Anywhere but back there

Ono didn't know what she was doing. She'd been planning to hunker down in Auster for some time, but well that wasn't going to work. But she didn't really want to go back to the band either. She didn't have anywhere to go. She very much doubted that her family even really noticed she hadn't been returning nearly as much. The young woman wandered her way back from Auster, skirting the edges of a pack and so allowing herself to take the more treacherous paths of the ravine.
Her going was slow, her reduced visibility keeping her slow. The last thing she wanted was to fall, the river was a long way down and the bank looked rocky. For all her complex feelings about her family, the idea of her mother wondering where she was, never knowing she'd slipped and broken her neck made her deeply sad. So she was being extra cautious to make sure that didn't happen. But it left her with little else to do but to wallow in her worry and uncertainty.

With her promotion, Seere had been given more responsibilities within her pack. It often meant that she didn’t have time to go out an explore like she use to but the small girl couldn’t complain; life is good and she is content. Still, she does need to take some time for herself and today she is doing just that. The steep sides of the fjord call to her and the small girl carefully races her Pallas’s cat up and down the treacherous paths. Laughter fills the air as she goes and the pure excitement of being alive pours off the small wolf as she goes. The crisp winter air fills her lungs, causing her to puff out huge clouds of steam as she climbs.
Pausing on a ledge to pant heavily from the exertion, the girl casts her mismatched gaze around to find where Paunch is when she finds a form slowly scaling the sides of the ravine. The wolf is some distance off and may not have noticed her so the girl continues to watch their slow progress. Head tilts as she wonders if the wolf needs help and slowly begins to climb down toward them. Giving a small ‘woof’ of warning at her approach, Paunch joins the monochrome girl as they climb down the rocks to join the wolf. As she nears, Seere recognizes the girl and happily calls out, “Ono?! Ono, is that you?”
They had met as pups and the smaller girl enjoyed the time they spent playing together. Plus, Ono has a really cool mushroom on her eye that makes her really unique. Seere wonders if that is why she is going slowly, so that her limited vision doesn’t cause her fall. As the girl’s Pallas’s cat effortless traverses the rocks, an idea begins to take form.
Seere has a male Pallas's cat named Paunch and a female barn swallow named Aisling. They are always nearby.
