Kotori jogged along the hot springs scenting the surrounding area for any sign of predators.  The hot spring was a place that clashed with details to enjoy and things he’d rather avoid.  Primarily the springs were good for a soak but the scent ruined the effect being perfect.  They were also a place other animals came to visit, whether for the forested area surrounding the springs, for healing injuries, or for mere curiosity.  Regardless, in Kotori’s mind, any predator this close to his pack was asking for a fight.  They only really needed to patrol his pack's land but if they died here then they’d never make it to his land.

Kotori caught the faint scent of a bear on the eastern side, hidden still by the trees.  The bear apparently hadn’t noticed Kotori yet and the wolf considered this upper hand.  He was perfectly willing to charge bears head-on but that was better when he fought with another and he was providing a distraction.

Kotori took his time and went wide around the bear before running towards it.  The bear turned around just as Kotori got close.  Kotori had to pull himself in, not completing his charge but jogging sideways, circling the bear before getting a bite into a meaty thigh.

"Kotori Fatalis"

Life has been strange for Enki. Since the takeover of his mother’s pack, the boy had been forced to move from place to place. Medusa had cursed him, calling him a fugitive from a pack he wanted nothing to do with. He does not understand why the woman hates him or what he did to deserve this life but the pink wolf is determined to change his luck. Since finding a safe place in Ashen, the boy has become determined to get more fighting experience under his belt.

Refusing to let fear rule his life, Enki has adventured out in search of places to explore. The hot springs is his first stop and they smell awful. The heavy scent of sulfur dulling the scents around the pools of water. Softly, in the distance, the pink boy hears the sound of fighting and he decides to investigate. He finds an earthen wolf circling a rather angry grizzly, the pair squaring off to a battle. Luckily, neither of them seems to have noticed him so Enki uses the element of surprise to his advantage.

Slender, pink form darts from the shadows and Enki launches himself up and onto the grizzly’s back. He lashes out, sinking his teeth deep into the bear’s scruff and he thrashes his head. Blood begins to pour from the wounds he makes and he wraps his forelegs around the creature’s shoulders. For now, Enki holds on for the ride.


"Enki Klein"

It’s as if there is always a wolf around every corner the moment a bear is found.  This wasn’t one from his pack but it seemed to want in on the fight also.  The stranger is quick to surprise the bear, hopping onto its back where he quickly gets hold of the bear's scruff.  This was certainly a helpful distraction as the bear starts circling, roaring, and trying to get to the wolf on its back.

Kotori uses this chance to run to a front leg, jabbing his horns in and letting them slice through the meaty muscle on the shoulder.  The bear seems to want to give attention to Kotori but can only keep turning as it's still true that Enki is the better threat.  Kotori grins smugly, moving to the back leg and slashing with his horns there also.  This is followed up by sinking his teeth into the cut, deepening the damage.  The bear finally has enough and raises itself on two legs.    

"Kotori Fatalis"

Enki is always eager to help and the chance to fight a large predator is just the icing on the proverbial cake. On the bear’s back, the boy wraps his slender legs around the creature’s neck while tearing up its scruff. The wounds he creates might not be life threatening but they are painful. This earns him the grizzly’s ire and it focuses solely on him. The earthen male runs in, dealing damage to a shoulder and, around a mouthful of the bears scruff, a grin ticks his mouth up.

The grizzly has enough and shifts to stand. Enki, knowing it is time to dismount, takes a parting gift in the form of an ear. He rips it freeas the bear stands, roaring in pain and his gangly form pushes off from the beast. Paws hit ground and he tucks his tail while darting away from the angry ursin’s retaliating swipe. Rounding on the grizzly, the boy spits the ear out and grins happily at the beast, ready to finish this fight.


"Enki Klein"

Eventually, Enki is uprooted and yet Kotori gets another few heartbeats after Enki is thrown to bite into the back leg.  The bear was busy yowling in pain and looking between the two enemies.  Kotori’s teeth have a chance to dig into where he slashed, chomping down deeper into the muscle and the blood flowing faster and deeper color to it.

The bear turns trying to attack Kotori but it's horribly slowed down with all the damage at this point and the horned wolf easily evades the attack.  Kotori jogs around the opposite side of the bear, even as it tries to follow but fails to keep up.  The dark-coated wolf bites into the other back leg.  This would be a lousy death for the bear.  Its legs getting destroyed bit by bit, and its neck painful whenever its head turned.  Add to that the pain of an ear torn off!

Kotori did muse on taking off the other ear but no, he’d let the bear keep that one in death.  Well, unless Enki chose to take it.

"Kotori Fatalis"

The bear was doomed the moment it met the earthen male and Enki is helping to finish the fight. Wounds appear on the grizzly’s once brown fur, blood marring its coat as it swings to try and swat at the other wolf. As the fight drags on, the wounds stack up and the bear struggles to keep going. Mercy comes in many forms and the pale pink boy decides that he will help to hasten the creature’s departure. Long legs push off the ground as he races around the beast’s side, angling to come up on the side of its neck.

Launching himself at the fur and fat laden area, Enki latches on and tears open a sizable wound. But it isn’t enough to end the grizzly’s life and the long-legged boy is forced to retreat before he can do anything else. Light blue eyes flick over to the earthen male and he dips his head slightly in a quiet bid for the other wolf to take the attention once more. Once the bear’s ire is firmly back on the earthen wolf, Enki sets his plan into action. Once more he races up to the neck, this time going for the wound that has already been opened.

Teeth find flesh and he clamps down until he feels the give of more vital structures. With a snarl and toss of his head, Enki removes a section of the grizzly’s jugular vein causing great arches of blood to spew into the air. A grunt is all the bear has left to offer as it sags sideways before hitting the ground. With a final, shuddering breath, the grizzly stills, never to fight again. Pale blue eyes turn to the stranger as his tongue darts out to swipe at the blood on his muzzle before offering the man a smirk.
