Since around the time of their birthday, Dusk had been rather grumpy. Little bumps had been pushing through her skull and she often had a headache. Thankfully her aunt Gwyn knew what to do and helped with the pain. Her mom told her that she was growing antlers just like she had and that was cool and all, but ouch...

The bristly, crochety girl had been avoiding everyone. Not only did she have antlers growing, but that first wash of adolescent hormones was kicking her right in the tail. She was pretty sure that she could breathe fire if she tried hard enough. Once she'd caught wind of the goings on with Talyssa... she was definitely ready to do just that.

The obsidian girl stalked through the halls of the castle looking for her sister. Dusk followed Talyssa's scent to the lounge and could hear shuffling within. With one paw, Dusk slammed the door open, not caring that it went crashing thunderously into the stone wall. Blood orange eyes narrowed in a glare as she walked towards her sister. It looked as though Dusk might be ready to fight her sibling, but instead she pulled the earthen wolf into her embrace. "Why didn't you tell me that someone was trying to hurt you?" Dusk was angry, but she was also terrified. What if something had happened to Talyssa? She didn't even want to think about it.

The lounge was easily one of her favorite spots to find some quiet time in. Looking out over the plains, her gaze settled on the rippling, lifeless grass as the winter winds tore through the stalks to the root. While there was no snowfall to be seen, the dreary skies above seemed to be making their empty threat well known- the silver clouds thick and heavy as they sailed out over the ocean in the distance. Her attention to the picturesque window was unwavering, however, her mind was completely absorbed in other places. Something that had since become a force of habit after their birthday celebration, Talyssa lightly pulled away her pendant from her chest, only allowing it to fall back into place as she quietly traveled the space of idea and logic. It wasn’t until a sudden crash at the door, did she break her trance.

Lys immediately spun to face the sudden entrance, with a surprised gasp catching in her throat as she immediately identified her sister Dusk. The look on her face and the edge to her step clearly illustrated that her sister was angry- even more so than her most recent usual. The tawny fae tensed her muscles as she braced for impact. “Dusk, wait-“ She tried to interject but was quickly interrupted by a tight embrace and a question as to why she hadn’t told her siblings about the run-in with Sephiran Saxe. With a gentle sigh, she made an effort to pat her sister’s shoulder. “I didn’t want you to worry.” Or overreact. Talyssa answered softly. Though, she didn’t expect Dusk to take that excuse very well. “Everything is okay, Dad took care of him, and he hasn’t been around since.” She finished, hoping that it would give the other girl at least some satisfaction that the deed didn’t go unpunished.
