This was far from what he had learned from the world. Though he did wonder what kind of world lie beyond the waters. Though he didn't want to find out. This world was the one he would cling to until the very day he died after all. Oddity in the end, was an odd male who could never have the urge of a normal wolf. Though perhaps he was normal, in the end, maybe he was just like everyone else. He felt the water hit his paws as he lowered his head and gave a small chuckle. He supposed that was how it was going to be for the rest of his life in the first place. This world was full of interesting creatures and personalities. After all, in the end he was only one part of it all.
Oddity sat down and curled his tail around his front paws as he looked at his reflection within the water. The scar on his chest that his father gave him when he nearly tore the small pup in half. Though he had survived it and look where he today. There were wolves trusting him, there were creatures who found him interesting. Maybe it was because he was different which was what made him so interesting to others.

Uncertainty plagued him. He hadn't seen Alessa in a few days, and honestly he didn't really want to. Once he had left her side, the confusion had set in. What had he been thinking? He couldn't get tied down, he couldn't get attached. Letting her in would put his mission out of place. Besides, it wasn't like he could tell her what he was planning anyway. It wasn't like him to want to stay with someone, not at all...

Or was it? Killian shook his head aggressively, rousing a sleeping Smee on his back. The marten eyed him curiously, but thought it best not to question what was going on, sure he could guess what the problem was anyway. Killian had confided his concerns in Smee on their walk immediately after leaving the girl at the lake, but his thoughts had become so erratic that he ended up just falling into silence.

Sand made its way deep within his fur as he resumed his walk along the beach, so lost in his own thoughts that he almost missed the brute sitting in his path on the waters edge. He stopped just short of the male and eyed him cautiously with bright red eyes. Killian didn't know this male - in fact he had never even caught his scent anywhere before - but something about him felt uncertain. After a moment's hesitation, he spoke up to greet the male, determined to figure out what exactly it was that had him feeling so off-put.

So, stranger, what brings you out here at this time of night?

His gaze remained unwavering, ruby eyes focused intently on the creature before him. What was it that made him so uncomfortable about this male? He had never seen him, never scented him, and yet... Something simply wasn't right. Smee's slight movement hinted to Killian that his companion had similar feelings. He felt his skin begin to itch from the sand that had seeped into his fur, but he ignored it.

I can't say I've met a wolf who fears the dark, he replied coolly, never once removing his gaze from the strange creature before him. My name is Killian. He hoped that an introduction would coax further words out of the male, perhaps providing the answer to the question that burned within him.
