Róta rarely hunted rodents, therefore, she rarely wandered into caves, but as the sun set and the fireflies started their evening march, her green eyes were drawn to the soft glow emanating from this one. It was like something otherworldly, and while she had long since forsaken Idunn's piousness, it was places like this that really made her wonder if the gods really had earthly homes. Was this some strange portal to Alfheim or Hel?

Her steps were tentative, her nose taking in the damp earthen scent, and she looked closer at the source of the light. Mushrooms. She is cautious. She knew not all were for eating and these ones looked particularly slimy to boot. Her muzzle crinkles and her eyes turn back toward the depths. Did she dare stray any further?

Rheum was finally on her own. While she wanted to hurry to go see Rexx Boreas, she also wanted to take some time to see a few places in Auster first. One such place she had heard rumors about during the time of the weird shift last fall. A cavern that possibility made one wonder if other reams existed. She was not as religious or religious believing as her mother or father was, but she would investigate nonetheless. Rather taking on a scientific view of the world, if nature could provide her physical proof of the gods, she would finally become a believer.

Tucking her Akita pup into a bush so that it wouldn’t get lost or injured, Rheum turned to approach the cavern. Event rom this distance, she saw the glow the mushrooms emanated. Her yellow eyes widened slightly as her ears turned forward in an attentive stance. Even her lips parted slightly as she drew closer. Through the shadows, various fungi grew from the slimy walls. Different colors mixed together, putting off an inviting glow. Tempted to go in farther to touch one, she was surprised to see someone else standing at the entrance. Freezing in her steps, she looked to the ruddy colored woman.

“Apologies. Are you goin’ in to ‘xplore too?” She asks in an accent similar to her mother’s.
