Spring was the perfect time to do some herb hunting and Ulmaria was anxious to replenish her stores. Now that she was part of a nomadic group again she needed to clean out her bag and be more selective in what she chose to gather. Today she was on the hunt for feverfew. A useful plant with small yellow flowers and a strong bitter smell. It was hardy so despite winter's reluctance to recede she still hoped to find some.

She paused beneath one of the willows, eyes scanning the ground nearby. While feverfew could be used for fevers that wasn't her interest at this time. She could make an ointment from it that was effective against bug bites and with spring and summer rolling in that meant they'd need to deal with mosquitos. She wrinkled her nose. Mosquitos were the worst!

Speech

Time has been strange for Kore. Seasons have come and gone and all they do is mark another one without his brother. Long, slender, powerful legs push the galaxy-hued man through the land filled with willow trees, eyes slowly scanning his surroundings but not expecting to find anything. Kal has been gone for a long time and, while it might be possible that he just went to explore, the man wrapped in galaxies doesn’t believe that. Because, he knows that Kalyke would have told his siblings before leaving.

A sigh rolls past his lips and Kore detours to approach the lake. His paws ache and, with each passing land he explores, the man loses a little more hope. The only thing keeping him going on what feels like a fool’s errand, is the fact that he has found a few spots with Kal’s scent. It was mixed with the scents of others and muddled to an almost unrecognizable level but he had recognized it. Nose works as he wanders through the chilly land, the spring sun doing little to chase away the chill of winter.

Suddenly, Kore pulls to a stop as a familiar scent reaches his nose. It isn’t Kalyke’s but he does know who it belongs to. Tearing through the trees, skirting rocks, Kore is soon greeted by the familiar form of his sister. He skids to a stop, sending some dirt flying as he heaves in a breath, his lips wiggling up into a small smile as he stares at his sister. She has the scent of a band mixed into her fur but Kore would know her scent anywhere. Softly, voice choked with emotions that are difficult to explain, he says one word, “Mar.”


"Kore Regni"

Ulmaria had her head down, nostrils flaring as she filtered through the myriad of scents in her path. She paused as she caught something familiar that had nothing to do with a plant. Her head popped up as she looked out to see her brother Kore. "Kore!" She shouted as her brother skidded to a stop right in front of her. She bounced forward and attempted to nuzzle his cheek in greeting, her tail wagging wildly. "It's so good to see you! How are you? Has everything been going alright?" It felt like ages since she'd seen any of her siblings and she always wondered how they were doing, out on their own in this big world. Were they healthy? Were they finding new homes ok?

Speech

Emotions well the galaxy-hued man’s chest as he looks at his sister. He breathes her name and Mar bounces over to him nuzzling his cheek and Kore returns the greeting with great affection. Tails match pace as the weariness that has been Kore’s constant companion flees in the face of the joy at reuniting with his sibling. But it leaves just as quickly, as her words have the man’s smile faltering and a long-suffering sigh rolls past his lips while his eyes suddenly darken. Shoulders hunch inward and his head falls as he says, “Kalyke is missing Mar. I… I have been trying to find him.”

Blue gaze lifts to catch her amethyst eyes and there is a mixture worry and desperation in his eyes. The past year has been difficult for Kore and Ao with the pair having little contact with any of their other siblings. But Mar is here now and the man cloaked in galaxies tells her, “Ao is in the east, I left her to go search for Kal. He… he went missing right before our first birthday. Hey, you haven’t seen him by any chance?” Hope swells on his features as a small spark of chance flickers to life. If Mar has found any sign of Kal in her travels than there is still a chance he is out there… waiting.
