Habari was gone and Kotori wasn’t sure what ripples it would cause.  Would there be revenge on the one who took down Habari or would it be accepted as simply a stronger wolf having proven their right to claim the pack?  Kotori didn’t know the pack well enough for his own personal interest but if Ashen or Armada planned to get riled up over it then it might become his business.  For now, though, it gave nice land to roam and hunt in.

His prey unfortunately had moved a bit too close to where a tiger had been hiding.  Kotori had followed the trail of the prey only to watch it leap to its death as a tiger slammed into it.  The fawn didn’t have a chance and Kotori waited until it was fully dead.

Now then.  That had been his.

Cat and wolf snarled at each other before they both charged to learn who got their meal and who died.  Kotori’s teeth aimed for the cat’s neck as it raised up to attack with claws and teeth.  Kotori swung wide to miss the attack, jerking his head sideways, his horns enough of a threat to keep the cat at bay as he spun around to face the predator again.

"Kotori Fatalis"

The seasons move on, packs rise and fall and, during all of it, Kalyke still remains missing. Kore wanders through the once pack land, allowing his thoughts to drift to what might have happened to his blue fire-kissed brother. When the Rio Grande had been claimed, the three siblings had gotten separated but, unlike his sister, Ao, Kal has not reappeared. As he plods silently along, thoughts on his missing sibling, the boy painted with galaxies catches a familiar scent on the cold breeze. Just as turns to intercept the path of the earthen wolf, the sounds of fighting reach his ears and he takes off at a sprint.

Long legs carry him to where Kotori is fighting a huge mountain lion and Kore, without slowing a moment, rushes in to join the fray. Coming in from the right side, the boy lowers his shoulder and throws his bulk into the space between the cat’s front leg and its body. It has the desired effect and staging the huge cat and winding the attacking predator for a moment. It gives Kotori an opening and the boy strikes out, hooking his teeth into the feline’s elbow and ripping into the tender flesh. At least this will help him get some frustration out.


"Kore Regni"

Kotori catches movement off to one side but doesn’t risk taking his eyes away from the fight.  Soon enough he sees what the movement was though as Kore slams into the large cat.   The mountain lion’s head turns to Kore and Kotori bites into the side of the beast's neck where it meets the shoulder.  The cat yowled, turning to face Kotori and attempting to bite at Kotori even as the tawny cat spun about, trying to keep away from Kore, it's one leg raised up hitch from the pain of the bite he’d taken to it.

The mountain lion was injured but far from done fighting.  The pain or anger, or perhaps both, had it fighting all the more wildly at the two.  If it was going down it seemed to feel it should take the wolves down with it.

"Kotori Fatalis"

The mountain lion is not having a good day. As Kore releases his hold and jumps back, Kotori delivers a forceful bite to the side of the cat’s neck. A grin splits his maw as the angry feline pulls the leg up toward its body and bares its teeth at them. The galaxy-hued boy does not hesitate and dives back in, going toward the injured side of the feline. It tries to back up but Kore is too quick and his saber teeth open the wound Kotori had made even further. Blood paints the ground as Kore falls back and the mountain lion seems to be catching onto the fact that it will not leave here alive. Desperation begins to make the cat act more erratically.

"Kore Regni"

The cougar certainly is large for one of its kind but a cat is nothing more than a cat regardless the size.  Kotori and Kore had done a fair amount of damage already to it.  The mountain lion wasn’t happy and was starting to show signs of desperation.  The horned wolf stepped back for a second as the large cat rounded on him with both legs and mouth.  The frontal assault wasn’t followed by chasing after Kotori’s step back but instead an attempt to escape the two wolves and flee.

Call it being considerate enough to not let the fur coat meet a slow and painful end or call it cruel refusing to let the animal go when he didn’t need to keep fighting it.  Either way, Kotori snapped his teeth into a back leg, tearing into the muscle and guaranteeing it wouldn’t go anywhere until they’d killed it.

"Kotori Fatalis"

Even with some extra heft to it, the mountain lion is doomed. The feline finally decides to try and flee but, with the damage they have already done to it, the cat is already dead and Kore is not one to let a creature to suffer needlessly. He rushes forward, easily overtaking the limping cougar while Kotori strikes out, making the beast lame with a well-placed bite to a back leg. As it attempts to cry out in pain, the boy clad in galaxies lunges up toward the mountain lion’s neck.

Saber teeth slice through flesh and veins alike, cleaving their way down to where the artery and throat lay. With a growl and twist, Kore then tosses his head backward as he rips apart the cougar’s throat. Blood pumps into the air the and air hisses through the new hole as the boy backs away to allow the cat room to die. It lurches sideways before collapsing and, with a shudder and soft exhale, the predator dies. Kore looks to Kotori, raising an eyebrow and giving a small smirk as he does. Yet another predator has died by their paws.
