Fia had started growing out of her more secluded nature or at least her more homebody nature. She had spent most of her pup life around the family den and just outside in the mountain paths and the lake and she had gone places with both of her parents too but she was starting to grow more outward of that life. As she got older she was getting more bored of all the things she used to do which was practically nothing. And she helped where she could of course but she was seeing there was more to life than everything she had been doing. She saw her faults at least.
Today she was up in the mountain ranges of the island in the areas that were more uninhabited by the members of the pack but open to those who may join in the future. She was wondering if maybe she could find something new or interesting if she investigated the caves up where no one had been for a while. She went in and out of a few of the cave dens that didn't have much of anything in them other than sticks and bugs, and she was starting to lose hope that she came up here for any reason at all. It was after a few short searches that she went to exit a slightly bigger cave divot that she was greeted by a grizzly just outside of the caves. It seemed pretty unaware of her until she came outside but was immediately threatened by her presence. Maybe it had some bad run ins with members of the pack or other wolves before that she could tell there was some sense of fear in the way it reacted at first sight. But of course, after a few seconds it was going to defend itself rather than run and she was realizing what a world of trouble she may have been in. She ducked under a swiping paw trying to make her way back the way she came on the mountain path but it was too narrow for her to just jump by the bear to head back towards the more common areas of the pack.

Saracyn had been up high in the mountains hunting for those damn elusive mountain goats that had nearly gotten him killed the season prior. Today, the seasoned hunter had managed to successfully catch one and was heading back down the winding paths with his kill when he heard the distinctive roar of an upset grizzly bear. A sneer curled the young prince's lips at the sound. Hadn't they killed all those damn bears when they took over the island? Muttering under his breath, Sara dropped his kill at a crossroads and veered off on his own to go track down the bear. He found it a little ways off just outside the isolated and unoccupied caves further up into the mountains, swatting at something that was bothering it. It wasn't until he came closer that Saracyn realized that something was his little sister.
In an instant, a blind rage filled Saracyn's heart and he saw red. He hated bears on a good day; one threatening his family member had forfeited its right to live. A feral snarl broke from the red wolf's lips as he charged the bear, fangs bared and large paws thundering over the rocky ground as he barreled toward the angry ursine. The dire wolf leaped and landed on the grizzly's back, sharp claws digging into its backside while his serrated fangs latched down onto the bear's shoulders and began to tear away with vicious jerks of his head. The bear bellowed in pain and confusion, then reared up on its hind legs to try and shake the wolf off of it. This made enough space for Fiametta to be able to slip past the bear and into more open space where they could fight and maneuver more easily. "Move!" Sara shouted to his sister, doing all he could to distract the bear from landing a killing blow on the pup.

She wouldn't expect her brother to jump in on the scene, but none the less she was grateful. She wouldn't be celebrating to high heavens or anything, jeez. But she was as thankful as she could show which was little to none.
She eagerly jumped past the bear on the narrow ledge of the mountain trail, bumping into it's thigh while Saracyn had it distracted by clinging up on it's back. Her bumping into it though made it a little more aware of where she was if only for the second, and it would swing around to swipe where she had been beside it's leg. She was well out of the way already, but where Saracyn ended up on the bull was to be seen. She wouldn't run away once she was on the path back home, instead turning to face the bear with her brother. She jumped forward, latching onto the bear with her sharpening teeth right under the armpit where it couldn't reach her. She tried to get as much momentum to throw it off balance with her weight and it would be enough to make it stumble but not quite enough to get it to fall. With the bear so inland of the pack island, she knew they would have to finish the job rather than hope it run off into the oceans. She didn't have much of a problem following through with that of course.

Fia thankfully had the wherewithal to listen to his directions as he barked them out to her at least. The girl dove out of the way of the bear's paws and back to the safety of the cliff ledge on their side while Saracyn continued to bite and claw at the bear's face and neck. Though he didn't strike anything vital or damaging, it was enough to distract and enrage the bear, the massive ursine wheeling about to whip the wolf on its back off of it. Sara held on for as long as he could, then jumped off the bear like a springboard and landed beside his sister. Turning to bare deadly serrated fangs to their opponent, Saracyn stood beside his sibling, prepared to fight to the death to defend their home—and just to enjoy killing a worthy opponent. The grizzly roared at the wolves and advanced on them, not willing to give up its territory to the Mendaciums.
Saracyn watched Fiametta as she charged back into the fight, throwing herself at the bear's legs to try and get it off balance. The red prince took the opening his little sister made for him and charged at the opposite side of the bear, watching as it reared up on its hind legs to get the height advantage over the wolves. That would ultimately become its downfall. Rushing up along the side of the cliff, Sara leaped up and sprung off the cliff to propel himself directly at the bear, landing on its shoulder again with such force that the bear began to topple over under its own unstable weight. Sharp fangs bit and bit into any parts of flesh and fur he could reach, all while riding the bear like it was a bucking bull, unaware that Saracyn was corralling it closer and closer to the edge of the cliff.

Fia was learning quickly to watch Saracyn for every move he made even while her attention was directed straight onto the bear. She'd see as he bound up onto the stone face, and jump back on top of the bear. She stayed where she was for just a moment before unlatching and taking a couple steps back. She huffed a little from the amount of work while little wasn't what she was used to. She was much smaller than her brother in many ways, but almost at her full height as the year would come around.
The bear stumbled and moved it's focus onto Saracyn as he was the only offender for the moment, and it gave Fia that opportunity to strike in again. Her eyes looked up over the upwards side of the cliff that Saracyn had just used to his advantage and without hesitation she fell back onto her haunches and sprung forward for that reflective momentum off the side of the mountain. She felt the stone slip under her paws and for just a second she was worried that she had made a huge mistake by taking on more than she could handle. It would all come together though as her body flung towards the bear and her claws were piercing into it's chest going upwards of it's shoulder. It was enough to get the bear to topple finally, falling under the weight of the wolves.
Fia fell harshly on her back to the ground with the bear, but that quick adrenaline had her spinning to finish the job. The top half of it's body was hanging over the cliff's edge and it struggled to maneuver itself back into safety. Fia reacted fast by throwing her sharp feline claws forward into the ribcage of the bear, it's pain response making it retract away from them and in the end off the steep slope of the mountain. Again, it took her a moment to register but a grin pulled up on her maw maybe more than her brother had ever seen. Maybe it was just the thrill of the fight that had her so celebratory, but it was unlike anything she had experienced before. Still catching her breath, she stayed peering down over the edge of the mountain, "Should we make sure it's dead?" There was a bit of a humorous tone in her voice, more just from that cheery look on her face. She wouldn't have minded if it perished a long and painful death, but maybe they should make sure there hadn't been a slim chance it survived.

From his position on top of the grizzly bear and attempting to keep it under his control, Saracyn couldn't exactly keep an eye on where Fiametta was in relation to the action. He only hoped that she had the wherewithal to keep herself out from underneath its feet and away from the cliff ledge. If not... well, he guess he'd have to explain to his parents why their youngest child was an idiot who got herself yeeted off a cliff by a bear. Fortunately for Sara, it seemed he wouldn't need to have that conversation, as a moment later he saw his fire-marked sister leap up onto the bear's chest, clawing at it while pushing it backwards to help him out. With the two wolves' combined strength, they got it right to the edge of the cliff, and with one more strong tug and a push from Fia to its chest, the bear went careening over the edge. Saracyn released his hold on the bear and kicked off of its thick form, landing on the mountain path beside his sister and turning to watch their opponent fall to its demise with a roar that echoed around the mountains until with a sickening crunching thud, it landed on the rocks far below.
All way quiet while Saracyn panted for breath, peering over the edge at the crumpled body of the ursine several dozen meters below them. With the way its corpse was strewn and twisted, there was no way it had survived. Still, Fia asked if they should go make sure it was dead. The red-furred prince raised a questioning brow to his sister as if asking "...Really?" and then gestured over the cliff to the sheer drop that the bear had fallen down. "Be my guest," came his sarcastic retort. Instead, Sara looked about until he found a decently sized rock and instead chucked it off the side, watching as it fell down, down, down to hit the bear in its head. The bear showed no reaction, made no more and uttered no sound. Saracyn scoffed and looked back to Fia. "It's dead." Taking a quick moment to look over his younger sibling, he asked, "Did it get you anywhere?"
