Stolas

After Stolas' first night on the island, Fia saw him to his own guest den before heading to her own up the mountain by her siblings. She was much more a night creature than a day one, but she had figured that wasn't quite the norm and he must have been tired from the journey. She was too honestly having met him half way, so there weren't really any second thoughts to call it a night herself.
By the morning she was up early, she typically didn't sleep much or more went for a few naps a day rather than long periods of sleep. She was eager to go ahead and meet him again, but instead did a little faux patrol around the island. The chill of the early morning and shores of the ocean had her bring a pelt over her shoulders while she wasn't intending to fight any intruders. And she didn't have that problem anyway. All seemed peaceful.
As the sun started to rise more and the sky lit up in a cloudy blue she'd start to make her way towards the cave den he was staying in. He may have been up already, but if not she'd wait for him more out in the common areas of the lake in a place she could spot him up the mountain trails. "Morning." She greeted after they had met below the ranges. She'd stand as if to walk off somewhere with him, though really not much in mind.
She'd only walk a few steps before continuing, "You held your own nicely against those coyotes." Somewhat a compliment? Sure. Maybe she was trying too hard to brush off that admiration of him though. Her growing feelings she had been exploring recently were making her act mostly oblivious to the way she felt and thought. But the more time she spent with Stolas, the more it came out. "Not that I wouldn't have expected otherwise."
A brow raised as she side eyed him and continued to move forward around the lake, "Don't suppose you could show me first hand what you know?" A gentle smile, Fia herself actually didn't have a lot of experience in one on one spars. Maybe Stolas was the same, who knew. Most everything came naturally for her but there was a lot for her to actually learn. Though, that wasn't really why she wanted to challenge Stolas. She wouldn't say that out loud though.

Stolas had never stayed overnight in another pack before. The most he’d ever been away from home was camping just outside the borders of Ashen when he went stargazing, but even that had been nearby and just a single night. Not that being away from home bothered him or anything, it was just a new and strange experience for the young man. The Mendaciums had been more than hospitable to him and welcomed him graciously into their home (barring the mild hopefully joking threats Alastor had made against his life) so he didn’t feel uncomfortable accepting the guest den they provided for him. The den itself was spacious and warm, decorated with plush and luxurious furs. The Mendacium family certainly knew how to take care of their guests it seemed!
After he had parted ways from Fiametta that night, Stolas had crashed right into a deep sleep, a combination of the incredibly comfortable bedding and being worn out from the day of traveling and fighting coyotes taking its toll on him. Being that his family was usually mostly nocturnal, it was uncommon for Stolas to sleep so soundly through the night, but this time he slept like a baby. When he woke to the morning sun the next day, the young brute gave a long stretch of his limber body with a grateful groan, stepping out into the cool early spring morning. The northern air was crisp and felt good on his coat and in his lungs.
Blinking the last of the sleep bleariness from his gray eyes, Stolas meandered his way down to the lake, padding up to the edge of the crystal clear water and quenching his thirst with a long drink. Fia’s voice greeting him while he drank pulled his attention up to regard his friend with a warm smile. "Good morning," he greeted her in return, his tail giving a slight wag to show his joy to see her. As was her way, Fiametta led him away from the lake without another word. She might have been taciturn but that had never bothered Stolas. They only went a few paces away from the lake before Fia was complimenting him for his performance against the coyotes yesterday. "Oh! Uh, thanks," he replied with a little proud smile. "You were pretty good yourself too. But I kinda already figured you would be." Also a bit of a compliment from him as well.
Much to his surprise, Fia asked if he would be up for a morning spar. Stolas blinked a couple of times while his brain caught up to him. It was still early enough in the morning that there were scant few wolves up from the pack, so he supposed if he made a huge fool of himself at least he'd only embarrass himself in front of Fiametta. He hadn't had an official spar since he was a young pup training with his father and aunt, but he also didn't want to refuse and disappoint his friend. "Sure, I suppose I could show you what I know." Stolas took a couple of steps to put space between himself and Fiametta, the crimson star-speckled brute assuming his light and limber fighting stance opposite of the flame-marked fae. When he was set his his paws braced and muscles tensed, he waited for Fia to get herself ready and face off against him. "Ladies first." He was offering her the opening move. His fighting style was much more focused on defense and agility anyway and would serve him better to respond than to open the fight.

Their mutual compliments felt easy for her, she had become as comfortable with Stolas as she had been with her siblings. At least that's how she felt about him. It may have gone beyond that, but for this moment in time she could just be happy to find that familiar feeling. The hidden urges behind her were easy to fade out, more just her oblivious young mind working it's way around age.
She smiled as he accepted and her head slightly turned to eye him as he moved forward and a few steps away from her to make his stance. Quick enough. Fia herself was also more the step back and wait it out type. Evade and conquer, or whatever the saying would be. But she certainly wouldn't back down from the first move. She could happily play both ways. "Alright, Starboy." She commented with a smirk, rolling her shoulders a little before crouching just a bit into a stance herself. It wouldn't take long before she was making a fast lunge in his direction, fully friendly of course. He'd be able to tell in time through the motions she made.
Once she had close contact she'd raise her paws to want to wrap them around his neck and shoulders, typical. Definitely not an original move. Though showing her, and his full strength wasn't in her intention in this little battle. Maybe he'd be able to tell. She at least wouldn't expect any harsh come back from him. But honestly, she'd find that to be a little fun. Even with harm done.

Fiametta regarded his offer for the opening move with a playful smirk, giving him a new nickname in the process. Hearing the title of Starboy bestowed upon him by his friend created a light fluttering in his heart. He'd never had a nickname before! His family always addressed him by his full name, and even his previous "friendship" had been a first name basis only. This felt new, exciting, and special to the Klein lordling. Their fight began as Fia took a swift charge right for him. She was fast—much faster than Stolas had been anticipating! Her light, lithe build made her surprisingly agile and quick, but Stolas was no pushover. Graphite gray eyes narrowed as he focused on his opponent's moves, remembering his father's lessons about timing and using counterattacks to pit his foe's strengths against them. The young brute braced himself, biding his time and preparing to strike at just the right moment. Though it was only a few seconds for her to be right up on him, he had to get this right.
Stolas lowered his body, nerves steeled and muscles tensed. The scarlet and ebony speckled lad scarcely blinked while he watched Fiametta, waiting until she was upon him and making a lunge with her paws outstretched to try and grapple around his neck. That was when Stolas finally reacted. In a snap of motion, the Klein wolf kicked his paws backwards, throwing his weight back with his momentum to move with Fia's pounce, exposing his underbelly as she reached for him. In the same motion, he curled his paws in between them, aiming to press them into Fia's belly. It was a risky move, but if he timed it right, he would wind up on his back with Fia coming down on top of him just in time to kick his legs out and use their momentum to fling her over and off of him. Maybe he was doing it in part to show off his moves to her, maybe because he really just wanted to surprise her with how nimble and flexible he was. Whatever the reason, the fight would be made by whoever managed to stick the landing first.
