't seem as enjoyable so she kept going until they reached the rolling, quiet hills of the buffalo knolls. Everything felt still and quiet in the early afternoon, all of the grasses still fairly plush, but now tinged with yellows and browns as the cooler air affected everything. The trees that were clustered on top of the hills were bright with orange and red and she smiled as her blue and pink gaze took it all in. "I do really like all the colors of the leaves here in Boreas," she mentioned as they walked slowly down the path. "In Auster the tropical trees on the island didn't really turn like this and the pine needles on the cedar trees didn't really either."

Cerberus was happy to take Ruse wherever she wanted to go. He knew of her want and curiosity of the lands beyond their island back at Fenmyre, and now he had much more time on his paws to be able to take her places to explore. He was a little older now too, and with their family dispersed between lands he felt like he was more capable than ever to be her guide. They didn't have huge responsibilities back in Elysium, so they could spend a night or two out here on their travels.

As they moved forward through the changing lands, Cerberus at first was looking around at their surroundings in the strange captivity of the land around them. Everything seemed to change though as he looked forward at Ruse and saw her taking everything in. Things that he hadn't really realized she'd never seen before. He smiled with a quiet hum to himself and pushed forward through the knolls.

His gentle eyes kept on her as she spoke, giving him that hint of how this may have been her first time seeing this. It was not for him, "Dad and I came here last autumn." Just that glimpse that he had seen the atmosphere like this before. "I haven't been through here, though the autumn brought doesn't seem quite the same." His eyes moved over the landscape as he pushed forward again. It looked like autumn, it smelled like autumn, but there was this eerie sense that it was almost to good to be true. It wasn't natural for sure, but nothing seemed to be deceptive. Under the sparse trees of the knolls, Cerberus looked back to his sister with a daring grin turning up on his maw before he flicked some of the fallen leaves towards her.

Ruse looked up at Cerberus curiously when he mentioned how he and their father had come here last autumn, but that it didn't feel the same. "Really?" she mused, scanning the land around them again. Of course she didn't have anything to compare it to, but she wasn't sure how a place like this could be all that different. She did have to admit that it almost seemed too perfect, like everything had been made a very certain way somehow. She tried not to wonder about it too much though and just enjoy the pretty scenery. The weather was cool, but not too cool and she was enjoying the vibrant colors of the leaves that occasionally drifted down to the ground. It was weird to think how much time had passed. She was already half way to her second birthday and soon she'd get to see all kinds of seasons up here in Boreas. It made her wonder how long it would be before their family returned... would it be months? A year? More?

While her thoughts were wandering she completely missed her brother's grin and jumped a bit when she was suddenly hit with a scattering of leaves, making her blink and give a little shake to toss off the few that landed on her back and head that got stuck there. She tossed him a playful glare and a grin and scooped up a few leaves to toss them back at him, giggling lightly with her tail wagging behind her. Up above them there was a squeaking and chattering and when she glanced up she saw a little rodent—maybe a chipmunk or something similar—that she could have sworn was scolding them even if she couldn't understand what it was trying to tell them. Whatever it was saying it wasn't pleased at what they were doing. She glanced back to Cerberus with a shrug and nodded for them to continue on their way down this oddly well manicured path.

Cerberus tried not to think much about their father and of course the queens that were more like mothers to him than they may have known. It was easier for him he thought, doing usual patrols and hunting and just filling the time of his days with anything because he was so used to being busy all the time. There were a lot less tiny bellies to feed in Elysium than there had been in Fenmyre, so most everyone was capable of themselves. He helped supply to the stores of course.

Cerberus let out a couple chuckles himself, this seemed to be a constant with Ruse though this was how he reacted with most of his siblings. A little less Scylla and Albion, but all in all he was a pretty playful brother. He was very stoic like their father, but more than a little playful and teasing to his siblings.

He looked up at the clearly irritated critters up in the tree, still that sly grin on his face as if what they wanted didn't mean anything at all. It didn't. But he supposed all of the events were their doing so they should respect them. He followed beside Ruse as they stepped off, back on the path where they were headed. "I hope you enjoy being here as much as I enjoy bringing you out here." A genuine and kind comment. She probably didn't need to be told or reminded, but Cerberus really did care for her as much as he cared for the rest of their family.

She fell back into step easily beside Cerberus as they moved on from where the little rodent had been chastising them, continuing their leisurely stroll through this pocket of magical autumn. Now that she knew that this bit of fall felt different from what Cerberus had experienced, she was interested to see what real fall was like when it came. It should just be around the corner, but of course she didn't know how all these strange occurrences were going to effect things. It made her wonder if whatever was causing these things was fabricating this bit of weather somehow or if maybe they had figured out how to accelerate time to push them into fall more quickly. It was all so curious and fascinating and she wished she knew how it all worked, but she doubted that she'd ever know.

Her gaze was pulled away from the landscape they were passing through, looking up to her brother as he mentioned his hope for her enjoying being out here as much as he enjoyed bringing her here. Cerberus had long been her buddy when it came to having someone to explore with and she was very much thankful for his willingness to do so. She always enjoyed his company and she liked to think that he enjoyed hers as well. It seemed like that was the case, or at least that's what she inferred from his comment, and it made her grin up at him happily. "I always love going places with you," she insisted. Sometimes their adventures were more exciting and sometimes they were just a stroll through some autumn trees. Either way he had made staying here in Boreas with him worth it.

A more proud grin went across his maw as she agreed, it was more than he could describe the way he felt for her. It felt like it was with all of his siblings but maybe it was growing over that. Other than Albion it was just Ruse that had come with him to Elysium, but she felt different than even Albion. Still he would take her anywhere she wanted to go regardless of how strong their bond became.

His attention was mostly on her as they kept their steps ahead of them on the path made by the familiars and he'd make the most of their time while they were out of Elysium. Things wouldn't be much different when they returned but the short trip was somewhat like a getaway vacation. And he'd take her out again, maybe even ask if there was somewhere she wanted to go. For now they just had the chance to experience, and admire what the strange change had to offer them.
