The Wendigo and the Devil but which one is which
Lurid
The monster had been displaced. His massive paws had lead him to the forest edge tonight, where his glowing eyes laid upon the form of the cavernous Antiox in the far distance. The fog settling upon the area was thick and he welcomed it. Anger had settled deep within his gut at the fact that someone had the balls to take what was his while he had been out looking for more places to house his hunting grounds. A lapse in his judgement, he supposed. For now he would haunt these woods. He had smelled the borders on the wind but he would pick no fight, yet. Best to bide your time with these things. His bulk stood and moved deeper into the woods, eyes lighting up the fog around him like some nightmare demon. He had other things in these woods right now. His maw was splashed with the blood of his latest kill, a small thing it had been, but enough for the monster to look to hide it in his current lodgings. Tongue flicked out as his lips pulled back, the barest taste of the victim on his tongue. His form lead him to the tree, massive with roots knotted and interlaced with its neighbors, cavern dug out from it. A cavern the monster happily inhabited. Inside laid his little kill, steam rolling from its opened guts. It's golden pelt had been wrenched from it's flesh and he had hung it to dry over the roots of his tree. The area had bones littered about and was beginning to really scream do not disturb, cannibal inside. though someone might just disturb try to play hero. there were almost enough pelts and bones around here to make at least 20 different lupines. He was getting away with murder, but one day some pack would notice him and decide to kill him, it was the way of life. Perhaps before that he would sweet talk some woman into his arms and then dispose of her when she had birthed his brew and then become useless to him. that was all a maybe though. Life was full of those little maybes. He moved into his den, circled his victim then laid down with a paw over her chest and began to dispose of her more properly. Maw becoming covered in blood and gore as he did so. The taste had him savoring every bite. His eyes closed as he did so and he worked on the corpse from memory. Behind him was a bed of pelts, almost thirteen laid in a fashion to make it padded and comfortable. The only way to approach him would be from the gapping hole of his den entrance, he was comfortable and secure here for the moment. He was half in the dark of his den and half in the light of the full moon that streamed in through the fog, which was laying thick in the area. Walk, "Talk", Think |
She had a bit of freedom from the pack at the moment, stealing some time for herself after making sure the new additions to Mirovis were settled in and roomed. Today she was on a mission to see old ghosts she had hidden in the Red Forest, some skeletons she had disposed of. She was on her way to their burial site when the scent of fresh blood hit her nose. Like a shark in the ocean, Lurid keyed in on the scent and followed it to the source. Silently she moved, seeing the flickering of glowing eyes through the fog. The moon made her appear to glimmer, the brightness of her pelt almost making her glow in the dark as she approached the behemoth. Out of the fog she appeared before him, like a goddess among wolves. Taking notice of the bones that littered the ground and the scent of blood, she watched for a moment as he feasted.
Sounds of the red forest were normal for the most part tonight, he had grown used to the silence that hung over him like a cowl. That silence was interrupted though this night as he dined. Hellfire gaze set aflame in the light watched her even as he tore into the small meal. His nose was buried in the now cavernous gut of his meal, so he didn't smell her as she came into view but that didn't mean his ears didn't work. His ears were pressed forward and his eyes were locked on her amethyst ones as she dared to come closer. He was not one to have table manners so as she spoke he lifted his head, pieces of his meal clinging onto his blood drenched muzzle. The monster he was would lift now, she had stepped into his home. His bulk would move on massive paws exiting his den, maneuvering with head lowered and tail twitching. Eyes almost unblinking would stay locked on her form. He hunched his shoulders forward like the monster he was, allowing her to see every ounce of his forty-five inch muscled body. She would see the Wendigo others had feared if she was wanting it. Deep rumbling vocals would answer her clearly. "The heroes that come to slay the Wendigo always taste the best." He would stop where he was almost face to face with the woman, watching her for fear, or realization of what she had stumbled upon. "So tell me, are you a hero?..... Or perhaps a thief....."His nose now that he was so close caught that scent. She was indeed one of the thieves, the border scent on the wind was mixed with her and another. His glowing eyes were hard and face stoic, making him hard to read, but he was not going to throw caution to the wind just because she had decided to not just attack him for having his lupine meal. OOC: SO Sorry its short Dx
His eyes flashed as she spoke, knowing in them. He knew her a thief of his home and convincing him otherwise would be nigh impossible. She was eyeing him like a potential ally and he was eyeing her as a potential meal at the moment. His massive paws brought him closer, rounding her frame as she sat. His maw moved closer to her ears and from his lips fell an almost whisper. "You lie." His form would then move as his teeth clicked closed audibly. "Thief of my lair, taker of lands. It was mine first, yet you sit in it comfortably....." A smirk touched the beasts lips as he made an about face about five feet from her face. They would now be facing one another. "The wendigo knows who you are, try again." It was an invitation for her to adjust her previous statement and to not attempt to lie to him. She would have to see him as more than just a dumb dull beast, on way or another. Walk, "Talk", Think |
