XL Hunt!

Oki had urged her to get out more. Spend time with the pups and the pack. Maybe it would help if she moved around and did some hunting. She wouldn't deny that hunting was her favorite hobby. Something about the thrill of racing through the land to take an animal down excited her. So Celeste decided to try. Gathering up whoever she could from the pack, she led them south from Fenrir's Maw to the most southern side of Mount Volkan. There she had recently seen tracks of elephants. Now, that was a rare animal and to even possibly take one down would be her biggest life accomplishment! Aside from becoming a mother that is. As they neared the border of the pitfall, Celeste paused for a moment to address the group. "This place is known for quicksand traps so watch where you step. If we're lucky, we'll be hunting an elephant today!" A smile spreads across her lips though it doesn't reach the corner of her eyes. "Once everyone is here and ready, I'll lead us to our target. Since we are going after something so large, I don't expect there to be any sort of formation or tactic. If there are enough of us, just pick an area on the elephant and go for it. Watch out for its tusks and feet," She looks at each of the group members before turning back and setting off across the deserted wasteland. |
*This is set before current plots are taking place so say early winter before snowfall!

Úlfr tagged along with the hunting part to the Traveler's Pitfall, a place known for quicksand and not the sort of territory he'd typically go to hunt. He could only guess this was where the exotic creature known as an 'elephant' lived. Galinn had described the strange beast to him and now he just had to see one for himself. It sounded utterly bizarre, like something from a story. Once they arrived Celeste laid out the plan, or rather a lack there of, but that was fine with him. Úlfr knew how to wing it in a hunt and having never seen an elephant before, let alone hunted one, he didn't have much to offer in the way of suggestions anyway. He had debated if driving an elephant into quick sand would be useful, but harvesting the exposed meat would probably be risky.

It'd been a long while since she'd participated in a large group hunt, and Kiela was happy to follow rather than to lead. When it came to taking down one of her beloved caribou she wasn't sure she'd be able to loosen the reigns and let anyone else take control but that was a problem for her future self. Today she would simply do as she was instructed and help take down this strange prey animal - she'd never heard of such a thing, and she was intrigued at what sort of beast they'd be trying to bring down.
She nodded solemnly at Celeste's instructions, grateful that it seemed their plan was that they had no real plan at all. Kiela very nearly grinned at the thought. This terrain was hardly familiar to her either, so it was bound to be an interesting hunt, to say the least. She knew the wolves of Heiðinn had been carefully selected though and she did not fear they were inept. Allowing them all to think on their own and trusting they'd reach a successful outcome was important, and Kiela appreciated that trust. She gladly trailed along with the group, itching to get started but not revealing any of that restlessness.

Strai wasn’t one to miss out on a large hunt, and an excursion away from the pack sounded like a good thing. There hadn’t been too many opportunities to go far from Heidinn since he had been taken by Vidarr. The Thrall found himself following along with the other wolves. They were essentially strangers to him, and he kept a little to himself on the journey to Celeste’s chosen hunting grounds.
An elephant He had seen one once before, but they were giant things indeed. This was going to be… interesting. He would have to wait and see what points he could reach before he decided where to strike. The quicksand warning went mostly over his head.

Kite had been making her careful way through the eastern territory. It was a long way from home, and she’d wanted to find somewhere to be down before daylight, but her day hadn’t gone as planned. So she was out and about with her blindfold on, Lioness at her paws when she caught the scent of strangers. She wouldn’t have simply slipped on past them, but she heard one of the wolves explain that they intended to hunt an elephant. that would be a hell of a story to take home. If she could get even a little bit of a souvenir…
“This hunt open to anyone?” She asked, trying to sound a little more upbeat than the sullen girl usually was. She wanted something, after all.
