There wasn’t much anymore that really caught Deathbelle’s attention, more than not she just went through the motions of life. There was hardly a spark left and if anyone was closest to the spirit world it was one who already had one of their paws in the grave. Part of the once Empress wondered why she was still here on this mortal plane, suffering through life’s indignities and sorrows with no certain end in sight. She didn’t appear to be deteriorating on the outside but inside her heart had rotted out. Deathbelle felt hollow and it had been a long time since a smile had graced her features.
However, the magic that filled the air and changed the season before her eyes brought a considerable amount of life back to her bones. Deathbelle’s curiosity was renewed as her dainty paws led her carefully through the steppe as her eyes fell on the ethereal feasts.

Drunk and driven by a devil's hunger...
At one point the mists finally parted and Harbringr found himself standing between two large stones. His memory was as hazy as the mist that rolled past his feet and try as he might he couldn't quite recall where he'd been going or what he was doing here. Well, standing around wouldn't help. Sometimes all one could do was move forward.
Through the mists he saw a familiar figure cloaked in black and white. The flicker of recognition sparked into a sudden flame as he recognized his sister. "Deathbelle! Spirits alive, is that really you?" He bounded toward her suddenly aware of how transparent he seemed to be and how his paws made no noise on the ground. Oh… oh that's right… he was dead. But if he was dead then what was he doing here?

Vibrant royal purple eyes lifted to the off seasonal autumnal decoration all around her. Not just the efforts of the familiars, but the brightly colored paintings of fall on the leaves of the deciduous trees. She didn’t really know any of the faces that lingered here, but she couldn’t help the feeling there was someone there. Someone that she knew. Her attention drifted from the leaves to the soft breeze that had blown through, and she could have sworn she heard her name being called. Her ears fell to her skull when she realized no one was there, and her heart suddenly felt even heavier than a moment before. Like she had lost something and couldn’t quite remember what it was, however weighty the sorrowful feeling was.
”Hello?” She asked into the darkness softly, already knowing there was no one there.

Deathbelle spoke and he felt a pang in his heart at the familiar voice. "Deathbelle!" He called out but he questioned whether or not she could really hear him. She must've sensed he was there but Hari had no idea how to properly communicate to one of the living now that he was bound in spirit form. How did he make his presence more known? Growling in frustration he kicked at a small rock, sending it skittering across the clearing and into the grass. His ears perked up. Ok… well that was something. But how did he let Deathbelle know it was him without scaring her?
He gazed at the feast of food laid out, searching until he spied what he was looking for. Concentrating on a blue berry he poked it out of its basket and onto the table. Hoping she was still hanging around he did the same with a dandelion that had been laid out as decoration trying to maneuvering the items to together. Blueberry for his blue right eye, dandelion for his golden left.

The once Empress stared out into the nothingness for a long moment, the feeling of longing only growing stronger as the nothing was ever more obvious. The veil between worlds was thin, but not enough that Deathbelle could see or hear her beloved visitor. Only little nagging feelings and the sound of her name on the breeze. The ivory splattered she wolf felt a shiver run up her spine, but not because it was cold. Her mismatched ears perked when she felt the nudge of a pebble at her feet. Again her purple eyes looked up to find no one in front of her. She was beginning to feel foolish now, but she could have sworn someone was trying to get her attention.
She sighed heavily, lingering for another moment before shaking her head and turning back to the feast. A face caught her gaze, but as she took a second look she realized her mind had played a trick on her. ”Hari…” She mused softly as she realized her eye had been caught by a dandelion and a blueberry and she thought she had seen her brother. The thought of him sent a shock through her and tears welled up into her eyes. Her heart clenched tightly as his memory flooded her thoughts and senses. ”I miss you.” Belle sobbed softly to the flower and berry.

Hari waited with baited breath to see how Deathbelle would react, praying that she would try and puzzle it out rather than run off spooked. It was so frustrating not to be able to speak to her, to communicate as he normally would. He could see a sadness in her eyes, a somber veil that seemed to have fallen over his sister since the last time he'd seen her, back when he was alive. He wanted so much to comfort her, but how?
Deathbelle's eyes caught sight of his small bit of mischief, the dandelion and blueberry and she spoke his name before beginning to cry. He knew he didn't have a body any more but still he could swear he felt his own tears on his cheeks. "I miss you too, sis. I miss you so much." He lifted a paw and stretched it out toward his sister, concentrating as hard as he could as he sought to gently pat her shoulder. Surely if he could move the berry and the small flower he could manage this. He had to do something, anything, desperate to give his sister some gesture of comfort.
