Corbie had instructed him to face off with Alarr for a practice spar, and he was happy to oblige. Though so far Avalon had proved to be a peaceful pack he knew things could change on a whim and he wanted to make sure he was just as prepared as the rest of the pack was. Veering away from Corbie and Twig to give them some room to spar as well, he turned to face Alarr with a grin. He didn't know the other male super well but he was fond of him, since they were connected in some way via Rhythm. As far as Corvus was concerned, he was as good as family.

"Ready?" He asked, waiting to get confirmation that Alarr was ready to start before proceeding. After a moment of hesitating and setting his defenses - lowering his stance, ears flattening, and head dropping low to his chest - he charged him. He wasn't sure how Alarr might choose to respond to his attack so he tried to keep his posture loose and ready to adjust as necessary.

He'd aim straight for the slightly taller wolf, ducking to his own right at the last second. He aimed to bring his left paw up and hook it over Alarr's right shoulder, hoping to disrupt his balance right away.

Álarr followed after Corvus to a clear spot where they could spar without getting in the girls' way. Afi trudged along after him and Branwen hopped along the rafters to perch above the sparring wolves. They would wait and watch before deciding to get involved though Álarr had a suspicious the grumpy pallas cat would opt to sit this one out.

He squared off against Corvus, setting his defenses and nodding when the man asked if he was ready. Corvus charged and Álarr braced himself. Corvus' left paw hooked over his right shoulder and he instantly felt the other man's weight. He managed to hold steady and the instant that paw touched him Álarr twisted his head, seeking to latch onto Corvus' left wrist with his jaws. He sought a hold, not to do any serious damage. At the same time as he tried to bite into his opponent's wrist he twisted his upper body in, seeking to slam his right shoulder into the center of Corvus' chest.

With the other pair having plenty of room they dove right into it. It was no surprise Álarr didn't immediately crumple under his weight, holding strong and reacting accordingly. His head twisted around and his jaws unhinged, landing a bite on his left wrist. His reaction was to pull away from it, but in a true fight that risked worsening the hold and causing actual injury, so he tried to keep that in mind as he reacted.

Instead of pulling away instead he pushed back into him, both into the bite and into Álarr's shoulder, which had come center with his chest. He hoped by kicking off hard with his back legs he could disrupt his balance slightly, or at least enough to force him to loosen his hold.

Álarr's jaws found purchase on Corvus' left wrist. Though as he shoved his shoulder forward Corvus pushed suddenly ahead, into his attack. The force pinned Álarr's neck in an awkward curved position and rather than hanging onto the wrist Álarr risked releasing the paw, throwing his head up to try and nip at the underside of Corvus' chin, seeking to pinch the skin and get the man to back off enough that Álarr could reposition himself. Meanwhile he attempted to keep his defenses set, making sure his ears were pinned to his head in case his opponent aimed any nips in that direction. He was a bit limited in what he could do but he made sure to keep all four feet on the earth to keep himself grounded.
