**Set before Andy and Kite go down to the Hallows**

There is always something that needs to be done in the Armada. Today, Keahi has tasked herself with tidying up the kitchen and food stores and, thankfully, she does not have to do it alone. Andy, one of Sirius’s youngest litter, is helping her. First, the pair work to clear the stone counters of any items, sorting things that need to be disposed from items that still are useful, stacking the good items on the wooden table top used for cutting. The kitchen is arranged for the sorting, cutting, and prepping of meats, with the actual cooking fire just outside the cave.

Once everything is set on the wooden cutting table, Keahi looks to the young Andy and says, “Okay, let’s get the buckets of disinfecting water and a few pieces of cloth.” With that, the pair move to where Halo had prepared a couple buckets of water and alcohol with a mixture of herbs that will help to clean any bacteria and bad things from the stone surfaces.


"Keahi Mogotsi"

Andy needs things to do. The girl finds that, the more she sits idle, the more she dwells on the upcoming trip. So, to keep herself sane, the young Fatalis has begun doing anything and everything she can to take her mind off it. Today, that means helping Keahi clean the kitchen and food storage areas. The first task is simple enough, clearing off the stone counters that hold various tools and items.

It doesn’t take them long before the counters are cleared and Keahi is ready for the next part of the plan. Nodding to the red wolf, the purple girl trots alongside her to where the buckets sit. She winces at the strong smell but takes up the handle of one of the buckets before moving back to the kitchen with the woman. Setting her bucket down, Andy carefully drops one of the cloth pieces into the bucket before fishing it out again.

Keahi directs her to one of the smaller counters and Andy sets about scrubbing the stone top clean.


"Andromeda Fatalis"

The buckets have a strange smell to them and the red woman chuckles at the wince young Andy offers. Grabbing the other bucket, Keahi and Andy head back inside where they set up close to the stone tables. Directing the girl to a smaller table, the red wolf wets her own rag before setting to work on the largest stone area. Once all the stone tops are scrubbed, she motions for Andy to begin on the tools as she says, “Please be extra careful. Many of these are extremely sharp.” Truthfully, she expects an eyeroll but is surprised to be given a simple nod.

Offering the girl a smile, she adds, “Tell you what, after this, I will show you how to prepare meat like I did back in Hawai’i.” The sparkle in the youth’s eye tells Keahi everything she needs to know.


"Keahi Mogotsi"

The girl does not mind hard work since there is a reward to feeling the tired afterward and being able to slumber deeply that night. At least, it will help her not to worry as much. Using her muscles, Andy scrubs the surface of the stone until it is shiny with moisture. Keahi then directs her to the tools and she gives a small nod at the warning. Carefully, she selects a knife and slowly and methodically wipes it done.

Setting it back on the now dry, stone top, Keahi draws her attention away with the prospect of cooking a true Hawai’ian meal. Eyes shine with excitement and she says, “Deal!” With a newfound purpose, the girl selects another tool and repeats the same process until the items are back where they belong. Without prompting, the girl then scrubs the wooden surface clean before dropping the used rag back into her bucket. With that done, she looks to Keahi for the next step.


"Andromeda Fatalis"

The young girl seems content to help and the offered reward seems to put more enthusiasm in her work. Once the tools are done and back in place, Andy takes it upon herself to clean the wooden top. With a nod of satisfaction, Keahi says, “Very good Andy. Let’s sweep out the areas and call it a day!” The pair take the buckets outside of the cave where they collect a couple of brooms and step back inside. Looking to Andy she says, “You want to take the kitchen and I will get the food storage areas?”

Once the girl agrees, the red woman chuckles lightly and moves off down the small hallway that leads to the area. With short, practiced strokes, Keahi collects all the dirt and fur that has gathered in the corners and pushes them out into the hallway. Moving into the other storage area, she repeats the process before sweeping her dirt pile into the kitchen. There, they combine their dirt piles before pushing them outside to be taken away by the wind.

Looking back to the girl, Keahi offer a smile as she places her broom aside and says, “So, ready to learn?” With that, they duck back into the kitchen to prepare some true, Hawai’ian food.


"Keahi Mogotsi"

At the compliment, the girl’s tail wags lightly as she grabs her bucket and takes it outside with Keahi. Grabbing her own broom, Andy returns to the kitchen where the red woman offers to split the chore. With a happy, “Sure!” the girl watches the tropical wolf move down the hallway. With a soft sigh, she takes her broom and slowly pulls the dust, dirt, and fur out from the corners. Pulling it to the center of the room, she repeats the process three more times before there is a sizable amount of debris in the middle of the kitchen.

Right about then, Keahi returns, pushing her own pile toward her. With their piles combined, they then sweep everything out into the col where the wind will take care of it. Setting her broom aside, Andy happily agrees, and trots excitedly after the woman, ready to learn a new meal.
