Bears. It always came down to bears. Perhaps it was because Taiga was also a massive predator. Did her size and prowess threaten them? It was the only reason that the big cat could think of for the constant ursine assault. By now, she was quite adept at bear combat, what with the constant practice and all.
As the cave lioness walked a path along the edge of the wall, that familiar low bellow met rounded ears. A sigh pulled from Taiga and she turned just in time to see a hulking white bear climb over a crumbled portion of the wall. It's dark lips hung open as it scented the air, dark beady eyes fixing on her. The feline set her defenses, a low snarl rippling from bared teeth. The bear lumbered towards her anyway. Bears... were stupid.

Kaija had caught wind of a bear not far off from her for a good while now, but she didn't pay too much mind to it, at least not at first. Bears weren't really any of her business but she was an admittedly nosy fucker who craved excitement, and that was exactly why she'd ended up trailing after it for awhile now. The Wall that stretched on for as far as the eye could see ahead of her was a stark barrier that cut through the land, a structure she didn't exactly care for and was happy to keep her distance from. She disliked things that were mean to keep her out... not that this ancient thing was doing a very good job of that. Every so often was a section that was crumbling to almost nothing, easy enough to traverse.
And apparently she wasn't the only one with that thought in mind. She'd spotted the massive feline long before the bear, if such a beast could even be called a feline when it looked more monstrous than any cat she'd ever seen. Maybe it wasn't even a cat, though it surely looked like one from a distance. At least it looked like it could properly kick her ass, which was why she made a mental note to keep her distance.
She saw the bear second, watching as it headed her way, looking very much like it wanted to kick her ass too. Kaija wasn't really the type to jump in and help, but she felt strangely drawn to this freakishly large feline and she'd met way more friendly cats than bears in her life. Picking up the pace she headed toward her. "Can't imagine he's a friend of yours?" She'd call out in lieu of a greeting, more a question than anything, fully ready to get her muscles working if this bear intended to put up a fight in the way it seemed it wanted to.

The bear continued to lumber towards her and Taiga kept her gaze upon it. She wouldn't rush to meet the creature, but she also wouldn't turn and flee. The big cats tail lashed back and forth in irritation. Hopefully a few well placed bites would send the bear running. If not... Another dead bear to rot into the earth. Or maybe a dead cat if luck wasn't on her side today.
A rounded ear swiveled, catching the sound of approaching paws. Taiga's russet gaze cut to the side as a wolf came towards her. The joking tone of the canine brought a chuckle from the cat. "No, not a friend. I imagine he'd like to give me a hug though." The lioness turned her full attention back to the bear just as it's lumbering walk shifted into a lumbering run. Taiga squared her shoulders, head dipping and muscles tensing. She was ready for impact.
The white bear slammed into her and Taiga allowed it to do so, her giant form fluid in the way that only a feline can be. The cat rolled onto her back, massive curved claws sinking into the flesh of the bear. She carried it with her and, with powerful hind legs, kicked the bears belly, sending it flying off of her to land in a heap a few feet off. It was a little comical, but the bear was now quite pissed off. It rose and shook out its dingy coat before barreling towards the cat once more. Taiga was already back on her paws and prepared for the second assault.

Kaija wasn't really sure if joining in the fray was really the right choice, but she liked the uncertainty of an unknown encounter. Maybe the feline would be just as pissed off that she was interfering and turn her anger out on her, but she'd have to play it by ear and adjust accordingly. Fortunately for her, Taija admitted quickly this wasn't a friend, her comment eliciting a chortle of laughter. "Looks like it!" She managed to shout before diving in toward the duo, ready to fight alongside Taiga. Kicking a bear's ass sounded like it'd be good fun today.
The bear charged her, only briefly distracted by Kaija's approach. That didn't surprise her; she was quite a bit shorter than the feline, which was surprising as hell because Kaija towered over nearly half the wolves she met. Remind me me not to get on her bad side, she thought briefly to herself as the fight began to unfold. The feline's position was brief but effective, and Kaija moved to strike as the bear was kicked off her, trying to use her speed instead of brute strength due to the bear's massive size.
Ducking and dodging, she zipped in and out of the bear's proximity, aiming a sharp bite toward the tendon of one of its legs. She couldn't pack a punch quite as fierce as Taiga could but she could do her own work to hopefully disable the bear enough to slow it down. She let out a rewarding growl when she felt her jaws clamp down hard, reveling in the taste of blood on her tongue as she tugged backwards.

Once the bear regained its composure, it began to come towards Taiga once more. The wolf commented and the feline couldn't help the flash of grin that appeared across her maw. Her body tensed as the bear barreled forward and she sprang back just as the bear slid to a halt. Landing on hind paws, a gigantic front paw lashed out, slamming hard into one white cheek with claws extended. Those claws ripped through flesh and blood poured heavily onto the ground. Shock struck the bear and it stood there for a moment, beady eyes wide in disbelief.
The bites of the wolf, especially the one to the leg, pulled the bear back to the present. It turned to look at the canine and began to shift its big frame towards this new target. Taiga didn't like that. The polar bear began lumbering in the direction of the wolf but Taiga was on it. The lioness sank her dagger-like teeth into one back leg and began pulling backwards, dragging the beast away from the wolf and back towards herself.

Kaija had never really been a particularly angry wolf, but it seemed lately like she was growing more and more agitated, for no reason in particular. Not at anyone, not even at herself, but just… aggravated. Though taking a bite out of this bear was a surefire way to ease some of that tension. Well, if she didn't get her ass handed to her in the process.
For a split second she looked like she was about to bolt as the polar bear turned on its heels toward her, but ultimately the tusked woman decided to stand her ground. No pain, no gain - or something like that. She did shift backwards a bit, trying to move herself out of the polar bear's immediate grasp, though before she had to decide her next move Taiga had grabbed onto the bear once again.
With as much finesse as she could muster, she lunged for the bear's throat, hoping to get a decent hold on it. Maybe if the bear was incapacitated enough by her bite and Taiga's hold on it, she could do some real damage to her throat. She bore down into the bite with all the strength she could muster, giving her head a hard shake as well.
