It had been some time since he'd been to the river. But the day would be nice, he could tell. The monochromatic male left early that morning, before the sun even began to touch the sky. The best fishing was early morning or in the evening, and he decided he would get an early start, and then maybe decide if he was going to camp there for the night. He could hear the rushing river as he got closer, the chirp of birds nearby, and the quack of ducks and other waterfowl on the river. The gentle hum of dragonflies as they flitted about. The sounds of everything alive hummed around him, and he was always appreciative. Especially these days...
He reached his once-favorite spot on the riverbank. He hadn't been here in quite some time, but it was just as he remembered. A gently sloped spot where he liked to sit and let the water run over his forepaws. The large stone slate that jutted just a bit over the river worked well as a spot to catch the little minnows and mosquito fish that hung around in its shadow. It was a good spot to camp out here, but he'd make those preparations in a few hours. For now, he went around and began to collect a few materials to make a small fish trap, or a pole.

He had spent some time near the river now. As much as he was a wanderer by heath he did enjoy properly exploring a new area ones he found it. So he enjoyed some lazy days. Listeing to the sounds of nature. All maner of things skuttled flaped or fluttered. Combined with the sounds of water moving over rocks and the jumbing of fish. It was noicy really, but he found himself dosing off to that noice more than ones. It did have it's own form of peacefullness to it.
He had tried catching fish at one point, but had quickly given up. They where to slipery and quick and he was too slow and clumpsy in the water. It didn't matter he could catch land bound prey to get by. Always enough so that he didn't starv, but never so he wasn't at least a little hungry most of the time. There was limits to what one could do on their own and he was no master huntsman.
He had been resting hidden at least partally by some bushes when new sounds prickeled his ears. Something larger was moving about. Above him in a tree his squrrle friend gave a quick warning cry. Looking for all the world like just a wild critter, but Ruosta knew better. They where an odd duo. He protected Niehtti from langer animals and in return he had someone to keep an eye out when he rested.
He got up and shock off some leafs that got stuck in his pelt and looked around. It didn't take him long to spot the black and white wolf not to far away. Apparatly gathering stuff. He was vary of the stranger but also curius. He jawned. "Buorre iđit," he said before quickly added the english translation as well. "Good morning."
