Calliope was relentless in her search to spill blood. Ever since the incident with the stranger out in the archipelago, she felt a sort of lust that she couldn't ignore. A bubbling in her belly that ached to be satiated. From then on, any alligator or snake or predator alike was hers to defeat. No one would be safe from Calliope! She knew this, felt it even as she continued to grow. Though still young, she was far larger than any of her siblings and even some of the other pack members older than herself. Long, sleek legs, a well-muscled body, and a thick chest to match the feminine and angular face. From afar, one might believe her to be sweet as bubblegum, but upon closer inspection would notice the flecks of blood that mar her rainbow coat. They would see that dark look lingering in her brightly colored eyes. That same dark look clouded her eyes as she prowled across the isle's concrete jungle. Swiping down overgrown brush and chasing after birds, her attention was pulled away by a high-pitched yelp. Both ears perk up, eyes and body alert as her tail swings over her haunches. Who was fucking with the pack? No one fucked with the pack when Calliope was around. Bursting forward, she followed the sound of scales sliding through murky waters and the scratch of paws against concrete. Seconds pass before her long legs take her to the scene. At the bottom of the bowl, that small gremlin that her father had taken in is attached to a rather large snake. Calliope knew the girl was small enough to be swallowed whole, but for the sake of not pissing her father off, she decided to not let the girl meet her fate today. Circling around the bowl, head lowered, fur bunched up around her shoulders, Calliope lined herself up with the body of the snake. Leaping into the air, pushing off of the edge, she reached out and wrapped her legs around the snake. Digging in her claws and teeth, she held on for dear life as the snake turned its attention back to her, giving Jael an opening to do something... Hopefully. |

Calliope won't deny that she thinks the other girl has some spunk. For someone so tiny, she sure was... mighty. But Cal won't admit it aloud. At least not right now. She has a snake to slay! As both girls tear into the snake, she can tell it's confused. Two versus one wasn't very fair, was it? Cal didn't give a shit. Even as the snake bit at her body, leaving bleeding puncture wounds, she continued to rip at the snake's body. Scales and blood go flying as Cal tears away from the snake. Panting heavy, sweat coating her fur, she turns to the snake's face. Waiting, patient, Cal tenses. Right as the snake decided to go striking toward her face, Cal lurched forward. Fangs met teeth as Cal grabbed ahold of the snake's lower jaw. The snake bits down, teeth piercing her muzzle. She whines loudly but hangs on. The snake was not going to leave alive. |

The whimper doesn’t escape her notice. With as much crushing, sundering force as she can manage, she rips away with a chunk of flesh from the creature. It comes away in her jaws, blood flowing freely. Jael stumbled on her still-sore hind leg, but she was confident Calliope could handle what little life force was in the behemoth of a bitchy bungee cord.
The booming thud of the snake hitting the concrete has her smiling. Stalking slowly over to the snake, Cal spits out its jaw at it before biting down on its neck to end its life. The warmth of the snake leaves its body and Cal doesn't falter. Stepping back, she turns to the girl who looks worse for wear. "Not'sa bad," she mentions before turning back to the snake. Perhaps the nicest thing Cal has ever said to anyone before. "Now, how're we gunna get this outta here?" Cal asks aloud, knowing the girl will help, right?

Cal studies the dead reptile with mild interest. What could she harvest from it for herself? Her attention is drawn to Jael as the smaller woman offers that her father should help carry it out. A smile draws on her lips as she gives a firm nod. "Yes, he shoul' prolly know of this," she adds on before turning toward the building. Lifting her chin, the pup lets out a howl that is both loud and echoing through the concrete of the empty pool. When she turns back to Jael, she looks around at the muck and mess they stand in. "So, what're you doin' in here?" Cal asks. Perhaps she had more of her dad's curious than she knew. |

The fact that Gilgamesh was allowing Jael to wander by herself made him nervous. Not only because she was small, but also because she wasn't fully recovered yet. There were still threats lingering about on the isle that could easily swallow her whole. While she may have argued (not that Jael was stupid enough to argue with him) that she could care for himself, he would rather keep her as safe as possible. For no reason other than he cared for the well-being of everyone in his pack... Yes, right, that was his excuse.
His mind lingered on her when the call from Calliope rang out. Slightly concerned after her near-death experience, Gil didn't waste any time answering. He had an inkling that possibly Cal would take advantage of his fatherly concern, but he wasn't going to risk it either. Making his way through the brush and broken concrete to where his daughter's call rang out, he was not expecting the sight that he saw. Coming to a stop at the edge of the large bowl, he looks down to see Jael and Calliope standing beside a monstrous snake. What was with his daughters and snakes? His brow furrows as he looks from one girl to the other.
"Calliope. Jael. What is this?" He asks slowly, still standing on the edge of the bowl, unsure if he is ready to know the truth or not.
