I Don't Wanna Be A Big People

With age came responsibility she supposed, and with that came more lessons on all things. She was getting involved into more fight training and she was working on making her place into the pack slowly. Patrols and things. She'd be lying if she said she didn't miss her younger days where she could just chill out and relax. But she also had to admit she liked feeling a little more overpowering as time went on. She liked training, at least in the ways she wanted.
She waited for her mother inside their family den for the time being, she knew harder duties were being shared between her and Avacyn as her older siblings had come onto their second birthday. She also noticed the more presence of her father though he wasn't necessarily absent before. She had just known the strain and divide of her parents. And that seemed to dwindle down back into a more normal settlement. She wasn't one to question really, not directly to either her mother or father.
She had been given some ideas on what it meant to be a Mendacium, but it seemed like today would be the day they would dive more into it. It was like a coming of age thing. Not that she really understood much about that.

Manea made her way back to the family caves after her morning patrol, eager to spend some time with Fiametta. She always enjoyed teaching and sharing the defining features of their family with the younger generations of Mendacium wolves, but she was also just looking forward to spending some time with her youngest daughter. The duties that the pack required of her kept her attention more often than not and it did make finding time to do much else a bit difficult. She made the time today though and she was very much looking forward to it.
When she stepped into the cave she found Fia there waiting on her and she smiled, coming over to join her daughter where she was resting. “Hello, my beautiful flame,” she said affectionately as she settled in beside her, making herself comfortable for the lesson. “How has your day been so far, my love? Are you ready for your next lesson?”

Fia smiled too as her mother entered the den and joined her, scooting just a little before settling down again. Fia's family all had their own important roles for the pack, but she never felt deprived of anything. Her parents and siblings all had time one way or another to get a little time with her and that was enough. Even Saracyn tolerated her when they were together, not that she thought he disliked her much or anything.
Her eyes rose up to her mother's as she spoke, a small wag in her tail as she asked, "It's been alright, the usual." She wasn't complaining, she liked the simplicity of her young life. "I suppose so." She was still eager to learn about her family and traditions, but she had always been relatively quiet and reserved. Her mother should have been able to tell how she felt though. She was the happiest in the presence of her family opposed to the number of group lessons that had been going on recently. She would have much rather learned from her parents or siblings than someone she didn't really know. Her comfortability laid on one side and it was very obvious. She was more than willing to hear what her mother wanted to teach her today.

"Good," Manea replied as Fia told her about her day simply and agreed to being ready for their lesson. Fia was the most laid back of her three children and seemed to take everything in stride which Manea appreciated about the fire-marked girl. She crossed her paws as she settled in and got comfortable while deciding where to start with their lessons. She knew there were some things that Fia would have overheard or learned through shorter conversations, but now was a chance to go more in depth about their family and the beliefs that guided them. She couldn't say that the Mendacium beliefs were quite like any other religion she had encountered in her travels and couldn't really even label it as such, but there were some firm laws that they all followed that would be good for Fia to hear as she got older and started to figure out her own future and relationships.
"I've told you before about the Ancients and how our strengths, abilities, and unique appearances are gifts from them," she began, "but part of how we can make sure that we are keeping our bloodline strong and continuing to be the best vessels for these souls that the Ancients give us is by finding the best partner to have our pups with. The Ancients don't leave it all up to us to decide who would be the best match for us though." She smiled a bit as she went on, saying, "Somewhere in the world there is or will be a wolf that the Ancients create just for you. Your soulmate. That wolf has a piece of the Ancient souls in them and it's our job as a Mendacium to find that wolf and bring them into our family and rejoin that Ancient soul with ours." She paused there, letting Fia absorb what she had said so far and letting her ask any questions if she had them.

Fia had always listened diligently to what her mother, or Irilyth, or Avacyn had to teach her. Her skills varied, maybe not strong in anything particular at the moment but she definitely knew her fair share of different things for her young age. Learning about her family's culture was not something she would stray from.
She knew about the internal strength that her family held, not just physically. It was something that she could feel almost deep down in her soul but watching her parents and siblings and even some of the other family members here in the pack she knew they strength they all could have especially together. It was beyond the physical, but that certainly didn't hurt to be strong too.
"Like you and dad? Or Ava and Albion?" She had honestly seen the differences between their two relationships, at least in the ways that her parents seemed much more passionate towards each other. When she got to thinking about it she had considered that maybe having kids had made them grow stronger together or something of the sort, she couldn't be sure but that was just her young idea. She wouldn't really mention though, she was pretty good at keeping things to herself or at least things she thought weren't really relevant. She did just take the moment to think about what the future would have in store for her, it was an unusual thought. And she did wonder if she would find or be set up with her soul mate so soon in her life just like her sister had.
