She had swam out here just for the sake of it. She was bored and felt like getting some exercise, after all, what was better than a long, excruciating swim. Ardhel waded out of the water and shook herself off. She had been out to one or two islands Two She thought, this was her second. The sight she beheld was not that of great awe, but she decided to explore the area around here anyway, she hadn't swam out here for nothing. She made her way down the white beach, she passed the more than occasional boulder. She wasn't seeing much here, and she was tired. So she lay down and closed her eyes, and let sleep warm her with it's comforting embrace.
When she woke, revitalized and energetic, she decided to travel inland, she had faith that there was more to this island than sand and boulders. She walked inland for about 20 minutes, and then she saw it. Trees sprang from the ground, the humid air was thick and she smelled prey. It was a tropical oasis in the middle of the island. This was perfect, she would stay here, hunt, swim, explore. She grinned and caught scent of something, it was clearly not another wolf, she followed it. Stalking it silently. It was a pig, she held her ground behind some unknown shrub, and then, at the right moment, pounced. She dug her sharp canines into the delicate skin of it's jugular. She was rewarded with the coppery tang of blood. The pig struggled as it's life bled away in her jaws, but eventually, the light left it's eyes and she began to feast.
Once she was done, she licked the blood off her muzzle and looked around. This would be her home, this, this was her island.

He was never really much for swimming, but Flamesong certainly did love water. He had chosen a serene riverbank once as a home for his pack long ago, and found the effects quite calming to his soul. It seemed on this day, though, that something else sent him to the shores of Alacritis; he was in desperate need of a good meal and all that roamed the frozen land behind him had decided to stay inside for the day.
The large grey man stared down at the gentle waves in front of him in speculation, knowing that the water would be frigid in this winter air. His amber eyes lifted and calculated quietly the distance from where he was standing to the shore of the small island ahead, and decided that it was worth a try.
Without a second thought, Flamesong launched himself into the freezing cold ocean water. He swam with full, strong strokes against the current of waves. His silver fur rayed out around him like a halo, highlighting his path. When the large grey man finally reached the shoreline, his neck and legs were exhausted. He shook out his pelt and lookdd around the already warmer island. He could hear wildlife already, and then
Squeeeeeeee! Squee squeeeeeeechgh...
The squealing of a dying animal rang in his ears, and he smelled blood hanging heavily on the breeze. His mind flashed, blackening his vision and turning his thoughts dark. Suddenly he was bounding through the forest towards sounds of bloodshed, pups squealing, mothers howling, his loved ones nowhere to be found. And the vision of a crumpled heap of mangled, bloodied orange fur, arriving just too late to save her...
Flamesong shook his head violently, anger filling his amber eyes and vengeance ringing through his ears. He took off running inland towards the horrifying sound, hoping to find the culprit. He followed the sharp tangy scent of blood and nearly crashed into a female canine, licking blood off of her jowls and standing over a mangled carcass. The fire raged in his eyes as he looked at her.
"What have you done?" He accused, his mind sending him flashing between memory and reality.

I can trust She yelped as the male roared at her. He had practically given her a heart attack. She regained her composture and gave the man a cold hard stare. Jesus man has no one ever told you about saying hello. And as for what I've done, I've just had my lunch Got a problem with that? And this is my home. You're intruding. she glared at him accusingly. So really I should ask you what you've done. she turned away from him and began to trot in the opposite direction. Not bothring to see if he would follow. Her purple optics would scan the area, seeing if he had followed. She saw no signs of him. She wondered if he would follow. She hoped not. She had only arrived there that day. But she wasn't going to tell him that. |

Flamesong stood over the mangled corpse of his mate, rage causing his body to shake. There wete bodies everywhere. Mothers, pups, fathers, medics, elders...
He looked down at the body, blood distorting its face. "How could you eat a pu..." pig? Pig. He buried his nose into the body and looked at it once more as his mind cleared. It was a pig.
Flamesong straightened as the images of the past buried themselves once more. How could he be so foolish? He gazed after the retreating female and knew that he had made a mistake.
"Hey! " he called out calmly to her, following her scent and catching up swiftly. His strides brought him next to her in moments.
"Look, I'm sorry about that I thought you were...it as...I was mistaken miss I apologize." He tried to explain, dipping his head to the stranger in respect.
